Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your needs so honestly. Your desire to protect your son and to provide for him through honest work is good and right in the eyes of God. Scripture teaches that caring for our own family is a basic responsibility of faith, and God honors a parent's faithful desire to do so.
The Bible shows us that God has always had a special care for families. Under His law He made sure each family had its place and its inheritance, and that it would remain with them. When a family was too poor or too weak to recover what was lost on its own, He provided for a close kinsman to step in and redeem what they could not redeem for themselves. That picture points to what God Himself does for us. When we cannot protect or provide for ourselves, He is our Redeemer who steps in on our behalf. He is also our true protector, the one who sees injustice and who promises to be with His people as they walk in obedience to Him, just as He promised to be with Jacob when He called him to return to his family and his home.
You are not alone in this struggle. When we trust in Jesus Christ, we are brought into the family of God, where the bonds are even deeper than blood. He knows what it is to face unfair treatment and rejection, even from those closest to Him, and He understands the weariness that comes from a difficult workplace. Your love for Him is to remain first, even above love for family or security, and as you seek Him first, He will care for the rest.
Let us pray together for you and your son.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this parent and this child to You. Place Your hand of protection over them and keep them from harm. You see the need for suitable employment, for work that provides honestly and allows this family to be cared for well. Open the right door in Your timing and guide each step toward it. We ask also for fairness and justice in the workplace, that those in authority would act with equity and without discrimination, treating all employees with dignity as those made in Your image. Give wisdom, strength, and peace while waiting, and help this family to rest in the knowledge that You are their Redeemer and Provider. Help them to trust You more deeply each day and to know they are held within Your family. Amen.
May the Lord guard you and your son, provide for your needs according to His riches in Christ, and give you peace as you trust Him to lead you forward.
