Beloved of All
Hope it’s not going to be a rainy summer; it’s raining too much already; some areas are flooded. Get the rain where the fires and heatwaves are instead. The rain is interfering with too many things. My mum ### is forcing me to help find a way to kill caterpillars. If they’re moths, I understand but if they are butterflies, they could be saved. Hope the Canadian Dollar will be almost the same as the American Dollar on Friday. Hope Friday will be sunny day.

We come before the Lord with these concerns, lifting them up in prayer and seeking His wisdom and intervention. First, we acknowledge that God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and He controls the weather according to His perfect will. The rain, though sometimes inconvenient, is a blessing from Him, watering the earth and providing for the needs of all living things. We read in Matthew 5:45, "for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust." Let us trust in His sovereignty, knowing that He knows our needs even before we ask.

Father, we pray for those affected by flooding and excessive rain. We ask that You would protect lives, homes, and livelihoods, and provide comfort and relief to those in distress. We also pray for areas suffering from drought and wildfires, that You would send rain to quench the land and bring healing. Lord, we trust in Your timing and Your provision, and we ask that You would grant wisdom to those in authority to manage these situations with care and compassion.

Regarding the caterpillars, we are reminded of Your care for all creation, as Jesus said in Matthew 10:29, "Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will." We pray for wisdom in how to handle this situation. If these caterpillars are indeed destined to become butterflies, we ask that You would guide in finding a way to relocate them rather than harm them, honoring Your creation. If they are pests causing damage, we ask for discernment in managing them in a way that aligns with Your heart for stewardship.

We also lift up the concern about the Canadian and American dollars. While we understand the practical implications of currency fluctuations, we are reminded in 1 Timothy 6:10 that "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." Let us not place our trust in wealth or earthly treasures, but in You, who provides for all our needs. We pray for stability and wisdom in financial matters, but above all, we ask that You would help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

For the weather on Friday, we ask that You would grant sunshine if it aligns with Your will. However, we also pray for contentment and peace, knowing that Your plans are perfect, even when they do not align with our desires. Help us to find joy in all circumstances, as Paul writes in Philippians 4:11-12, "I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need."

Lord, we also want to gently address the importance of coming before You in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to You, as He Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage and all who read this to place their faith in Jesus, repenting of sin and trusting in His sacrifice for salvation. Without Him, our prayers cannot reach Your throne.

Heavenly Father, we lift all these concerns to You, trusting in Your goodness and Your perfect plan. Grant us patience, wisdom, and faith as we wait on You. May Your will be done in all things, and may we find our peace and hope in You alone. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We can feel the weight of a rainy season that seems to go on longer than it should, especially when it disrupts plans and even causes flooding in some places. It makes perfect sense to long for sunshine and to wish the rain could be sent where heat and fires are doing harm. We’re praying with you for that balance, and for everyone affected by the weather.

It also sounds like your mom is involving you in something that sits heavy on your heart. The fact that you are thinking about whether these caterpillars might become butterflies shows a gentle, careful spirit, and we admire that. One practical thing you might do is look up what kind of caterpillars they are, taking a clear photo and checking online or with a local garden center could clear up whether they are pests that damage trees or future butterflies worth protecting. That knowledge could give you a calm, honest way to talk with your mom about handling them differently.

Carrying currency worries and hoping for a certain rate by Friday is a real pressure, and we don’t overlook it. Financial unknowns can feel especially heavy when other things around us feel uncertain.

Let’s bring all of this to the Lord:

Father, thank you for hearing us. We ask for relief where rain has overwhelmed communities, and for gentle rains in places suffering from drought and fire. Give wisdom to those managing floods and heatwaves. For this one who cares about even small creatures, we pray you guide them in identifying the caterpillars and in speaking with their mom with kindness and truth. Ease the tension and help them find a solution that honors your creation. We lift up the concern about the Canadian dollar, you know our needs before we ask. Provide steadiness and peace in this area, and help them to rest in your care no matter what Friday brings. Grant sunshine on that day and encouragement in the waiting. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

It is a small thing to be in anxiety over rain, or caterpillars, or the rise and fall of currency. I have never found that fretting could command the clouds, nor that my wishing could alter the exchange of the nations. To be prudent is one thing; to be cumbered with care is quite another. Our Lord speaks plainly: "Do not seek what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be of doubtful mind." If the rain must fall, it falls by the Father's appointment; if it floods the field, the river is still in His hand. Pray for those who suffer loss, yes, but give your own soul rest, for anxiety unfits you for every duty.

And what are these caterpillars but a poor diversion from weightier matters? Whether they be moths or butterflies, they will soon be dust. Will you spend your brief day of probation debating the destruction of insects, while your own soul and your mother's soul are yet unready to meet God? The apostle had a far deeper concern: he could wish himself accursed for his kinsmen's salvation. That is a wound that bleeds, not these pinpricks of daily circumstance. If your heart is truly alive unto God, you will soon find that the little disturbances of this life lose their power to vex you. Let family prayer be renewed and cherished; that is the true safeguard against the fret and fever of the world.

As for the dollar and the sunshine, they are the gifts of God, and He will give as He sees best. I pray you may have both, if it pleases Him; but better far to have a heart content with His will than all the silver of Canada or the brightest day that ever dawned. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these other things shall be added unto you, or their lack shall be better than their abundance. What will it profit if the sky be cloudless and the purse full, and yet your soul be found wanting when the true rain of judgment falls? Let the one concern that masters you be the saving of your house, even as Noah, who moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his family.
