We have read your request and we hurt with you over this long and exhausting battle, and we thank you for your honesty before the Lord. We hear your love for God and your deep desire to walk in intimacy with Him and to be one with Him through Jesus, and we also hear your weariness after years of nighttime attacks, fatigue, brain fog, heaviness of spirit, and the oppression that follows. We want to stand with you in prayer and in truth, because God has not abandoned you and He sees your struggle.
We first want to affirm what you have already known, that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that there is no other name by which we are saved. You have spoken of Jesus being sent to teach us the culture of the Kingdom and to forgive our sins, and that is the foundation of our hope. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Your salvation in Him through repentance and baptism is secure, and 1 John 1:9 reminds us If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When you repented of new age practices, yoga, sexual immorality, unforgiveness and the other sins, God forgave you, and that forgiveness remains as you continue to walk in the light.
We also must speak plainly and in love about what is still entangling you, because true deliverance requires both God's power and our obedience. You have confessed that in frustration you turn to pornography and masturbation to cope. We rebuke that sin together with you, not to condemn you but to call you out of it, because it is fornication and sexual immorality outside of God's design for marriage between a man and a woman. The Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Pornography and masturbation, even when used to relieve pressure or torment, open the door wider to the very oppression you hate, defile the conscience, and grieve the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. We must not use sin to cope with demonic harassment. God calls us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him as Romans 12:1 teaches, and to walk by the Spirit so we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh as Galatians 5:16 says.
We also understand that nocturnal emissions themselves can have a physiological component, but when they are accompanied as you describe by demonic dreams, intrusive thoughts, severe oppression, a change in your voice and perception of God, and a multi-day heaviness, we agree with you that there is a spiritual attack at work. The enemy you described who hates love and builds his kingdom on pride is real, and Ephesians 6:12 says For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Your past involvement with new age practices, yoga and the kundalini spirit was an open door to those forces, and even though you have repented, that ground must be continually renounced and reclaimed by the blood of Jesus. Jesus has given us authority, for Luke 10:19 says Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you when you stand in Him.
We want to encourage you that fasting, praying, and praying in tongues are powerful, but they are not formulas to make a stubborn spirit leave while we still return to the same sin in moments of weakness. James 4:7 says Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Submission to God comes first, then resistance. That means a decisive and ongoing forsaking of pornography and self-gratification, destroying access to it, installing filters, bringing it into the light with a trusted mature Christian brother or pastor for accountability as James 5:16 says Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed, and renewing your mind daily. Romans 12:2 says Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. When intrusive thoughts come, we must take every thought captive as 2 Corinthians 10:5 says, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and replace them with what Philippians 4:8 calls us to think on, whatever things are true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report.
We also hear your cry when you asked God to take you out because you would not take your own life and would not run to further sexual sin. We thank God for your choice to honor life, and we want to remind you that God is near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Your life has great purpose, and the fatigue and melancholy you feel the next morning does not define who you are in Christ. Romans 8:37-39 assures us that in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us, and nothing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
So we pray for you now together in Jesus' name.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace for our brother who is weary from years of nighttime torment. We thank You that he is Yours, that he has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus, and that You love him with an everlasting love. We ask You to forgive him for every return to pornography and masturbation, and we ask You to cleanse him anew and give him strength to flee sexual immorality completely and to walk in purity. We renounce in Jesus' name every open door from new age practices, yoga, kundalini and all sexual immorality and unforgiveness, and we declare that ground now belongs to Jesus Christ. We command every unclean spirit that has harassed him in sleep, that has brought lustful dreams, ejaculations, oppression, brain fog, heaviness, irritability and distortion of his view of You, to leave now and not return, for he is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We pray You would restore his sleep, that You would give him quiet and holy nights, that You would guard his mind and heart, and that the burning in his eyes, the loss of voice, the fatigue and the melancholy would lift by Your healing hand. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding, renew his mind with Your Word, clothe him with the whole armor of God as Ephesians 6:11 says, and let him know deeply that he is more than a conqueror. Teach him to walk daily in Your love which casts out fear, and surround him with godly brothers who will walk with him in accountability and prayer. We declare that You will complete the good work You began in him, and that he will know intimacy with You without hindrance. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in the Word, to memorize and speak scripture aloud before sleep, to keep a pure environment in your bedroom with worship and the Word rather than screens, to maintain fasting and prayer as the Lord leads but coupled with radical obedience, and to seek consistent fellowship with a local Bible believing church where you can receive ongoing prayer and deliverance ministry. If you are single, we encourage you to pray for a godly wife and to keep yourself for marriage where sexual intimacy is holy and blessed by God, and if you are married, to pursue purity within that covenant. Do not isolate in shame when you fall, but quickly confess and rise again, for Proverbs 24:16 says a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again. God is faithful, and He who promised is able to set you free completely and to keep you free as you abide in Him.
