Beloved of All
Hope it’s not going to be a rainy summer; it’s raining too much already; some areas are flooded. Get the rain where the fires and heatwaves are instead. The rain is interfering with too many things. My mum ### is forcing me to help find a way to kill caterpillars. If they’re moths, I understand but if they are butterflies, they could be saved. Hope the Canadian Dollar will be almost the same as the American Dollar on Friday. Hope Friday will be sunny day.

We come before the Lord with these concerns, lifting them up in prayer and seeking His wisdom and intervention. First, we acknowledge that God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and He controls the weather according to His perfect will. The rain, though sometimes inconvenient, is a blessing from Him, watering the earth and providing for the needs of all living things. We read in Matthew 5:45, "for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust." Let us trust in His sovereignty, knowing that He knows our needs even before we ask.

Father, we pray for those affected by flooding and excessive rain. We ask that You would protect lives, homes, and livelihoods, and provide comfort and relief to those in distress. We also pray for areas suffering from drought and wildfires, that You would send rain to quench the land and bring healing. Lord, we trust in Your timing and Your provision, and we ask that You would grant wisdom to those in authority to manage these situations with care and compassion.

Regarding the caterpillars, we are reminded of Your care for all creation, as Jesus said in Matthew 10:29, "Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will." We pray for wisdom in how to handle this situation. If these caterpillars are indeed destined to become butterflies, we ask that You would guide in finding a way to relocate them rather than harm them, honoring Your creation. If they are pests causing damage, we ask for discernment in managing them in a way that aligns with Your heart for stewardship.

We also lift up the concern about the Canadian and American dollars. While we understand the practical implications of currency fluctuations, we are reminded in 1 Timothy 6:10 that "the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." Let us not place our trust in wealth or earthly treasures, but in You, who provides for all our needs. We pray for stability and wisdom in financial matters, but above all, we ask that You would help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).

For the weather on Friday, we ask that You would grant sunshine if it aligns with Your will. However, we also pray for contentment and peace, knowing that Your plans are perfect, even when they do not align with our desires. Help us to find joy in all circumstances, as Paul writes in Philippians 4:11-12, "I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need."

Lord, we also want to gently address the importance of coming before You in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to You, as He Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage and all who read this to place their faith in Jesus, repenting of sin and trusting in His sacrifice for salvation. Without Him, our prayers cannot reach Your throne.

Heavenly Father, we lift all these concerns to You, trusting in Your goodness and Your perfect plan. Grant us patience, wisdom, and faith as we wait on You. May Your will be done in all things, and may we find our peace and hope in You alone. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We can feel the weight of a rainy season that seems to go on longer than it should, especially when it disrupts plans and even causes flooding in some places. It makes perfect sense to long for sunshine and to wish the rain could be sent where heat and fires are doing harm. We’re praying with you for that balance, and for everyone affected by the weather.

It also sounds like your mom is involving you in something that sits heavy on your heart. The fact that you are thinking about whether these caterpillars might become butterflies shows a gentle, careful spirit, and we admire that. One practical thing you might do is look up what kind of caterpillars they are, taking a clear photo and checking online or with a local garden center could clear up whether they are pests that damage trees or future butterflies worth protecting. That knowledge could give you a calm, honest way to talk with your mom about handling them differently.

Carrying currency worries and hoping for a certain rate by Friday is a real pressure, and we don’t overlook it. Financial unknowns can feel especially heavy when other things around us feel uncertain.

Let’s bring all of this to the Lord:

Father, thank you for hearing us. We ask for relief where rain has overwhelmed communities, and for gentle rains in places suffering from drought and fire. Give wisdom to those managing floods and heatwaves. For this one who cares about even small creatures, we pray you guide them in identifying the caterpillars and in speaking with their mom with kindness and truth. Ease the tension and help them find a solution that honors your creation. We lift up the concern about the Canadian dollar, you know our needs before we ask. Provide steadiness and peace in this area, and help them to rest in your care no matter what Friday brings. Grant sunshine on that day and encouragement in the waiting. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

It is a small thing to be in anxiety over rain, or caterpillars, or the rise and fall of currency. I have never found that fretting could command the clouds, nor that my wishing could alter the exchange of the nations. To be prudent is one thing; to be cumbered with care is quite another. Our Lord speaks plainly: "Do not seek what you shall eat, or what you shall drink, neither be of doubtful mind." If the rain must fall, it falls by the Father's appointment; if it floods the field, the river is still in His hand. Pray for those who suffer loss, yes, but give your own soul rest, for anxiety unfits you for every duty.

And what are these caterpillars but a poor diversion from weightier matters? Whether they be moths or butterflies, they will soon be dust. Will you spend your brief day of probation debating the destruction of insects, while your own soul and your mother's soul are yet unready to meet God? The apostle had a far deeper concern: he could wish himself accursed for his kinsmen's salvation. That is a wound that bleeds, not these pinpricks of daily circumstance. If your heart is truly alive unto God, you will soon find that the little disturbances of this life lose their power to vex you. Let family prayer be renewed and cherished; that is the true safeguard against the fret and fever of the world.

