Jesus, protect us
We join with you in lifting up this request before the Lord in Jesus' name, thanking Him that you have called upon Him for protection.
We are grateful you have brought both your journey and the silent burdens of your heart to Jesus, for He is our refuge and keeper. We pray for traveling mercies over you as you drive far, that the Lord would keep you alert, steady, and safe from all harm and keep the vehicle reliable and all others on the road mindful as well.
We stand on His promise that Psalm 121:7-8 says Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. And Psalm 91:11 reminds us For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. We also cling to Proverbs 3:23 which says Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble.
We also lift up every silent request you hold in your heart that has not been spoken aloud. We do not need to know the details, for our Father knows them fully, and His Spirit intercedes for us. Romans 8:26 says In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. We ask that He would answer each unspoken need according to His perfect will and bring you peace as you trust Him. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We ask You to place Your hand of protection over this journey, guide every mile, grant safety there and back, and keep all harm far away. We lift up every silent request, spoken and unspoken, and ask for Your wisdom, provision, healing, and comfort where needed. Scripture reminds us that we are all in danger and in constant need of an infinite Friend to keep us in safety against all adversaries. Our safety lies not in our own watchfulness but in Him who is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. When we travel on the King's Highway, in the appointed ways of obedience and principle and consecrated service, we are under the King's protection, and He gives His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways. That protection is both personal and perpetual for those who abide in Him.
So we pray for you now. May the only wise God our Savior keep you in your going out and your coming in. May He set His gracious guard about you on the road, preserve you from peril, grant you clear eyes and steady hands, and bring you safely to your journey's end. May He who does not mock His children when they ask for good things, but graciously grants their requests according to His wisdom, hear also those silent petitions you carry in your heart and answer them according to His mercy in Christ Jesus. Keep close to Him by faith, for there is safety.
