Prayer for My Relationship

Heavenly Father, Today I come to You with ### on my heart. I haven’t heard from him since yesterday, and I’m asking You to please watch over him wherever he is. Protect him, cover him, and keep him safe from anything that may cause him harm. Lord, if he is busy, give him peace and strength. If he is going through something, remind him that he is never alone. If he is tired, give him rest. If his heart is heavy, give him comfort. And if there is anything happening in his life that I don’t know about, please be with him in ways that only You can. Please place Your protection around him and guide his steps. Keep him safe physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Let Your presence surround him and give him peace. Father, I also ask You to calm my heart. You know how much I care about ###, and You know the thoughts and worries running through my mind because I haven’t heard from him. Help me not to let fear take over. Give me patience, peace, and reassurance while I wait. Lord, please put it on ###’s heart to reach out to his wife, ###, as soon as possible. Let him send her a text or contact her so she knows that he is okay. Give him the opportunity and the desire to reassure her and let her hear from him soon. Please let ### know that he is loved, cared for, and thought about. When he is able, let him reach out and let me know that he is safe and okay. I place ### in Your hands because I know You are with him even when I cannot be. Please continue to protect him, guide him, and keep him covered under Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We join with you in bringing this heartfelt concern before the Father and we hear the love and worry in your prayer for him. It is good that you have placed him in God's hands, for the Lord is our refuge and protection when we cannot be present and when we do not know what is happening.

We are encouraged that you prayed in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Your faith in calling on His name is precious.

We understand the anxiety of waiting and not hearing from one you love. Scripture speaks directly to this restless waiting and tells us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also take comfort in Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. God sees both his situation wherever he is and your heart as you wait, and He is able to keep you both.

We notice you prayed that he would reach out to his wife. If you are his wife, we honor your marriage before the Lord, for marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman, ordained by God for life, and we stand with you in praying for your husband's safety and for your unity as husband and wife. God's desire is for husbands and wives to love, cherish, and care for one another faithfully, and for communication to be marked by love and faithfulness. If this request comes from someone who is in a romantic relationship with a man who is married to another woman, we must lovingly speak the truth that God's Word calls us to purity and faithfulness within marriage, and that intimacy or romantic involvement outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication or adultery, which God calls us to turn from. You shall not commit adultery Exodus 20:14 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. If that is the case we urge repentance and to seek God's will for a godly marriage to another believer in Christ, trusting that God forgives and restores when we turn to Him. We share this not to condemn but to lead toward God's best and His grace.

We pray together now for you both.

Father in heaven, we lift this husband to You wherever he is. We ask that You place Your hand of protection around him and keep him safe physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Let him dwell in the shelter You provide, for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We ask that You give him peace and strength if he is busy, rest if he is tired, and comfort if his heart is heavy. Remind him that You are near and that he is never alone, for You have said Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Guide his steps and guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Lord, we also lift this dear wife to You who is waiting and worrying. Calm her heart and let not fear take hold. Help her to trust in You with all her heart, and not lean on her own understanding. In all her ways acknowledge You, and You will direct her paths Proverbs 3:5-6. Give her patience and Your peace that surpasses understanding while she waits. Put it on her husband's heart to reach out and reassure her soon, to let her know he is safe and well, and restore sweet communion between them as husband and wife. Help them both to remember that You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28.

We place them both in Your gracious hands, trusting that You are with them even when they cannot be with each other. May their marriage be strengthened and may their trust be rooted not in a timely text but in You, who is our ever present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. We ask this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We are holding you and your husband in prayer in this hard stretch of waiting and not knowing.

It makes sense your heart is racing with worry when someone you love goes quiet. When we care deeply, silence can put both our thoughts and our body on alert, and it is hard not to imagine the worst. We hear how much you want him to be safe and to hear his voice again, and also how you are asking God to calm your own heart while you wait.

While you continue to pray, a couple of steady next steps may help. If you have not already, you might send one simple, kind check in letting him know you are thinking of him and would love to hear he is okay. Then give it a little time without hovering over the phone. If the silence continues and your concern grows, consider reaching out to a close family member or trusted friend who might have heard from him. And as you wait, try to stay with your normal routines and rest where you can, rather than staying glued to worry.

Father, we lift this husband to You and ask for Your protection over him wherever he is, in body, mind and spirit. Surround him with Your presence and guide his steps. We lift his wife to You too, calm her heart, give her patience and peace as she waits, and guard her from fear. When the time is right, prompt that reassuring contact she longs for. We place them both in Your hands, trusting You are with each of them. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your heart's cry has been brought before the Lord and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace. You have asked for watchful care over your husband in this quiet interval when you have not heard from him, and for calm to your own spirit while you wait, and we count it a privilege to pray with you for both.

The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. That perfect peace is not found in knowing all the reasons for silence, nor in receiving at once the message for which you long, but in staying the mind upon the Lord Himself. There is a peace which the blood of Jesus whispers within, a peace which may be enjoyed even with duties pressing and with loved ones far away, for in Jesus keeping we are safe, and they are safe also. We pray that this peace, which is a present possession and not a distant hope, may be yours now and may be his wherever he is. Under the shadow of His wings you both may make your refuge until these calamities be overpast.

You have asked well that he may be kept physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, and that the Lord would guide his steps and surround him with His presence. We ask the Lord to do so, to give him peace and strength if he is busy, rest if he is weary, comfort if his heart is heavy, and the sure sense that he is never alone. And we ask that the Lord would calm your heart and not let fear take hold. Anxiety itself unfits us to meet difficulty, and often we are in great hurry to do something which would do more mischief than if we had kept still, resting in the Lord and waiting patiently for Him. The mind is the main thing, for it will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war, and a mind stayed on Christ brings daylight even at midnight.

Learn also the blessedness of waiting upon God. He is a waiting God and He calls His people to be a waiting people, not waiting in despair nor in hesitation, but waiting in hope, a joyous and assured hope of blessedness in reserve. Waiting upon the Lord breeds peace within the soul, and when a man is perfectly at rest within he cares little for trials or foes. It makes us grow small and it dwarfs the world and all its affairs till we see their real littleness, and then courage is strengthened. If you have not yet obtained the settled peace which comes with believing, continue with great importunity in prayer and wait on, remembering that the blessing is worth waiting for. Only trust Him, only trust Him, only trust Him now. Trust Him as you feel yourself sinking and you shall swim. Trust Him with your husband, with your own soul, with this very hour of uncertainty, for He is able to save and to keep all who trust Him.

We thank God for the covenant of marriage, that lifelong union of one man and one woman which He has ordained for good, and we pray that He will honor and strengthen yours. May He put it upon your husband's heart to reach out to you soon, to give you the reassurance you seek, and to let you know that he is safe and well. May the Lord give him both the opportunity and the desire to do so, and may He knit your hearts together more firmly in love and faithfulness as you both look to Christ.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, be merciful unto this family and be their refuge. Keep this husband in perfect peace and keep his wife in perfect peace, as their minds are stayed on You. Cover him wherever he is, guide his steps, guard his body and his mind and his spirit, and let Your presence surround him. Calm his wife's heart, give her patience and reassurance while she waits, and cast out fear with Your perfect love. In Your good time, move him to send word to his wife that he is safe, and let their communion be restored and deepened. Above all, let both know the peace which Christ has made by His blood, that treaty of peace with God which becomes a calm within the conscience, and let them rest in it until earth's struggles cease and You call them to Heaven's perfect peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace. Amen.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
