Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son is heard by a Father who knows perfectly what it means to love a son. Scripture shows us that Jesus is truly the Son of God, declared with power by His resurrection, and also the child born of the line of David. At His baptism the Father spoke from heaven, This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. The promise long before was, I will be His Father and He shall be my Son, and unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given. God gave His only begotten Son because He so loved the world. When Abraham was asked to offer Isaac, his only son whom he loved, God was showing in a picture what He Himself would later do. He did not withhold His own Son, but gave Him as the sacrifice so that captives could be set free and the prison doors opened. The same God who understood Abraham's torn heart understands yours, and His power to save and deliver is complete.
I join you in asking for that deliverance and protection over your son. The Scriptures speak of a father pleading with his son, saying my son, do not walk in the way of those who run to evil and are swift to shed blood, but keep sound wisdom and discretion, turn your foot from evil, let your eyes look straight ahead and ponder the path of your feet. The promise joined to that counsel is that wisdom will be life to your soul, you will walk safely and your foot will not stumble, when you lie down you will not be afraid and your sleep will be sweet, and you will be quiet from the fear of evil. So we pray that God will expose every deed of darkness and bring it into the light, that He will separate your son from any path that would harm him physically, emotionally or spiritually, and that He will surround him with His own guard and care.
We also remember that we are kept in the love of God as we continue in the Son and in the Father. Scripture teaches that God sent His Son, born of a woman, so that we who were under the law might be adopted as sons, and if sons then heirs through Christ. We are not begotten as Jesus alone is the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth, but we are adopted into His family. To have the Son is to have life, for God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. As your son continues in Christ, abiding in what he has heard from the beginning, keeping the Lord's commandments not as a burden but in love and truth, he remains in that place of fellowship where the Father's mercy and peace are near.
May the Lord Himself be a hedge around your son. May He deliver him from every form of abuse and from every spiritual assault, uncover what has been hidden, and command His protection over him. May He fill him with peace that guards his heart and with strength for each day, and cause him to walk in truth and in wisdom, safe in the care of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father. In Jesus name we ask this, trusting the Father who gave His Son for us to keep and to heal and to restore.
