We understand that you are seeking the Lord Jesus Christ's intervention in a challenging situation. We will pray with you and provide biblical guidance, asking for God's will. We commend your request and difficulty as we know that this prayer comes from a place of distress and a desire for God's intervention to sweep away problems and involvement with those that have been a source of frustration and harm. First, we must address the fact that though you ended the request with In Jesus Name, we must use this throughout this prayer and our lives. The Bible tells us in John 14:13-14:
Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.
We must remember that it is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. For example, in John 20:31:
but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
Also, it can be easy to come to God with a desire for destruction or revenge on those that have harmed us, but we must remember that vengeance is the Lord's, and we are to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.
Beloved, don't avenge yourselves, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord." Romans 12:19
But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44
We also know that we are not to be in debt to anyone but to owe love.
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8
With this in mind, let us pray together in Jesus' name.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is facing a difficult situation. We ask, Lord, that You guide them through this trial, that You grant them wisdom and discernment, and that they be obedient to the Holy Spirit. We pray that You will help them with business relations and debts that are not pleasing to You, and that You will forgive them for any desire to harm others or lack of love for enemies. We pray that You will intervene in the situation in a way that will be for their good and Your glory. We thank You for the peace, providence, and progress that You promise to those who walk in Your ways.
We also pray for those that may be considered enemies. We pray blessings on them and that they will come to know the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We pray for all communications to be pleasing to You. We also pray that You will be glorified in all actions and that You will be pleased with them.
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
In this time of waiting and trusting the Lord, may these words from Romans 8:28 bring comfort:
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
