Prayer request

Beloved of All
Dear Lord, thank you for your goodness. I pray for good rest, for ###’s health, for my ###, for healing for ## for their lung issues, for *** heart issue, and quick healing, and against lustful thoughts

We join you in giving thanks to the Lord for His goodness, for every good and perfect gift comes from Him and we rejoice with you in your grateful heart. We lift up your requests together before the Father in the name of Jesus.

We pray for good and peaceful rest for you, that the Lord would quiet your mind and body and grant you deep, restorative sleep. For he gives sleep to his beloved Psalm 127:2. We also bring before the Lord the loved ones you mentioned and their health needs. We pray for healing for the lung issues and for the heart issue, and for quick and complete healing according to His mercy. Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers 3 John 1:2. We claim His promise that says For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17 and we remember that He is the One who forgives all your sins and who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3. We ask for His healing hand upon each person you named, to strengthen lungs, to restore the heart, and to bring comfort and wholeness in His time.

We also want to lovingly address your request for help against lustful thoughts, for this is a battle many face and God calls us to purity of heart and mind. The Lord Jesus taught us that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. We are therefore called to take such thoughts seriously and to flee from them. Flee sexual immorality Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. We encourage you to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5 and to set your mind on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8. When these thoughts come, confess them quickly to God, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9, and ask Him to Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10. We pray that He will renew your mind, guard your eyes and heart, and fill you with His Spirit so that you may walk in holiness and self control.

We noticed your prayer was addressed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by trusting in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are forgiven and can boldly approach God in prayer. We encourage you to always pray in His precious name.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we thank You for Your goodness and mercy that endures forever. We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and ask for Your peace to guard our dear friend as they sleep, for healing for their loved ones who struggle with lung and heart issues, for Your hand to touch their bodies and bring quick recovery according to Your will. Lord, cleanse this heart and mind from lustful thoughts, give strength to flee temptation, and create a pure heart that desires what is holy. Fill this life with Your Holy Spirit and help them to walk in purity and in close fellowship with You. Forgive our sins and draw us ever closer to Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen.

Thank you for bringing all of this to the Lord so honestly. We hear your gratitude and also how much you are carrying for the people you love.

We are joining you in prayer for real, deep rest for you, and for healing for those with lung and heart needs. It is good to keep bringing these health concerns to God and also to stay closely connected to their doctors and care teams, letting prayer and good medical care work together. If any of them are between appointments or symptoms change, encourage them to reach out to their clinician promptly.

For the struggle with lustful thoughts, thank you for naming it plainly before God. That honesty matters. Those thoughts often grow when we are tired, lonely, or looking for comfort outside God's good design, and they lose power when we bring them into the light quickly rather than entertaining them. It can help to have a simple plan to turn your attention to the Lord the moment a thought comes, and to have one trusted, mature believer you can be honest with for encouragement and accountability.

Father, we thank You for Your goodness to this dear one and their loved ones. We ask You for peaceful rest, for Your healing hand on those with lung and heart needs, for wisdom for their doctors, and for strength to walk in purity with a clear mind. Guide each step and draw them close to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

It is good that you begin with thanksgiving for the goodness of God, for every mercy flows from His gracious hand. We join you in blessing His name and in bringing these burdens before the throne of grace.

For your prayer for good rest, we turn you to the gracious invitation of our Lord, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This is a present rest, rest now, not only rest after death, given there and then when we come to Jesus, and it is a perfect rest in Him. Scripture speaks also of a second rest, a rest after rest, for He says, Ye shall find rest. It is the rest of a learner, as we learn of Him and take His yoke upon us. True rest to the child of God is rest on the wing, rest in motion, rest in service, not with the yoke off but with the yoke on. We pray that you may know both the given rest of faith and the found rest of daily walking with Christ, a deep rest, a growing rest, an abiding rest unto your soul. Trust and you shall rest. May the Lord grant you also quiet and needful sleep as you come to Him before you go to rest, and keep your mind stayed upon Christ.

For those dear to you whose names you have laid before the Lord, and for those suffering with lung trouble and with the heart, we bring them to the great Physician. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even His leaves are full of healing virtue. He is the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and in Him pardon and healing are joined together. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, but the Lord is able to heal both body and soul, to heal the broken in heart and to bind up their wounds. We pray that He would lay His hand upon each afflicted one according to His wise and loving will, that He would grant quick healing if it so please Him, and give patience and strength if healing tarry, and above all that each one may know the forgiveness of sins in Christ Jesus, for that is the deepest healing. May they look to Him from whom abundant streams of healing flow down to men below.

For your prayer against lustful thoughts, we commend your honesty and join you in the prayer our Lord has taught us, Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Temptation in itself is perilous, and we do right to pray thus. The same trial may be a temptation from Satan and a trial from God, yet our Father knows how to keep His people. We pray that He would keep you from going into temptation, and that you would not go into it yourself, for he who prays to be led away from temptation and then walks into it is not true before God. May the Lord wash your feet from the spots of the world which we gather in these dusty pathways, and preserve you in purity and uprightness. Sanctification is the great separator of Christians from the world, and purity must be joined with charity. Watch and pray, flee the occasions that stir impure desire, and set your mind upon Christ, that your thoughts may be like His mind. He is able to keep you from staining your garments and to cause you to stand fast at the end of the day, for that evil one touches not those whom He keeps.

May the Lord hear your cry, give you rest as one who has believed and entered into rest, grant healing as seems best to His infinite wisdom, and keep you by His Spirit in holiness and peace, for Christ's sake. Amen.
