My name is ###. I hope to get money I am owed soon. Hope my dad ### deposits cheques in the bank. There is church picnic later today, hope I get there, hope my rides there and back have no issues. Long story, my mum ### wants to go out of town to another house my family has; it’ll be expensive to go there and back; also, problems more than likely miss more church, and getting things will be hard.

We hear your heart and the many concerns weighing on you right now. It’s clear you’re carrying financial burdens, logistical worries, and the strain of family decisions that feel beyond your control. We want to lift each of these to the Lord, trusting Him to provide and guide in every area.

First, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety and lack that may be trying to overwhelm you. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." You are not forgotten, and God sees your needs, whether it’s the money owed to you, the transportation for the church picnic, or the concerns about your family’s plans. We pray that your father’s deposits would be processed swiftly and without delay, and that the funds owed to you would be released in God’s perfect timing. Lord, we ask that You open the windows of heaven and pour out Your provision so that may walk in financial peace and stability.

For the church picnic today, we declare smooth travels and reliable transportation. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray that every detail of your journey there and back would be ordered by the Lord, and that you would experience His joy and fellowship with your church family.

Regarding your mother’s plans to travel, we understand the tension between family obligations and the desire to remain steadfast in your faith and routines. We encourage you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in how to navigate this situation. James 1:5 says, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We pray that God would give you discernment in how to respond, whether it’s finding creative solutions to stay connected to church or trusting that God can meet your needs even if you’re temporarily away. We also pray for unity and peace within your family, that God would soften hearts and align everyone’s decisions with His will.

Most importantly, we want to remind you that your hope and security are found in Jesus Christ alone. It is through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are saved. If you’ve never surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it’s the foundation for every other blessing in your life.

We pray over you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of , lifting up every concern and burden to You. Lord, You are the God who sees and provides, and we trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory. We ask for financial breakthrough, for smooth travels, and for wisdom in family decisions. Strengthen ’s faith and help them to trust in You completely. We rebuke every spirit of anxiety, lack, and confusion, and we declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard ’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus. May they experience Your presence and provision in every area of their life. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Hold fast to God’s promises, dear one. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He is working all things together for your good.

We've been sitting with your note and the weight of all these things pressing in at once, money that hasn't come yet, checks that need to be deposited, a picnic you want to be part of, and the bigger question of your mom's travel plans and what it could mean for your connection to church. It's a lot to carry, and we can feel how much you want to simply be present with God's people today.

When so much is waiting on someone else's action, your dad making those deposits, your rides working out, the uncertainty can quietly drain you. What helps in that space is often not figuring it all out at once, but anchoring yourself to what is already yours: you belong to Christ, and He wants you near Him whether you're at a picnic, at home, or somewhere in between.

Today, you can choose to show up where you can. Focus on getting to the picnic if that's what is before you, and let that simple gathering be a place where you're known and steadied. While you're there, maybe pull a trusted person aside and just say, "Our family has a decision about travel coming up and I'd really value your prayers." You don't have to solve the whole thing alone, and just giving it voice with someone who cares can loosen its hold on your mind.

As for the money and the checks, we'll ask God to move what's stalled, and we'll also ask Him to give you peace while you wait, because anxiety has never made a deposit clear faster, but resting in His care changes how you live through the waiting.

Lord Jesus, you see and every need they've brought before you, the money owed, the bank deposits, the ride to the picnic, and the complicated decisions ahead. Provide what they need, clear the obstacles, and grant wisdom about the travel plans. Most of all, give them a settled heart that knows you are near and working. In your name we pray, amen.

I hear your anxious thoughts about the money you are owed, the cheques to be deposited, the rides and the picnic, the family journey with all its expense and difficulty. It is natural to look at these things and feel the pinch of need, the fret of uncertainty. But let me turn your eyes a moment from the silver and gold which moth and rust corrupt, to the true riches which are yours in Christ Jesus. You speak of money, you hope to obtain it, you watch for deposits. Yet listen: "He that has no money; come, buy, and eat." What a strange selection! The Lord does not call those who can pay, but those who have nothing at all. Under the artificial conditions of this world, nothing comes without money, a bed for your bones, bread for your table, even a ride to church, all seem to require coin. But in the realm of Divine Grace, the storehouse is flung open and the word is, "Without money and without price." Why? Because we have no money or price to bring. You feel your pocket empty and your heart empty, good! That is the qualification.

Your earthly needs press upon you, and I am not unmindful of them. But let them be a window, not a wall. Every lack you feel is a whisper that here you have no continuing city, and that your true treasure is laid up where no thief can steal and no bank can fail. The blessings of grace must be given without money, and glory be to God, they are! Do you need forgiveness? It is free. Do you need a new heart? It is a gift. Do you need strength for today's troubles? Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Let this fact have its salutary influence on your soul. Who can despair when salvation is so free? Not the man with no money, for he needs none. Not the woman with a heavy heart, for she need bring no merit. The Lord Jesus has paid all, and now He bids you take all.

