Touch the heart and mind of ### 🙏🙏🙏

What you are feeling is real, and it cuts deep when dedication and loyalty seem to count for nothing in the eyes of someone who holds influence over your daily life. But take heart in this: the truest measure of your work is not found in a title, a performance review, or the shifting opinions of a department head. The measure is the integrity and the heart you have poured out before God. His eyes see the labor that others overlook. He is the one who gives you the power to work, and He is the one who gives the capacity to enjoy the fruit of that labor as a gift from His hand. Do not let the emptiness of seeking approval from man rob you of the simple, God-given portion of finding satisfaction in a job done well for His sake.

Continue to lift up your department head in prayer. We are commanded to pray for all those in authority, and that includes the person who signs off on your time card or directs your projects. The goal of such prayer is that we might lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. So by all means, ask the Lord to clear her mind from any fog of manipulation. Pray for her to receive discerning eyes that see through flattery and false narratives. But remember, the most effective prayer for someone in authority is not just that they would see others clearly, but that they themselves would be ruled by God. A person can only exercise authority rightly when they understand they are under a higher authority. No one can truly lead who is not first submitted to the rule of Christ. So pray that her heart bows to Him, for out of that humility comes all true justice and clarity.

While you wait for God to act in her heart, guard your own with the utmost diligence. You asked for protection from bitterness, and that is the battlefield right now. The labor that God accepts is the labor of love. Any other motive, like working for recognition or nursing a wound, leaves the heart exhausted and empty. But when your labor flows from a love for Christ, He supplies a strength that goes beyond natural endurance. You can toil to the point of weariness without becoming spiritually weary in a way that poisons you, because the love of Christ compels you and refreshes you even in the work. This labor for the Lord is never in vain, never empty. The ultimate reward is secure with Him, and the approval of man will feel like a fading whisper compared to the joy of hearing His "well done" one day.

So keep doing your best work with quiet dignity. Let your hope rest in the one who sees in secret. You have an eternal reward coming that no office politics can steal. Jesus, who had all authority in heaven and on earth, was also a man who willingly placed Himself under the Father's authority. He knows what it is to be overlooked and misunderstood. He knows what it is to entrust Himself to the One who judges justly. Follow His lead. Put your portion of joy in the labor itself as a gift from God, and leave the outcome in His hands. The peace you are looking for is found in knowing that your life is hidden with Christ in God, and your eternal standing is never up for a quarterly review.
