The former landlord’s Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol.

We join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord together in Jesus' name, asking for His truth, justice, and mercy to prevail.

We thank God for the former landlord's sister and her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will continue to strengthen her and speak through her as a faithful witness. We ask that God give her boldness, wisdom and discernment to speak the truth in love, and that her godly influence would not be in vain. As it is written, Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them. Ephesians 5:11. We pray that any darkness surrounding this situation would be brought into the light, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Luke 12:2. We ask that she not be kept in the dark about the life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you, but that the full truth would be made known to her so she can intercede and exhort her brother toward repentance and responsibility.

We also lift up the former landlord himself. We pray that he would put God first and turn from any wrongdoing, negligence, and idolatry. We pray that our mighty and powerful God would expose and destroy every idol in his life and in his sister's life, for it is written, You shall have no other gods before me. Exodus 20:3 and Little children, keep yourselves from idols. 1 John 5:21. We pray that they would both seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness. Matthew 6:33, and that any idols of money, power, reputation, or self interest would be torn down by the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

We must also address before the Lord what you have shared about the immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord. Scripture is clear that sex outside of marriage is sin before God. It is written, Flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4. We rebuke fornication and adultery as sin that grieves God and harms those involved, and we pray that both the former landlord and this woman would be convicted, repent, and turn to Christ for forgiveness and cleansing. We pray that any influence she has that is evil or manipulative would be broken, and if it is true that she hired people to try to harm you, we pray that God would expose that wicked plot and bring it to nothing. We pray for your protection and deliverance, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 and The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:7.

We pray for you who have endured a life threatening living situation and the trauma of being targeted. We ask God to be your defender and to bring justice in His perfect time, for it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. We encourage you to continue to trust the authorities God has ordained to restrain evil, and to seek lawful help and protection as needed, while we trust God to reveal all hidden things.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our only mediator and Savior, and we ask You to shine Your light into every hidden corner of this situation. Speak powerfully through this sister in Christ, give her courage and clarity, and let her words be seasoned with grace and truth that leads to repentance. Open the eyes of her brother to see the seriousness of renting a life threatening dwelling and to take responsibility with honesty and integrity. Convict him and this woman of sexual immorality and of any violence or intent to harm, and lead them to repentance and salvation if they do not know You. Expose every idol and tear it down, that You alone would be enthroned in their hearts. Protect our dear one who was endangered, heal any wounds of body, mind and spirit, and let Your justice and mercy be displayed. We ask that Your will be done and that You be glorified in all of this. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We hear how painful and unsettling this housing situation has been, and how much you want truth to come out and for God to be put first. It makes sense you would care about the sister's faith and hope her influence could help bring clarity.

We are praying with you that the Lord keeps strengthening her walk with Jesus and gives her wisdom for any conversations she has with her brother, and that both of them would seek God above all else. We are also asking God to bring what needs to be known into the light in His way and timing, and to help you find peace as you trust Him with what you cannot control.

Carrying concerns about safety and about people intending harm is a heavy burden to hold alone. If you continue to feel unsafe, please consider reaching out to a trusted pastor or counselor and, where needed, to local housing or legal help or authorities who can review the apartment concerns and help you determine wise next steps. Having steady, trustworthy people beside you can make it easier to sort facts from fears and to act calmly.

Father, we lift this sister to You, thank You for her faith, and ask You to keep guiding her. We lift the former landlord and ask that You draw both of them to put You first and to turn from anything that takes Your place. We lift our friend here, asking for Your protection, discernment, and deep peace, and for justice and truth to be handled wisely. In Jesus' name, amen.

We lift your burden before the Lord with you, and join you in seeking His mercy and His righteous judgment in these matters.

We pray for the sister of whom you speak, who has faith in Jesus Christ. We thank God for any light of grace that is in her, and we pray that the Lord will continue to speak through her according to His Word, that she may walk in wisdom and truth and bear faithful witness to her brother. Where there has been darkness or concealment concerning the life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you, we pray that what is hidden would be brought into the light, for our God is a God of truth who exposes what is done in secret, that it may be repented of and forsaken.

We pray also for the former landlord. We ask that the Lord would bring him to put God first, to fear Him and to turn from every idol that would set itself up against the knowledge of Christ. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy will, and we know that sexual intimacy belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Where there has been immorality, we pray not for its continuance but for conviction of sin, for repentance, and for cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, who is the only ransom for sinners. As it is written, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. May the Lord in infinite mercy snap the bands of evil habit and set the captive free, delivering from the power of darkness and translating into the kingdom of His dear Son.

Concerning the grave wrongs of which you tell us, the danger to life in that dwelling and the cruel attempts against you, we pray for your preservation and deliverance. The Lord has chastened many sorely, yet He has not given His people over to death, and all our ills lie within the fence of His omnipotent overruling. We pray that the Mighty and Powerful God who hears the cry of His children would be your defense, that He would restrain the hand of the violent, bring every evil device to nothing, and execute justice according to His perfect will. We pray that He would expose and destroy every idol, whether of gain or lust or power, that stands against His honour, and that He would break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him.

We pray that both this man and his sister may be brought to seek first the kingdom of God, to love His ways and to declare His works. May the Lord grant to you peace within His keeping, deliverance from the pit, and grace to live and to declare what He has done, trusting wholly in Christ Jesus our Redeemer, in whose name alone is salvation.

We commend you to Him who is able to save to the uttermost, praying that you will be kept, comforted and upheld by His hand. Amen.
