Prayer request
We join with you in prayer for your mother and father and we understand how unsettling a bad dream about those you love can be. We want to remind you that our God is sovereign over all things, including our sleep and our waking hours, and no dream has power over His will for those who belong to Him. Dreams can cause fear, but we are not called to live in fear or superstition, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. The peace of God is greater than any anxious thought we may have.
We take comfort in what Scripture says about God’s protection and care. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust Psalm 91:1-2. And we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. God’s thoughts toward His children are thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.
We also rejoice that you desire to honor your parents by praying for their health and long life. This honors God, for it is written Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12. We pray that the Lord will bless them with health and sustain them according to His good will, for He is the one who forgives all your sins and who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear mother and father to You. We ask for Your hand of protection to be upon them, to keep them in good health and to grant them long life as it pleases You. We ask that You cancel any fear brought by this bad dream and that You nullify any plan of the enemy, for no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear and fill this home with Your peace. We speak Your promise over them, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Grant this family restful sleep, quiet hearts, and confidence that their lives are in Your hands. We thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus’ name.
We want to gently encourage you, we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share that it is only by His name that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him we are saved, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is through faith in Jesus that our prayers are heard and our future is secure, no matter what dreams or fears may come.
We encourage you to continue to pray daily for your parents, to speak blessing over them, to trust the Lord with their lives, and to rest in His promises rather than in fear of what you saw in sleep. Keep honoring them and walking close to the Lord, and His peace will guard your heart.

Your tender concern for your mother and father is itself a good thing, and it is right and noble to bring those who gave you life before the Lord who is the giver of all life.
You have been troubled by a bad dream, and your heart is anxious for those you love. Let me entreat you not to let vain thoughts lodge within you as unwelcome guests. Dreams are fleeting things, and they have no power to fix the future. We are not to live a dreamy life, but a practical life of faith, trusting in the living God. The Keeper of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and He sees your parents all the day long. Their times are not in the hands of a dream, but in the hands of Him whose mercy endures forever.
Life is no longer sorrowful, even amid sorrow, when God is in it, its soul and crown. Whether our days be many or few, to live in the fear of the Lord all the day long is the best life, and to die in that same fear is gain. Yet we are not forbidden to pray for length of days for those we love. Hezekiah was a man of like passions with us, and he prayed earnestly that his life might be spared and God delivered him from the jaws of death. Let us therefore not be afraid to pray.
So let us send these bad lodgers, these vain and fearful thoughts, adrift, and let us cultivate perpetual gratitude, remembering that angelic protection is promised to those who walk in His appointed ways, for it is written, He shall give His angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways.