As for the dollar and the sunshine, they are the gifts of God, and He will give as He sees best. I pray you may have both, if it pleases Him; but better far to have a heart content with His will than all the silver of Canada or the brightest day that ever dawned. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these other things shall be added unto you, or their lack shall be better than their abundance. What will it profit if the sky be cloudless and the purse full, and yet your soul be found wanting when the true rain of judgment falls? Let the one concern that masters you be the saving of your house, even as Noah, who moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his family.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Do not let the weather and these small matters trouble your soul as if they were great evils. The tiller of the soil, as you know, must endure irregular seasons, drought, and storms, for such is the way of this fallen world, and yet the wise man gives thanks to God in all of it. When you see the rain falling too much, remember that the same Lord who sends the flood upon one place withholds it from another, and His purposes are beyond our reckoning. Instead of wishing the rain elsewhere, lift up your heart in prayer, but also cooperate with His grace by bearing the inconvenience with patience. For the faithful are not idle; we must work and trust, not merely demand that circumstances bend to our will.

As for the caterpillars, your hesitation is not without merit. You rightly consider that what seems a pest may yet become a thing of beauty if it is a butterfly. But do not let such a small question become a snare of anxiety. What truly matters is the obedience you owe to your mother, yet an obedience that does not compel you to sin against a rightly formed conscience. If you can, gently seek out whether they are indeed the creatures that become butterflies, and if so, perhaps a way can be found to spare them. But if it remains uncertain, do not let the matter rob you of peace. The Lord does not require us to know all hidden things, but to act with a heart inclined toward mercy. The barbarians once said that the Romans devised empty pleasures as if they had no wives or children to delight in; how much more should we, who have families, find a simple and honest contentment without being consumed by every small vexation.

You hope for the Canadian dollar to rise and for a sunny Friday. These are desires bound to the shifting sands of this life. What gain is it if your money increases for a day, and yet your soul is weighed down with care? The thief may break in and steal, and the market may fall, but if you have learned to say, “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord,” then you have turned even loss into gain. Do not set your heart on a particular weather or a favorable exchange, for these things are not within your power. Rather, direct your heart into the love of God and the patience of Christ, who endured far more for your sake. The Lord is faithful to establish you and guard you from the evil one, but He does so as you yourself strive to walk in His commands with a willing mind.

In all these things, remember that the first shall be last and the last first. Those who chase after worldly comforts and perfect circumstances often find themselves far from the kingdom, while those who endure with thanksgiving are refreshed as with dew in the midst of the furnace. Let your prayer be less for altered weather and more for a changed heart, that you may accept whatever comes as from the hand of a loving Father who knows what you need better than you do yourself.

It is easy to feel overwhelmed when the skies stay gray and the ground stays wet. We wish the rain could be directed somewhere else, to the places parched by fire and heat. But just as God told Elijah that the rain would not come except by His word, we remember that every storm and every dry spell ultimately belongs to Him. He knows the floods and He sees the drought. You can persist in bringing these things before Him. Elijah prayed seven times for rain, trusting the promise. Bring your worry to the Lord. He is not indifferent to the trouble the flooding causes, and your longing for a sunny day matters to Him. Yet we also learn to hold our own plans loosely, knowing that His timing and His ways are far better than ours.

What strikes me most in your message is the matter of the caterpillars. You sense a conflict there. Your mother is asking you to help destroy them, but your mind immediately distinguishes between moths and butterflies. That hesitation is not a small thing. Paul speaks of how a weak conscience can be defiled. If you do something you honestly believe might be wrong, you are harming your own soul. Your conscience is telling you to pause, and you must not violate that. Obedience to parents is a command, but it is always “in the Lord.” When a parent asks a child to do something that troubles their spirit or runs against godliness, the higher duty is to honor God. You do not have to participate in something you feel is destructive, especially when you see the potential for life and beauty. That tiny caterpillar is crawling along in a body designed only for the ground, yet hidden inside is the pattern of something glorious. God can take that creeping thing and, through a mystery we call metamorphosis, turn it into a swallowtail that flies over the fields. If He cares for that small creature’s transformation, how much more does He care for the keeping of your conscience and your integrity? To you, esteeming this act wrong makes it wrong for you. You are not simply being stubborn; you are exercising yourself to have a conscience void of offense toward God and toward others.

Do not be afraid to walk carefully here. Our world is breaking down because so many ignore the quiet voice inside. They rebel and become disobedient. You are trying to do what is right. Ask the Lord for wisdom to speak respectfully to your mother. Perhaps there is a way to save the butterfly caterpillars without direct conflict. But do not let anyone embolden you to go against your own spirit. A clear conscience before God is a gift worth protecting more than a garden leaf.

As for the currency and the weather on Friday, we can certainly pray for provision and for a pleasant day. God delights in His children asking. But even here, let your ultimate peace rest in Him. Neither a favorable exchange rate nor a cloudless sky can give you the deep security that comes from a right relationship with your Creator. That little caterpillar would never fly by trying harder. It had to submit to a whole new kind of life. In the same way, we are not made for an eternal home by just crawling along in our own strength. We need the transformation only Jesus can give. Let Him handle the rains, the dollar, and the garden. Your part is to walk with a sensitive heart, honoring your parent but obeying your Lord. He is faithful to send His rain in its season, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.
