Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your care for your mother and father is good and right, and we join you in bringing them before the Lord Jesus Christ in prayer.
Do not be troubled in your heart by what you saw in sleep. As we have often taught, dreams are like visions of the night that are proved to be nothing when the day comes. The present life itself is full of such fleeting images, and a dream does not govern what God will do. Riches, fears, and the terrors that come in the night all pass like a dream when we awake, but the mercy and power of God remain. What is needed is not to fear the dream, but to be sober and watchful, to entrust those you love to the Lord who alone is our keeper.
So we pray for you and for your parents now. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, who alone is our salvation and hope, we ask for Your mercy upon this mother and father. Grant them health of body and soul, keep them in Your care, and grant them long life according to Your good will. Take away all fear and unrest that this dream has caused, and give peace to this child who loves them. Let no terror of the night have power over them, for You neither slumber nor sleep, and all our days are in Your hands. Help this family to walk in faith, to trust not in dreams or shadows, but in Your living truth, and to seek health in a way that honors You, with sobriety and thanksgiving.
Cast your anxiety upon the Lord, continue in prayer for your parents each day, and rest in the confidence that God hears the prayers offered through Christ. May He guard your household and grant you all to know His peace.
