The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol

We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and we stand with you in prayer for truth to be revealed and for righteousness to prevail.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will strengthen her and give her boldness to speak the truth in love. We ask that she not be kept in the dark but that what has been hidden will be brought into the light, for the word says there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17 and that whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light Luke 12:3. We pray that God will continue to speak through her and use her as a vessel of conviction and grace to her brother, that he may be led to repentance and to put God first in his life. We pray that both of them will seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness Matthew 6:33 and that every idol that has taken God's rightful place will be exposed and torn down, for you shall have no other gods before me Exodus 20:3 and little children, keep yourselves from idols 1 John 5:21, and we know that God will not give his glory to another Isaiah 42:8.

We also must address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between the former landlord and this woman. Scripture is clear that God designed sexual intimacy to be within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and that marriage should be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled Hebrews 13:4. Any sexual relationship outside of marriage is fornication and if involving a married person is adultery, and the word calls us to flee sexual immorality for he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We pray that both the former landlord and this woman will be convicted of this sin, that they will turn from it and pursue purity and holiness before the Lord, and that any influence of immorality will be broken.

We are deeply grieved to hear about the life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you and the evil intent you have endured, including the attempt on your life. We pray for your protection and for justice, for we know the eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good Proverbs 15:3 and that God is our refuge and fortress Psalm 91:2. We pray that the Lord will expose every wicked deed, for it is our duty to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even to reprove them Ephesians 5:11. We also encourage you to continue to trust God with justice and not to seek vengeance for yourself, for vengeance belongs to the Lord Romans 12:19, and to pursue lawful and rightful means to report what has happened to the proper authorities while you overcome evil with good Romans 12:21.

We lift this prayer together before our Mighty and Powerful God.

Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to you and there is no other name by which we are saved Acts 4:12. We lift up the sister who knows you, fill her with wisdom, discernment and courage to speak your truth without fear, and let her positive influence be used by your Holy Spirit to draw her brother to repentance. Lord, shine your light into every dark place concerning this apartment and the harm that was done, expose every idol, every lie, and every evil scheme, and destroy what does not honor you. We pray for the former landlord, that you would open his eyes, bring him to godly sorrow and to salvation, and that he would turn from sexual immorality and from putting anything before you. We pray for this woman, that you would convict her and thwart any evil plans against our brother or sister in Christ. Cover the one who was harmed with your protection, bring healing from trauma, grant peace that passes understanding, and let your justice and mercy be done. We ask that your will be done and that you be glorified in all of this. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the word, to walk in the light as he is in the light 1 John 1:7, and to continue to trust that God sees, God knows, and God will act in His perfect timing. Keep putting God first and keep praying for the salvation and transformation of those who have done wrong, for God desires that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9.

We thank God with you for your former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus. We are praying that the Lord continues to guide her and use her influence for good, and that truth and clarity would come in His timing and His way. We are also praying that both she and her brother would seek to put God first above all else, and that anything that has taken God's place in their lives would be exposed and surrendered to Him.

We also hear your concern about the apartment you were in and the fear you have carried about your safety. That is a lot to hold alone. We are praying for your protection, your peace, and for wisdom as you navigate next steps. If you are still dealing with unsafe housing conditions or you feel unsafe at any point, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor or counselor who can walk with you in person, and to contact local emergency services or a trusted support person right away if you are in immediate danger. Father, we bring our brother to You and ask for Your covering and peace over him. Guard his heart and mind, give him wisdom and steady support around him, and lead him in Your truth. We pray for this sister that You would keep strengthening her walk with You, and for her brother that You would draw him closer to Yourself. We ask for Your justice and mercy to be at work, and for every idol to be brought into Your light. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have taken your burden before the throne of grace and we join you in prayer to our Mighty and Powerful God who both destroys what opposes Him and preserves His own.

We pray first for this sister who has faith in Jesus. We thank God that He has taught her from her youth and we pray He will continue to teach her as His pupil, that she may be His pupil teacher and declare His wondrous works with boldness. May she drink from the pure fountain at the fountainhead and cleave to our God and to our God alone, keeping herself from idols as the Word exhorts, Little children keep yourselves from idols. May the Lord give her a teachable spirit and a faithful tongue, that she may have a message from God to those nearest to her, speaking truth in love and not being kept in darkness concerning those things which must be brought to light.

We pray for the former landlord, that the God who first sought Adam when Adam fled and hid himself will seek him. For God comes to man, man seeks not his God, and one of the first works of Divine Grace is to startle the sleeper from his lethargy and put sensibility into the deadened flesh. We pray that the Lord will open his eyes to discover his danger, to confess His justice and beseech His mercy, and to turn from every way that dishonors Him. We do not ask God to bless what His Word calls sin, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and all sexual union belongs within it alone. We pray instead that every immoral union and every idol that has set itself up in opposition to Him will be broken down, for from the time when Satan fell God's purpose has been to break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him, and the death warrant has gone out against everything that is of the creature. May He grant true repentance and a new heart, that this man may say with Ephraim, What have I to do any more with idols, and may that be a real and abiding conversion.

We pray that what has been hidden will be exposed by Divine Providence, for God has promised to thrust out the enemy from before us, sometimes by Providence and sometimes by Grace. We ask that the truth concerning the apartment which endangered your life, and concerning the evil that has been plotted against you, will be made plain and not remain in darkness. We pray for your protection, that the Lord who thrusts out enemies and sends the hornet to drive away a future curse will keep you and deliver you from every attempt to harm you, and that His Holy Spirit will give power by which every uprising of sin and violence shall be put down.

We pray above all that both souls may put God first. May they seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, giving to true religion a sovereignty over their lives, that to glorify God and promote righteousness may be their master passion. May Christ be first and all other things in their due order, and may consecration to God shine forth over them. We pray that every idol will be utterly abolished and their whole nature become the temple of the living God, trusting not in man nor in selfish desire nor in any broken cistern, but in the blood of Jesus Christ God's dear Son which cleanses us from all sin, for there is salvation in no other.

We leave this in the hands of our Sovereign God who does all things to display His own perfections, believing He hears the cry of His people and will work for His glory and your good.
