We hear your cry for help in the midst of spiritual warfare, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your struggles before the throne of grace. The vexation of spirit you describe is real—attacks from the enemy are relentless when we seek to draw closer to God through fasting and prayer. But we declare with you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
First, we rebuke every religious spirit that seeks to distort the truth, discourage your fast, or hinder your progress in Christ. Such spirits operate in deception, masquerading as light while leading hearts away from the simplicity of devotion to Jesus. The Word warns us, *"For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light"* (2 Corinthians 11:13-14). We command these spirits to flee in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).
We also address the minor aggravations and the oppression you feel from unseen forces. These are tactics of the enemy to wear down your resolve, but we remind you that *"the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything"* (James 1:3-4). Do not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for your protection and strength, asking the Lord to surround you with His angels and to fill you with His Holy Spirit. May He reveal any areas where the enemy has gained a foothold—whether through unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or compromise—and grant you the grace to repent and walk in freedom. *"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7). Stand firm in the armor of God, for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12).
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness to [this brother/sister] in Christ. We ask You to strengthen their faith, deepen their hunger for You, and break every chain of spiritual oppression. Let Your peace rule in their heart, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). We declare that no attack of the enemy will prevail, for the Lord is their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust (Psalm 91:2). May they experience Your presence in a fresh way, and may their fast bear fruit for Your glory.
We also pray for discernment to recognize the schemes of the enemy and wisdom to walk in victory. Remind them, Lord, that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let them fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and may they run with endurance the race set before them.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we bind every spirit of vexation, discouragement, and religious deception. We loose the peace of God, the joy of the Lord, and the power of the Holy Spirit to flood their life. We thank You, Father, for Your deliverance and for the breakthrough that is coming. May Your name be praised in all things. Amen.