As for the picnic, the rides, the house out of town, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added. But remember, the things added are but trifles compared to the kingdom itself. If you miss a picnic or a service through providence, yet you can never miss Christ if you have once laid hold of Him. And if the money is delayed, or the journey proves costly, yet you have a portion that can never be spent. I get registered letters sometimes containing money for the Lord's work, but the letters most precious are those that tell of souls rescued from great sin. Those are my golden wages. So let your heart be less on the cheques and more on the cheque-book of heaven, where every promise is signed with the blood of the Lamb. Your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of these things. Cast your care on Him, for He cares for you.

Why do you fill your mind with these money worries, as if your life consisted in the abundance of possessions? You hope to be paid what you are owed, and you watch for cheques to be deposited. But listen: if a servant owes his master a great debt and then is robbed of some goods, would he not be relieved if the master counted that loss against the debt? Indeed, he might even gain. So too, when you suffer loss of money or delay in payment, God may be reckoning it toward your own spiritual debts, granting you profit beyond all gold. The one who wrongs you carries away an evil conscience, but you, if you bear it patiently, gain confidence before God. That is a treasure no bank can hold.

You long to attend the church picnic and to avoid missing the assembly. That desire is good. But why then do you tie your peace to the reliability of a ride? Does the merchant sit at home wishing for profit? No, he hires a ship and inquires about markets. So you, set your will to be where God’s people gather, and trust Him with the means. Do not let the expense of travel or the difficulty of getting things poison your soul with anxiety. It is no great labor, no costly journey, to cast off the love of money and put a bridle on restless thoughts.

And your mother’s wish to go out of town: you say it will be expensive, will likely keep you from church, and bring many hard problems. Then ask plainly: what edification comes from this journey? If it hinders the worship of God and the health of your soul, why pursue it? We spend money freely on physicians for the body, but the soul’s physicians, Paul, Matthew, John, demand no silver. They call us only to temperance, and in that very commandment they make us wealthier by cutting off foolish expenses.

Above all, do not let the pursuit of what you are owed or the avoiding of loss become a snare. The lover of gold cannot enjoy even what he has; he would carve up his own flesh before parting with his coin. Seek first the kingdom, forgive every debt as you hope to be forgiven, and let no worldly care keep you from the body of Christ. There is your true picnic, your lasting provision, and your unfailing ride from earth to heaven.

It sounds like you have a lot resting on your shoulders right now. Waiting for that money to come through, worrying about the checks being deposited, hoping the picnic rides work out, and feeling the weight of your mum’s travel plans. All of it piles up and makes you wonder how you’ll manage the expense, the logistics, and the chance of missing more time with the church. These are not small things, and you’re carrying them honestly before the Lord. That itself is an act of faith.

What I want you to remember is that you belong to a family that runs deeper than blood. When your natural family situations pull you in ten directions, and when those ties feel complicated or costly, you have another family, the body of Christ, where the bonds are forged by the Spirit. The early church understood this. They shared their burdens so practically that a need in Jerusalem moved believers in Corinth to set aside money week by week, not because anyone forced them, but because they saw themselves as one household. That same principle holds now. If your ride to the picnic feels uncertain, speak up. If your finances run thin, let those who love you in the Lord know. The church is meant to care for her own, especially when no other human support is there. That doesn’t mean we bypass family responsibility, Scripture is clear that if you have relatives who can help, they should step up first. But the church stands ready for those who are truly desolate, and even for those whose families are stretched or distant, we are called to walk alongside.

I know the expense of your mum’s trip and the thought of missing more gatherings troubles you. It’s right to long for the fellowship of the saints. Don’t let that longing get buried under anxiety. When the early church in Jerusalem faced crushing poverty, they didn’t pull away from one another; the wider body rallied. God used the Gentile churches to supply their need, showing that no congregation stands alone. You are part of something universal. Your presence at the picnic isn’t just a social outing, it’s a piece of that shared life where we strengthen each other. So, by all means, pray for the checks, trust God for the money you’re owed, and make whatever prudent arrangements you can. But also lean hard into the family of God. Ask for a ride without embarrassment. Ask for prayer without hesitation. There is no neutrality in the kingdom: you are either pulled toward the body or drifting from it, and your heart clearly wants to be anchored.

Jesus promised that our real family is made up of those who do the will of His Father. Sometimes following Him puts a strain on natural ties, but He replaces that with a partnership the world can’t give. I’ve seen believers discover a closeness in the church that outweighs any earthly connection. That doesn’t erase the bills or the travel decisions, but it places them in a context where you’re not alone. Bring these concerns to the Lord, certainly, but also bring them to the people who sit next to you at the picnic. Let them help you carry the weight, just as Paul collected for the poor in Jerusalem. And when you get there, whether your ride is flawless or you arrive a bit frazzled, you’ll find you’ve come home.
