Prayer request

Thank you for sharing this honest prayer and for beginning with thanksgiving for God's goodness. That is the right place to start, and I join you in thanking Him with you.

I am praying with you for true rest. Scripture speaks of a rest that remains for the people of God, and it is entered not by trying harder or by our own efforts, but by believing that Jesus has finished the work for us. When the heart is full of anxiety and turmoil it cannot rest, but when we trust Him fully we can cease from our own striving as God ceased from His. If you find it hard to rest because you want to see how God is working, remember that the only place you will ever find real rest is in faith. Bring your cares to Him, commit your way to Him, and then rest in Him and wait patiently for Him. He invites you to enter that rest today.

I am also praying for health needs you mentioned, for your own body and for those you love who are dealing with lung issues and a heart issue. God knows each person and each need by name, and He is the healer. Ask Him for quick healing according to His mercy and wisdom, and trust Him with the timing and the outcome, knowing that He cares for every part of us.

And I am praying with you against lustful thoughts. Temptation itself is not sin. Even Jesus was tempted, yet without sin. Sin comes when we yield to the desire of the flesh and follow that path. Temptation is common to everyone and often comes in the same forms, the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and pride. The way to stand strong is to have the word of God abiding in your heart. As it is written, hiding His word in your heart keeps you from sinning against Him. When thoughts come, answer them with what is written, choose to walk by the Spirit rather than by the flesh, and remember that God provides a way through every temptation. If your heart condemns you, remember God is greater than your heart and knows all things. He sees a heart that wants to seek Him fully, and He honors that desire. You can pray as David did, ask God to search your heart and keep it with diligence, for from it flow the issues of life, and ask Him to write His ways there and to give you a whole heart for Him.

Let me pray for you now.

Father, thank You for Your goodness that we can always count on. I bring this dear one to You and ask that You give deep rest, the rest that comes through faith in Jesus. Quiet anxiety and fill the heart with trust in Your finished work. Lay Your healing hand upon each body that is struggling, especially those lungs and that heart, and bring restoration according to Your will. Give quick healing where it pleases You, and give peace and strength while waiting. And Lord, give victory over lustful thoughts. Plant Your word richly in the heart, give power to say no to the flesh and yes to the Spirit, and cleanse and guard the mind. Keep this heart close to You, seeking You with the whole heart and not wandering from Your ways. In the name of Jesus, amen.
