The former landlord's Christian sister

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her, and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me, and about the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me.

Please also pray that they both put God first and that our Mighty and Powerful God exposes and destroys every idol.

We join you in praying for this situation and for the former landlord's sister who has faith in Jesus, and we thank God that He has placed a believer in this family who can be a light and a voice for truth.

We pray that God will continue to strengthen her and speak through her with boldness and love, that her life and words would be a positive and godly influence that points her brother toward repentance and righteousness. Jesus said you are the light of the world, a city located on a hill cannot be hidden, neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand and it shines to all who are in the house, let your light shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven Matthew 5:14-16. We pray she will speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15 and not shrink back from sharing what is right.

We also bring before the Lord the serious matters you have raised. To knowingly rent out a life threatening apartment to someone is unjust and unloving and violates God's command to love your neighbor as yourself Mark 12:31 and to do unto others as you would have them do unto you Matthew 7:12. We rebuke such dishonesty and disregard for life. We also address the sexual relationship outside of marriage you mentioned, for God's Word is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between a man and a woman. We are told to flee sexual immorality, every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that marriage is to be held in honor among all and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. If this woman and this man are engaged in fornication or adultery it must be repented of and forsaken.

We are deeply concerned to hear about attempts to harm you and to take your life. This is evil in the sight of God, for He commands you shall not murder Exodus 20:13 and He sees and will judge all violence. We pray for your protection and deliverance, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, we will say of Yahweh, He is our refuge and our fortress, our God in whom we trust Psalm 91:1-2. We pray that God exposes every hidden work of darkness, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17, and have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them Ephesians 5:11.

We agree with you in praying that this sister is not kept in the dark but is told the truth about what has happened, so she can pray and act with wisdom and help bring accountability. We pray that both the former landlord and his sister will put God first in all things, for Jesus taught seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33, and you shall have no other gods before me Exodus 20:3. We ask our Mighty and Powerful God to expose and destroy every idol that has taken His rightful place, whether it be money, lust, power, or any other thing, for little children, keep yourselves from idols 1 John 5:21 and the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds 2 Corinthians 10:4. We pray that every idol and stronghold would be torn down and that Christ would reign in their hearts.

We also pray that justice would be done in God's perfect way and timing, knowing that vengeance belongs to the Lord, do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath, for it is written, vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord, to seek lawful help and protection where needed, and to walk in forgiveness while also desiring truth and repentance.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together. We lift up this sister in Christ to You, strengthen her faith, fill her with Your Holy Spirit, give her courage, wisdom and discernment to speak Your truth with grace, and use her influence to lead her brother toward You. Lord, shine Your light into every dark place in this situation, reveal what has been hidden about this dangerous apartment and about the immoral and violent deeds that have been done. Convict the former landlord and this woman of sin, bring them to repentance and to put You first above every idol, destroy every idol that separates them from You. Protect our dear one who was harmed and threatened, surround them with Your angels, be their refuge and defense, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Let Your justice and Your mercy be displayed, and let all involved come to know the salvation that is only through Jesus, for there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We ask this in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We appreciate you bringing this burden to us. It sounds like you have carried a lot of worry about your former housing and the relationships around it, and you care deeply that truth would come to light and that God would be put first.

Father, we lift this sister to You, ask You to keep her close and guide her words and actions. We ask for Your protection and peace for our friend who wrote, for wisdom for all involved, and that what is hidden would be brought into light in Your way and timing. Help each person to seek You first and to turn from anything that takes Your place. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your request and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord in prayer.

We thank God for the sister of whom you speak, that she has faith in Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no other name. We pray that the Lord who has taught her from her youth will continue to teach her and speak through her, and that she will declare His wondrous works with boldness and grace. As the Word is like a fire and like a hammer, we ask that her faithful witness would burn away what is false and break what is hardened, and that the Lord would give her wisdom, courage and love to speak the truth plainly.

We pray also for your former landlord, that the influence of godly counsel would not be in vain, but that he would be turned from his evil way and from the evil of his doings. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy will, for His Word teaches that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and that sexual union belongs within it alone. Where there has been immorality, we pray for conviction of sin, for repentance, and for a new heart that seeks to put God first above all else. We ask that what has been hidden in darkness would be brought to light, that truth concerning the apartment you describe and concerning the wrong you have suffered would be made known, and that no one would be kept in the dark where knowledge is needed for righteousness and for safety.

You have spoken of danger and of evil intent against your life, and this we bring with great earnestness to our Mighty and Powerful God who hides His own for safety. As He hid Noah in the ark and hid His people from the rage of their adversaries, we ask Him to hide you under His shelter and to keep you from harm. We pray that He who takes the evil that men intend and subjects it to His own eternal purpose would restrain wickedness, expose every scheme, and execute justice according to His righteousness. We ask not for vengeance after the manner of men, but that the Lord would do what is right, that He would protect the innocent, and that He would bring to nothing every plan that sets itself up against Him.

We join you in praying that every idol would be exposed and destroyed. Men make idols of good things when they have not first given their hearts to God, and those idols must be broken. We pray that both the brother and the sister, and all concerned, would hear the call to come out from among what is unclean and to be separate unto the Lord, that Christ would be trusted alone for righteousness, and that peace would be given to the conscience as sin is put away from the heart through His blood which cleanses from all sin.

Let us pray together. O God, You have taught us to search the Scriptures and to be willing to be taught by Your Spirit. Give to this sister a clear voice for truth and give to her brother a hearing ear and a humbled heart. Let Your Word have power in their lives as fire to consume what is false and as a hammer to break what is hard. Reveal what must be revealed, protect what must be protected, and destroy every idol that would take Your place. Turn all hearts to put You first, to seek Your mercy in Christ Jesus, and to walk in Your ways. We ask this for Your glory and for the good of souls, trusting Your unerring wisdom to bring good out of evil and to keep Your hidden ones safe in Your hand. Amen.
