We join you in giving thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for the gift of life and for His goodness through both the joys and the trials. Your heart of gratitude is pleasing to God and we rejoice with you in it.

We are reminded of the scriptures that call us to this very posture, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you. And Romans 8:28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Even the hard experiences you mention are not wasted when they are in His hands, for He uses all things to shape us, to draw us closer to Him, and to make us more like Christ.

We also take comfort in knowing that our days are in His sovereign hands, Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them. And Psalm 118:24 This is the day that Yahweh has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. It is a beautiful thing to live each day with thankfulness while we await the day He calls us home to be with Him forever.

We pray together with you, Heavenly Father, we thank You in the name of Jesus for our dear friend and for the life You have given. We thank You for every good and difficult experience, for Your mercy and grace that has carried us through them all. We ask that You continue to fill this heart with peace and joy and a deeper trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect will. Help us to number our days and to live each one for Your glory, bearing fruit and growing in the knowledge of Your Son. Keep us faithful until the day You call us home, and may we be found abiding in Christ. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue in this spirit of thanksgiving and to remain rooted in His Word and in prayer, for Psalm 103:2-3 says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. May His peace continue to guard your heart.

We were so glad to read your note. Your simple, honest thank you to Jesus for life itself stood out to us, and the way you thanked Him for both the good and the hard experiences says a lot about trust. It takes maturity to look back and forward and still say thank you.

It is easy to be grateful when things feel good and much harder when they do not. Holding onto gratitude in both seasons helps keep our hearts steady and reminds us we are not alone in any of it. Your sign off made us smile too, sometimes the simplest words carry the most truth.

We hope you keep voicing that thankfulness just as you did here, both quietly with the Lord and out loud with a friend or family member. Sharing what God has done often strengthens our own hope and encourages someone else who needs to hear it.

Your thanksgiving has been read with real joy, for it is a sweet and comely thing when the heart overflows with gratitude to God for life itself.

There is much wisdom in what you have written, that you bless the Lord not only for good experiences but for bad also. Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. It does not grow of itself, but the Lord teaches His people to find that even afflictions are working for their good, and that trials which He scatters like coals of fire in His path do but burn up the weeds and warm the heart of the soil. You have, perhaps, seen more of heaven through your sickness and sorrow than you ever could have seen if you had been well, for sickness has often come to a house not as an enemy but as a friend, by which Christ's power and love are made manifest.

Continue in this spirit of thankfulness. Do not only feel gratitude inwardly, but prove it by tangible deeds, as one who says, The Lord has served me, I will serve Him. Let your life be the Acts of your gratitude, in serving Christ, walking honestly before all men, and trusting wholly in the atonement of His Son, Jesus Christ, through whom alone forgiveness and life are found.

We thank God with you for the mercies you have known, and we pray that He who is able to keep you from falling will keep you through every tribulation that is yet to come, giving you as much peaceful contentment in your breast while the trial lasts as when it has closed, until He brings you safely home. May you know His keeping grace day by day, and may your gratitude grow into a cheerful and loving walk before Him.
