Prayer for my relationship

Heavenly Father, I’m coming to You again tonight with ### heavy on my heart. Hours have passed, and I still haven’t heard from him since yesterday. Lord, You know where he is, You know what he is doing, and You know everything that I cannot see or understand right now. Please, wherever ### is, surround him with Your protection. Keep him safe from harm, danger, accidents, and anything that could threaten him. Place Your angels around him and guide his steps. Whatever situation he may be facing, please give him strength, wisdom, peace, and protection. Father, please put it on his heart to reach out to his wife, ###, as soon as possible. Let him send a message or make contact so she can know that he is safe and okay. Please make a way for communication to happen. And Lord, while I wait, please calm my heart. Take away the fear, anxiety, and thoughts that are making me worry. Help me remember that You are with ### even when I cannot reach him. Give me patience and peace while I wait for him to communicate. Please watch over him tonight. Keep him covered, protected, and surrounded by Your love and grace. And when the time is right, let me hear from him and know that he is okay. I place ### completely in Your hands, Lord, because I know You can reach him wherever he is. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We join you in bringing your husband before the Lord tonight and we hear the heaviness and worry in your heart as you wait to hear from him. It is right and good for a wife to pray for her husband and to desire communication and reassurance in marriage, for marriage is honorable and God has joined a husband and wife together as one flesh as we see in Genesis 2:24 and Hebrews 13:4.

We are encouraged by your trust in the Lord even in this anxious waiting, for you have acknowledged that God knows where he is and what he is doing when you cannot see. We want to remind you of what scripture says about casting your cares on Him. 1 Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for us. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. The Lord is near to those who are worried and waiting, and Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We pray together for your husband and for you.

Father, in Jesus name we come before You together and lift up this husband to You. Wherever he is tonight, we ask that You surround him with Your protection and keep him safe from harm, danger and accident. We ask that You place Your angels around him for Psalm 91:11 says he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. Give him strength, wisdom and peace for whatever situation he is facing and guide his steps according to Your will. Lord, we ask that You would put it on his heart to reach out to his wife soon, to make a way for communication to happen so that she may know he is safe and be comforted. And Father we lift up this dear wife who is waiting, we ask You to calm her heart and take away fear and anxious thoughts. Help her to remember that You are with her husband even when she cannot reach him. Fill her with Your patience and Your peace that surpasses understanding and guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding as Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches, and remind her that You have said in Isaiah 41:10 do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Watch over this marriage tonight and keep them both covered by Your love and grace. We place this husband completely in Your hands, trusting that You can reach him wherever he is, and we ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

We've been thinking about you as you wait through these quiet hours without hearing from your husband. That kind of silence can make the mind race and the heart feel unsettled, and it makes sense you are feeling anxious and on edge.

We are joining you in asking God to keep him safe wherever he is tonight and to make a way for you to hear from him soon. While you wait, it can help not to carry this alone. If there is a trusted family member or close friend who knows you both, consider letting them know you are waiting and worried, so someone can sit with you in this and help you think through a next step if needed, like when to try contact again or who else might have word of him.

You are doing the right thing bringing this to the Lord and placing your husband in His hands. We are praying with you for peace to steady you through the night.

Father, we lift this husband to You wherever he is and ask You to keep him safe and guide him. We ask You to open a way for communication so his wife can know he is okay. And we ask You to calm her heart, quiet fearful thoughts, and give her Your peace and patience as she waits. We trust him to Your care in Jesus' name, Amen.

You have poured out your heart in a time of waiting and heaviness, and such prayers are not lost upon the Lord who hears the cries of His people. The word of promise meets you in this very trial, "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." This is peace, perfect peace, even with loved ones far away, for in Jesus' keeping we are safe, and they are safe.

It is the mind which is the main thing, and when the mind is stayed upon God it will bring you peace even while sorrows surge around. I know how anxiety unfits us to meet difficulty, how it presses and wearies the soul, but to do the will of Jesus, to trust Him and rest in Him, this is rest. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace is a present possession to be enjoyed even in the ordinary cares and separations of life.

You have done well to place your husband in the hands of God, for your soul trusts in Him and in the shadow of His wings you may make your refuge until these calamities pass. He is a waiting God who waits to be gracious, and His people are a waiting people, not waiting in despair but in joyous and assured hope. If you can but look to the cross and trust wholly to the Lamb of God, you shall find that waiting upon the Lord breeds peace within the soul, and when a man is perfectly at rest within, he cares little for trials or foes. Waiting upon the Lord also makes the world grow small and shows its affairs in their real littleness, while Christ Himself grows great and near.

Therefore only trust Him, only trust Him, only trust Him now. Trust your merciful God to keep you, to forgive you, to bear you through the trials you are expecting. You are not to have joy and peace before you trust Him, you are to trust Him for this very thing. As you feel yourself sinking, trust Him and you shall swim. Cast yourself at Jehovah's feet as He has revealed Himself in Christ Jesus, and so shall you be at peace with Him and good shall come unto you.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You know where Your servant is and what he does, for nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask You to surround this husband with Your protection, to keep him safe from harm and danger and accident, to place Your angels about him and guide his steps. Give him strength and wisdom and peace in whatever situation he faces. And in Your mercy, move his heart to send word to his wife, that she may know he is safe. Make a way for communication according to Your wisdom. While she waits, we ask You to calm her heart, to take away fear and anxious thoughts, to keep her in perfect peace as her mind is stayed on You. Help her to remember that You are with him even when she cannot reach him, and to wait patiently for You, for they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. Let Your peace, which is Your own child and bears Your own character, keep her heart and mind through Jesus Christ. We place this household, this marriage covenant which You have ordained, into Your faithful hands, asking that You would bless Your people with peace. In the name of Jesus Christ our peace, who has made peace by His blood, Amen.

Your prayer has been received and I have heard the heaviness and waiting in your heart. It is right and good that you have turned to the Lord in this anxious hour, for He is not far off but present everywhere, near to those who call upon Him in earnest. The Scripture says that while we are yet speaking, He answers, Here I am. He stands ready to hear when we call as we ought, and He has not refused you.

God honors the covenant of marriage, for a wife is bound to her husband as long as he lives, and this bond is holy before Him. Your desire for your husband's safety and for restored communication is a faithful desire, and it is right to bring it before the Lord.

Let us pray together for him and for you.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have access to You, I lift up this husband to You. Wherever he is, You see him and know his path. Surround him with Your protection, keep him from harm and danger and accident, and give him strength, wisdom and peace in whatever situation he faces. Guide his steps and place Your care around him. Put it on his heart to reach out to his wife soon, so that she may know he is safe. Make a way for that communication according to Your mercy.

And Father, I lift up this wife who waits. You see her fear and anxiety and the thoughts that trouble her. Calm her heart and give her patience and peace while she waits. Help her to remember that You are with her husband even when she cannot reach him, and that You are with her also. Teach her to cast all her care upon You, and to love You above all, knowing that You are the immortal Protector who loves her better than any other, and who never leaves those who trust in Him. Where there is uncertainty, grant trust. Where there is fear, grant peace that comes from following after peace and holiness before You.

We place this husband and this marriage completely in Your hands, trusting that You are able to reach him wherever he is and to keep him. We ask not from demanding, but from trust in Your goodness and nearness. Let Your will be done, and when the time is right, grant this wife to hear from her husband and to be comforted.
