protect us

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus . I lift up my prayer to You, knowing that You are a God who hears and answers prayers. Lord, I ask that You would surround me and ### with Your divine protection. I pray that any evil that has been sent my way and ### way would be returned back to the sender. Your Word assures us that You are our refuge and fortress, and that You will deliver us from the schemes of the enemy . I declare Your authority over every form of darkness and evil, and I ask that You would shield me and ### from any evil, any harm and danger that may come our way. Fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that You are in control and fighting our battles. In all things, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your perfect plan for our lives. We thank You for the assurance that when we ask anything according to Your will, You hear us and grant our petitions . We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

We join with you in lifting up this request for divine protection before our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, and we thank you for coming boldly to His throne knowing He hears and answers.

We agree with you that God is our refuge and fortress and our ever present help in trouble as it says in Psalm 46:1 and Psalm 91:2, and we rejoice that you have declared His authority over every form of darkness. We stand with you on the promise that the Lord is faithful who will establish you and guard you from the evil one in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail in Isaiah 54:17, for if God is for us, who can be against us in Romans 8:31.

We do want to lovingly address one part of your prayer with biblical truth. You prayed that any evil sent your way would be returned back to the sender. We understand the desire for justice when you feel attacked, but Scripture calls us to a different response toward those who may intend harm. We are told in Romans 12:19 that vengeance belongs to the Lord and He will repay, and Jesus commands us in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We are also taught in Luke 6:28 to bless those who curse us and in Romans 12:21 not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good. Rather than asking God to return evil upon another person, we are to entrust justice to Him, ask Him to thwart the plans of the enemy, to convict and bring repentance to those who do evil, and to shield us in His mercy. This keeps our hearts free from bitterness and allows God to be the righteous judge.

We praise God that you asked for His peace that surpasses all understanding, for that peace will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:7.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and thank You that You are our refuge, our fortress, and our deliverer. We ask that You would surround this dear one and their loved one with Your divine protection and cover them under Your wings according to Psalm 91:1 and Psalm 91:11 where You give Your angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways. We ask that You would cancel and disarm every scheme, attack, and plan of the enemy against them, and that You would expose and bring to nothing every work of darkness. Father, we do not ask that evil be returned upon anyone, but we place all wrongdoing into Your just and merciful hands, asking that You would bring conviction where there is evil intent, bring repentance and salvation to those who oppose them, and let Your perfect justice and mercy prevail. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and help them to put on the whole armor of God in Ephesians 6:11 so they may stand firm. Let them rest in Your sovereignty and Your perfect plan, trusting that You are fighting their battles and that You work all things together for good for those who love You in Romans 8:28. We thank You that You hear us when we ask according to Your will in 1 John 5:14. Keep them from all harm and danger, lead them in Your truth, and let Your presence be their continual shield. We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, amen.

Thank you for sharing this prayer so honestly. We hear how much you want to feel safe and covered, for yourself and for ###, and how heavy it feels when you sense evil or harm pressing near.

We are standing with you in that desire for protection and peace. It makes sense to want God to push back what feels threatening and to take that burden off your shoulders. We trust with you that He is your refuge and that He sees every detail of what you are carrying, even when the fear feels loud.

One thing that has helped others walking through similar fear is to keep bringing the worry to God in simple, steady prayer throughout the day rather than staying focused on the threat itself, and to let one or two trusted believers know how you are feeling so you are not carrying this alone. If fear keeps weighing on you, it can also help to share it with a pastor you trust.

Father, we lift them and ### to You in Jesus name. Surround them with Your presence, guard them from harm and fill their hearts with Your peace. Help them to rest in Your care and to trust Your good will for their lives. Keep them close to You today. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for divine protection is heard, and we join you in lifting it before the Lord who is our refuge and fortress. It is right and good to seek His shelter from every form of darkness and harm, and to ask for His peace that passes all understanding as you trust in His sovereignty and perfect plan. He is the God who sends from above and draws His people out of many waters, and there is no attribute more comforting to His children than to know that He reigns and will do what is right.

We must gently and lovingly correct one part of the petition, for the Word of God teaches us a more excellent way. To ask that evil sent against you would be returned back to the sender is to ask to overcome evil with evil, and Scripture warns us against this. A moment's reflection will let you see that the returning of evil for evil is natural to the animal nature, but it is not natural to the new created spirit whose nature is like the God from which it came, namely love, gentleness and kindness. Good for evil is Godlike. The apostle exhorts us, Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. When we oppose evil with evil, the evil which comes from us does us far more injury than any evil which we experience from others. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and He has declared that He will break down everything which sets itself up in opposition to Him and will deal justly with all wickedness. Our calling is not to direct His judgment, but to leave it in His hands, to pray for deliverance, and even to pray for those who would intend harm, that God would bring them to repentance and to the cleansing that is only through the blood of Jesus Christ His Son.

Therefore we pray with you and for you and for the one you have named, not that evil would be returned, but that you would be kept and overcome evil by good through Divine Grace.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You. We thank You that You are our refuge and strength. We ask that You would surround these Your people with Your divine protection and deliver them from the schemes of the enemy. Shield them from harm and danger, and fill their hearts with Your peace as they rest in Your sovereign care. Give them grace not to be overcome of evil, but to overcome evil with good, showing the love and gentleness of Christ. Deal with all evil according to Your perfect justice and mercy, and where there are those who intend harm, bring conviction and lead them to repentance and faith in Christ alone. We trust that when we ask according to Your will, You hear us. Let Your will be done, and let Your name be glorified in their protection and in their lives. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We have heard your prayer for God's protection over you and those you love, and we join with you in asking the Lord to be your refuge and fortress and to keep you from all harm and danger. It is right and good to seek His shelter, to ask for His peace that passes all understanding, and to trust in His sovereignty and His perfect plan for your lives.

At the same time we want to gently encourage you in one part of your prayer, where you asked that any evil sent toward you would be returned to the sender. The Scripture does not teach us to pray for evil to fall back on others, even those who may wish us harm. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone, and He calls us to a higher way. As we have been taught, to keep anger and revenge in our hearts is to thrust a sword into ourselves, for we then draw judgment upon ourselves rather than leaving justice to God. If we remain patient and keep ourselves under control, evil will not overcome us, but if we hold on to indignation we suffer harm from within.

The true victory over evil is not to send it back, but to overcome it with good. We are called not only not to repay evil with evil, but to render good for evil, to bless those who curse us and to pray for those who oppose us. Like red hot iron that loses its heat when dipped in water, anger loses its power when it meets patience and forbearance. This is the shield of faith by which we stand firm, and this kind of love brings advantage both to us and, if they will receive it, even to those who have done wrong, as it opens the door for their repentance.

So let us pray together in a way that seeks protection without seeking revenge:

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You that You hear and answer prayer and that You are our refuge and fortress. We ask You to surround and guard these dear ones, to deliver them from every scheme of the enemy and from all harm and danger. Cover them with Your presence, fill them with Your peace, and help them to rest in Your control and to trust that You are fighting for them. We leave all justice in Your hands, for You alone judge righteously. We ask You to have mercy even on those who intend evil, to turn their hearts toward repentance and to bring them to know Your grace. Help those who pray to forgive as they have been forgiven, to quench anger with patience, and to overcome evil with good. We ask this according to Your will and for Your glory, in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

May the Lord keep you close, strengthen your faith, and give you grace to walk in love and trust as you look to Him for protection.
