Prayer request

Beloved of All
Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. I pray for good rest, for ###’s health, for my ###, for healing for ## for their lung issues, for *** heart issue, and quick healing, and against lustful thoughts

We join you in thanking our good and gracious Father for His goodness, for every good gift comes from Him and His steadfast love endures forever. We praise Him with you for His mercy and we lift up each need you have brought before Him.

We pray together for the rest you seek, for the health of your loved ones, and for the healings you have requested. We bring before the Lord those suffering with lung issues and the one with a heart issue, asking for His healing hand and for quick recovery according to His perfect will and timing. We know that He is the Lord who heals us as shown in Exodus 15:26 and Jeremiah 30:17, and that He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases as in Psalm 103:2-3. We also remember the promise in Matthew 11:28 where Jesus says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, and in Psalm 4:8 that we may lie down and sleep in peace for You alone, Lord, make us dwell in safety. We ask the Father to grant you deep, peaceful rest and to restore health and strength to each person you named, comforting them and giving wisdom to those who care for them. James 5:15 reminds us the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.

We also want to address with love and truth your request for help against lustful thoughts. We commend you for bringing this struggle into the light, for this is how we find grace to overcome. The Word is clear that lustful thoughts are not harmless but are sin in the heart. Jesus taught in Matthew 5:28 that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. We are called to flee sexual immorality as in 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to make a covenant with our eyes as Job did in Job 31:1. This requires taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and fixing our minds on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report as in Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to walk by the Spirit so you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh as in Galatians 5:16, to renew your mind daily in Scripture, to guard what you watch and where you go, and to seek accountability with a mature believer. When temptation comes, remember 1 Corinthians 10:13 that God is faithful and will provide the way of escape, and if we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us as in 1 John 1:9. We pray for a pure heart within you as in Psalm 51:10.

We noticed your prayer was addressed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord as in Romans 10:9, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to always come boldly before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our mediator.

We pray together now, Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy. We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done. Grant our dear one peaceful and restorative rest, lay Your healing hand upon each loved one mentioned, especially those with lung and heart needs, and bring quick and complete healing if it is Your will. Strengthen their bodies and encourage their hearts. Create in our brother or sister a clean heart and renew a right spirit within, give power to flee temptation, to take every thought captive, and to walk in purity and holiness. Fill the mind with Your Word and with thoughts that honor You. We trust You to provide escape from temptation and victory through Your Spirit. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart with us. We hear how much you are carrying at once, wanting good rest for yourself while also lifting up loved ones with lung and heart needs, and wanting to walk closely with the Lord in your thoughts. We are joining you in prayer for each of these.

We are praying for deep, steady rest for you and for healing and strength for those you love. When sleep has been hard and when there are ongoing lung and heart concerns, it is good to keep your medical providers involved alongside prayer. If you have not already, we encourage you to reach out to them about the health needs you mentioned and about trouble resting, so they can support you in person in ways we cannot from here.

For the struggle with lustful thoughts, you are not alone in wanting freedom there. It can help to have a simple, ready response when those thoughts come, turning quickly to the Lord in prayer, stepping away from what triggered them, and if possible talking regularly with a trusted, mature believer who can encourage you and help you stay accountable.

Father, we thank You for Your goodness to our friend and to the ones they love. We ask for Your care over each body and heart mentioned here, for healing according to Your will, for quiet and restorative sleep, and for strength to walk in purity. Give wisdom to those providing care and give our friend Your peace as they look to You each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

We thank God with you for His goodness, and we join our prayers to yours before the throne of grace.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will give you that rest of which He speaks when He says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This is a present rest, rest now, not only rest after death, but rest given when we come to Jesus, and perfect rest too. And we pray also that you may find that second rest which is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service with His yoke upon you. Learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly in heart, and in learning of Him you shall find rest unto your souls, a deep rest and an abiding rest which you shall go on to find more and more.

For those upon your heart whose health is burdened, for the lung affliction and the heart trouble of which you speak, and for quick healing, we bring them beneath the healing touch of Him who alone can say, Be thou clean. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. We pray that if it be His gracious will, He would grant restored health and quick relief, and that He would show that pardon and healing are one in His hand. For when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee. May those for whom you pray know first forgiveness of sins through faith in Him, and then healing according to His wise and tender thoughts, for His thoughts are not as our thoughts, and as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are His thoughts higher than our thoughts, constant, kind, wise and gracious toward us.

And concerning lustful thoughts, we pray that your mind may be conformed to the mind of Christ. The thoughts of God are precious and rare, and holy thoughts of His thoughts place us near to God. We pray that you may be kept from evil thoughts and that your thoughts may be brought into captivity to Christ, for if our thoughts run one way and God's thoughts run an opposite direction, we cannot have fellowship with Him. May you be enabled to adorn your life and your dwelling with such things as may lead thoughts aright, and to look to the Lord Jesus for all things, trusting Him who perceives our thoughts and who heals the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. He who has begun a saving work will Himself perfect it.

Trust and you shall rest. Return unto your rest in Christ, and abide there.
