We join our hearts with yours in thanksgiving that we are able to come boldly to the throne of grace through our Lord Jesus Christ. What a comfort it is that He who sits upon His throne on high sees our whole life at one glance, and knows every care you carry for your household. He knew Peter's heart notwithstanding all his failings, and He knows your heart as you bring your dear ones before Him, and He bids you come near to Him even now.
We bring your daughter before the Lord in prayer, asking our gracious God to lay His healing hand upon her, to comfort her and to grant that peace which passes all understanding to keep her heart and mind. May the Lord surround her with His presence, give light in darkness, and impart courage and strength for each day. We remember that the Lord scourges His children but He does not slay them, and that faith may keep its hold upon the blessed fact of His fatherly compassion. He has taught us that the chastisement which follows affliction is often for the healing of the sinner, and that He is gracious and says, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. We trust that ransom, which is Christ Himself, for her comfort and restoration, and we pray that she may live and declare the works of the Lord.
We pray also for your son in his long journey and while he is away, and for all your travels. We ask the Lord to keep you in all your ways, according to His precious promises in Psalm 91 and Psalm 121, that He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep, but shall preserve your going out and your coming in. May He command His angels concerning you and set His hedge of protection about you, granting favor and safety under the shadow of His wings.
We ask the Lord to deliver you all from evil, for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, as it is written in 1 John 4:4. We pray that no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, according to Isaiah 54:17, and that the Lord who is faithful will establish you and keep you from evil, as in 2 Thessalonians 3:2 and 3. We rejoice that He who sits upon the throne says, Behold, I make all things new, according to Revelation 21:5, and that He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.
This is the comfort of the Scriptures, that we may spread the whole case before the eyes of Infinite Love, expecting that God will in some way work deliverance for us. Therefore be patient, and be comfortable too, for the God of patience and comfort will grant you hope. May all glory and praise and credit be given to the Lord alone, who hears and answers prayer in Jesus' name. Amen.
