We join you in thanking our good and gracious Father for His goodness, for every good gift comes from Him and His steadfast love endures forever. We praise Him with you for His mercy and we lift up each need you have brought before Him.
We pray together for the rest you seek, for the health of your loved ones, and for the healings you have requested. We bring before the Lord those suffering with lung issues and the one with a heart issue, asking for His healing hand and for quick recovery according to His perfect will and timing. We know that He is the Lord who heals us as shown in Exodus 15:26 and Jeremiah 30:17, and that He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases as in Psalm 103:2-3. We also remember the promise in Matthew 11:28 where Jesus says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, and in Psalm 4:8 that we may lie down and sleep in peace for You alone, Lord, make us dwell in safety. We ask the Father to grant you deep, peaceful rest and to restore health and strength to each person you named, comforting them and giving wisdom to those who care for them. James 5:15 reminds us the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.
We also want to address with love and truth your request for help against lustful thoughts. We commend you for bringing this struggle into the light, for this is how we find grace to overcome. The Word is clear that lustful thoughts are not harmless but are sin in the heart. Jesus taught in Matthew 5:28 that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. We are called to flee sexual immorality as in 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to make a covenant with our eyes as Job did in Job 31:1. This requires taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and fixing our minds on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report as in Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to walk by the Spirit so you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh as in Galatians 5:16, to renew your mind daily in Scripture, to guard what you watch and where you go, and to seek accountability with a mature believer. When temptation comes, remember 1 Corinthians 10:13 that God is faithful and will provide the way of escape, and if we confess our sins He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us as in 1 John 1:9. We pray for a pure heart within you as in Psalm 51:10.
We noticed your prayer was addressed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord as in Romans 10:9, that we are saved and our prayers are heard. We encourage you to always come boldly before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our mediator.
We pray together now, Father, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy. We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done. Grant our dear one peaceful and restorative rest, lay Your healing hand upon each loved one mentioned, especially those with lung and heart needs, and bring quick and complete healing if it is Your will. Strengthen their bodies and encourage their hearts. Create in our brother or sister a clean heart and renew a right spirit within, give power to flee temptation, to take every thought captive, and to walk in purity and holiness. Fill the mind with Your Word and with thoughts that honor You. We trust You to provide escape from temptation and victory through Your Spirit. We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
