Recently had a person move in and didnt tell us he has schizophrenia, should he move in to a place were people are qualified to look after him..

I would say it probably would be easier on you if he did, especially as time goes on and it begins to wear you down. Because even on my driving job, some have given me customers, and they meant well, but they turned out to have certain "issues" that became a burden to deal with. And it was a good wait until circumstances changed on their own. My opinion, you probably would be better off without the headaches if someone else is better trained for it.

Yes that's a great answer, the tenant with the issue, seems to think it's not our problem, however he has closed himself in the room for ### days and stopped seeing his counselor, and quit his volunteer job.. not good signs..

And for you not trained for it ...maybe get ahold of the counselor for help.

I don't need the counselor, it's the tenant, he has already been told to get a counselor as I am keeping my distance, to focus on my job and other things..

I would say to check with your city ordinances before or maybe someone like an attorney because you could face legal problems if you try to get rid of him on your own. He may say you are discriminating against him because of his illness. This will depend on your city and its laws. Hope this helps God bless

Very wise, yes as he hid not tell us about his mental health, it wasn't until praying about it that things that just seemed a bit odd, basic things, then I went to put the rubbish in the bin, and his prescription was right in sight, and all the meds on it, is what is required for schizophrenia, I asked and he said yes he has it and said sorry, however he has locked himself in the room for ### days because he was depressed, then he quit his volunteer job because someone had a problem which had nothing to do with him, then he stopped seeing his counselor..

Ok you know he has this illness and he now knows you know. This is why I say check into what I wrote above before doing anything to make him move out. I would continue to pray for ### about this. God bless

Also, if he's not coming out for ### days and who knows how much longer, because he's 'not there,' eventually he could starve to death. If I were you, I would take action on it with those who know how to deal with such people. If you try to convince him to leave on your own, he might act whacked out.

All landlords do a reference check. Where he lived before and what he did and if he payed his rent on time. Did you do the reference check? How did it come out? May be he needs to see a psychiatrist or psychologist to measure his mental ability. Make sure he does not hurt himself. When someone is isolated for a long period of time, they may do harm to themselves. Praying for you and for your tenant. May Jesus give you wisdom from heaven and healing may come to your tenant.
