Proverbs, Chapter 18

18:1 He who separates himself seeks [his own] desire, And rages against all sound wisdom.

18:2 A fool has no delight in understanding, But only that his heart may reveal itself.

18:3 When the wicked comes, there comes also contempt, And with ignominy [comes] reproach.

18:4 The words of a man's mouth are [as] deep waters; The wellspring of wisdom is [as] a gushing brook.

18:5 To respect the person of the wicked is not good, [Nor] to turn aside the righteous in judgment.

18:6 A fool's lips enter into contention, And his mouth calls for stripes.

18:7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, And his lips are the snare of his soul.

18:8 The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts.

18:9 He also who is slack in his work Is brother to him who is a destroyer.

18:10 The name of Yahweh is a strong tower; The righteous runs into it, and is safe.

18:11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, And as a high wall in his own imagination.

18:12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty; And before honor [goes] humility.

18:13 He who gives answer before he hears, It is folly and shame to him.

18:14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; But a broken spirit who can bear?

18:15 The heart of the prudent gets knowledge; And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

18:16 A gift of man makes room for him, And brings him before great men.

18:17 He who pleads his cause first [seems] just; But his fellow man comes and searches him out.

18:18 The lot causes contentions to cease, And parts between the mighty.

18:19 A brother offended [is harder to be won] than a strong city; And [such] contentions are like the bars of a castle.

18:20 A man's belly will be filled with the fruit of his mouth; With the increase of his lips he will be satisfied.

18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue; And those who love it will eat its fruit.

18:22 Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor of Yahweh.

18:23 The poor uses entreaties; But the rich answers roughly.

18:24 He who has many companions [does it] to his own destruction; But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Gods plan for humanity is for one man and one woman to get married and become one flesh.  Other human plans or ideas are against the will of God, therefore we must pray and fast for those souls who want to change Gods word.  Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing.  Prov. 18.22a  It is Gods gift for each one of us.  They must live in peace, in harmony and in love.  Showing a good example of holy living before their children and before their relatives.  That is Gods will for us.

Corrie Ten Boom taught me how the power of forgiveness can change any body with Jesus at the center of our lives. If we do not forgive those who have done us wrong and hated us then Jesus too will not forgive us.  Let us all pray for our enemies and perceive enemies to get saved.  To know Jesus and His life on earth is the best example of a forgiven life on earth.  A gift of man makes room for him.  Prov. 18.16a  Gods gift for mankind was Jesus.  He was the best example of forgiveness and prayer for those who crucified Him.  On the cross He said.  Forgive them Father, for they do not know what they do.

Our heavenly Father knows what is best for us.  When we start doing His will He will bless us abundantly.  So, why should we complain when things go wrong or someone has done bad things to us?  We always want to sunshine but God sends the rain too along with snow and cold.  Unseasoned cold has come and we must bear what God bring to our lives. We love the sound of laughter and the merryment of cheer.  Jesus alone can cheer our heart when we come into His holy presence. The name of Yahweh is a strong tower.  Prov. 18.10a  If we just cling to His power and mercy God will bless us richly.  Our Father test us very often with illness of all kinds and troubles everywhere.  But have faith Him.  Believe Him. Trust Him no matter what you are going through.  He will carry you through and bless you.

Come to Bethlehem and see, Him whose birth the angels sing.  Come adore on bended knee, Christ the Lord, the newborn King.  We bow down befor You o Lord.  We adore Thee for ever and ever more.  You have been so merciful and kind.  You have shown us the way to heaven and we are ready to enter into Your holy presence and adore Your name now and forever more.  Amen

He is mightier than the raging sea, with HIs voice He calmed the storm, He is the Almighty full of power and of compassion on us sinful creatures who need His forgiveness each and every single days of our lives.  The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity.   Prov. 18.14a  May our spirits learn to praise, to worship and adore His holy name so our lives will be blessed and we will be a blessing to those who comes our way.   Amen
