Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for bringing these requests before the Lord. I am joining you in prayer for His protection over you as you travel a long distance and for those silent burdens you are carrying in your heart that only He knows.
Scripture reminds us that we can prepare wisely for a journey, yet true safety is from the Lord. The proverb says the horse is made ready for the day of battle, but safety belongs to the Lord, and unless the Lord guards the city the watchman stays awake in vain. Careful driving is good and right, but our ultimate trust is not in the vehicle or the road conditions, but in the One who watches over His people.
That is why the safest place to be is abiding in Christ. When we remain in Him, He Himself is our protection and our defense. The psalm speaks of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and finding shelter under His wings, with His truth as a shield. The enemy may come against us and the road may have real dangers, but Christ is faithful to keep those who abide in Him.
I also want to encourage you about those unspoken requests. God invites us to bring everything to Him in prayer. Instead of worrying, we are told to let our requests be made known to God in prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, and then the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. He already knows what you have not put into words.
Prayer is not a way to make God grant our wishes as if He were a genie. The purpose of prayer is not to get our will done, but to place our cause before God and trust His will to be done. He is the One who does great and unsearchable things, who lifts up the lowly and brings those who mourn to a place of safety. So we commit your travel and your silent needs into His hands, asking for His will and His mercy above all.
May the Lord go with you on this journey, keep you from harm, give you alertness and rest along the way, and meet you in those quiet requests with His wisdom and peace. May you know His nearness and His keeping power as you trust Him moment by moment.
In Jesus name we ask for His covering, His guidance, and His perfect will to be done in every one of these matters. Amen.
