A Prayer for ### and Our Relationship Dear God, I come before You with a heart that is concerned about ###. I don’t know exactly what he is going through or why he has been acting differently toward me, but You know what is happening in his heart and mind. Lord, please watch over ### and give him peace, strength, and comfort. Whatever he may be facing, help him know that he does not have to carry it alone. Give him the courage to open up and communicate honestly about what he is feeling and going through. Please bring understanding between us. Remove confusion, fear, pride, anger, or anything else that may be creating distance between us. Help us listen to each other with patience, speak with love, and be honest without hurting one another. If something is troubling ###, Lord, please make a way for him to share it with me when he is ready. Help me have patience and wisdom rather than allowing worry or fear to take over my heart. Protect our relationship and guide us according to Your will. If there is something we need to work through, give us the strength and maturity to face it together. Let love, honesty, trust, respect, and peace guide our relationship. Lord, give me peace while I wait for answers. Help me not to assume the worst when I don't know what is happening. Remind me that I can trust You even when I don't understand the situation. Please bring clarity to ###'s heart and mine, and help us communicate openly about what is really going on. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in bringing this concern before the Lord and we thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in no other name that we are saved. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We are encouraged that you have come in His name.

We hear your heart for this young man and for your relationship and we lift both of you together before God who knows what is hidden in every heart. We are reminded In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also take comfort in Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. When we do not understand what another person is thinking or feeling, we can still trust the One who does.

We want to gently encourage you to view this relationship through the lens of biblical truth. We believe that God designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman and that any romantic relationship between a man and a woman should be approached as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. The boyfriend and girlfriend season is not to be treated as a casual partnership but as a purposeful time to seek whether God would lead you both toward holy marriage. For this reason we encourage you to ask whether you are both believers who are equally yoked, as Scripture says Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, and whether you are honoring God with purity. For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. If there has been any intimacy outside of marriage, which is fornication before God, we lovingly urge repentance and a commitment to flee from it, for Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to pursue purity together as you seek His will. Love is patient and is kind and bears all things and endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, and that kind of love is learned as we walk with Christ first.

We also pray with you for the distance and confusion you feel. The Lord desires that we walk with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace Ephesians 4:2-3. If pride, fear, anger or miscommunication has created a wall, God is able to soften hearts and open doors for honest and loving conversation. We encourage you to keep choosing patience over assumption and prayer over worry, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and to ask for wisdom, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. Protecting a relationship does not mean clinging to it at all costs, but surrendering it to God and asking Him to guide you both according to His perfect will, whether that is toward a stronger foundation for marriage or toward a loving release if it is not His path.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift up this daughter of Yours and this young man she cares for. You know his heart and mind and every burden he is carrying, even what has not been spoken. We ask that You watch over him and give him peace and strength and comfort. Where there is heaviness, bring Your light. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Give him courage to open his heart and to communicate honestly when he is ready, and give her patience and wisdom as she waits. Remove from between them anything that does not come from You, whether fear or pride or anger or misunderstanding, and help them to listen with patience and to speak with love and truth without wounding one another. Guard their hearts from assuming the worst and teach them to trust You even when they do not understand. Lord, we ask that You protect what is of You in this relationship and guide them both according to Your will. If this courtship is to lead to a godly marriage that honors You, make that path clear and give them maturity and strength to face what needs to be worked through together. If it is not Your will, give them grace to accept Your leading with peace. Let love and honesty and trust and respect and purity mark all they do. Fill her heart with Your peace as she waits and remind her that You are near and that You care deeply for her future. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We hear how much you care for ### and how unsettling it is when someone you love seems distant and you don't know why. Waiting without answers can make the mind race, and we appreciate the way you are asking for patience and clarity instead of assuming the worst.

That space between noticing something has changed and getting to talk about it is often the hardest part. It helps to separate what you have actually observed from the story worry wants to tell about it, and to bring that worry to the Lord as it comes up so it doesn't drive the conversation.

When you do have a chance to talk, it may help to choose a calm, unhurried moment and keep it simple. You could share briefly what you have noticed and how you have been feeling, using gentle language, and invite him to share when he feels ready without pressing for an immediate answer. If he needs time, giving that space can itself be a way of showing respect and care, and it often makes honest communication more possible later.

We are praying for you both in this waiting.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask that You would give him peace and strength for whatever he is carrying, and give our friend wisdom, patience and a quiet heart as she waits. Help them both to listen well, to speak honestly with kindness, and to seek Your will above all else. Guide their steps and bring clarity in Your timing. In Jesus' name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer reveals a heart that is anxious and tender, and it is good that you have brought it before the Lord who sees what is hidden and knows the heart of man altogether.

You do well to ask for peace and strength for him, and for wisdom and patience for yourself, yet remember that the first and deepest need of every soul is to be healed by Christ Himself. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation, not only in what we might call the great fruits of His work, but even in the least thing about Him. The leaves of that blessed tree are for the healing of the nations, and they change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Pardon and healing are joined together in Him. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, and pardon and healing were one. Whatever distance or confusion now troubles you, take your own heart first to this Physician of souls.

You ask for understanding and for the removal of fear, pride, anger and confusion. These are indeed great ills, and they spring from a brokenness of heart which only God can bind up. He heals the broken in heart, but the healing is His own work. So long as you trust in your own feelings, your own reasonings, or even your own prayers and tears, you shall not find settled peace. If you say, Lord, I cannot trust Thee unless I feel this or that, you make a god out of your feelings. You are to trust Him for the very thing you lack. As a sick man does not say to the physician, I will trust you when I am already better, but trusts him while he is yet ill, so you must trust Christ now, while you are yet sinking, and you shall find that in trusting Him you shall swim, in feeling yourself dying you shall live.

Do not let worry take dominion over you, nor assume the worst when the Lord has not yet given light. They that trust in Him shall not be ashamed nor confounded. They must start on their walk before they feel the healing, but as they are going they shall feel it. Wait upon the Lord with a quiet submission to His holy will. True love, honesty, trust and respect are indeed to be desired, but they can only flourish where Christ is Lord and where His Word is obeyed.

Therefore seek first that both of you may be found in Christ, for there is salvation in no other. If you have not yet trusted your soul wholly to Jesus, trust Him now with that one soul, for He is able to save all who trust Him. And concerning your relationship, pray not simply that it may be preserved as you desire, but that God may guide you according to His perfect and holy will. His will for love between a man and a woman is a lifelong covenant of marriage, and that alone is the place for the union of hearts and bodies. Whatever is outside that holy covenant, however strong the affection, is not to be blessed but to be brought into obedience to Christ. Ask the Lord to make you both pure, to give you courage to speak honestly and to listen patiently, and to grant you maturity to face what must be faced together in truth and in holiness. If it be His will to lead you toward such a covenant in the Lord, pray that He will make that path plain in purity and in the counsel of godly brethren. If it be not His will, pray for grace to accept His better way.

Seek the counsel of your pastor and walk in the light of Scripture, with much prayer and with faith that comes by hearing the Word of God. Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed when the Lord draws near. May He dwell with you, forgive your iniquity, and rise upon you with healing in His wings, and may you learn simply to trust Him, and to trust Him only, until you know His love and His peace in full measure.

We will pray with you that the Lord will watch over you both, that He will give to each a humble and honest heart, that He will grant pardon and healing through Jesus Christ, and that He will bring clarity in His own time, so that whatever you do may be to His glory and to your lasting good.
