Please pray for my family and for my relationship

Thank you for sharing your heart and allowing us to pray with you for your family and for your own health. Your love and concern for those closest to you is precious to God, for Scripture teaches that caring for the needs of our own household is part of honoring Him, and that honoring father and mother holds a very high place in His eyes.

At the center of every concern you have mentioned is your relationship with God. That vertical relationship is the axis on which all of life turns. When that relationship is right, every other relationship begins to find its proper balance. When it is out of order, other relationships also become strained. The first commands God gave deal with our walk with Him, because unless that is made right, we cannot hope for our relationships with others to be right. In the same way, many times we try to fix one relationship by focusing only on that relationship, and while we do, other areas begin to suffer. God invites us to put Him first, to seek a loving and living fellowship with Him as Father through Jesus Christ, not a ritual or legal observance. Through Jesus we are adopted into His family, born again by His Spirit, and we can come to Him as our Father. Sin is what separates us from Him, but Jesus has made a way for that fellowship to be restored. When we abide in Him, the good fruit in our lives comes as a natural result of that relationship.

God does care about your physical health and the health of your loved ones. Scripture shows Jesus healing the leper, the centurion's servant, Peter's mother in law and many others, revealing His compassion and His power over sickness. At the same time, the well known words about prospering and being in health even as your soul prospers were written as a loving wish from one believer to another, not as an unconditional promise that we will never face illness. There is a real connection between the health of our soul and the health of our body, and God is interested in our whole well being, yet we trust His wisdom and sovereignty in every outcome.

So we join you in prayer, asking our Father in Jesus name for His mercy and presence.

We ask Him to watch over your family, to grant many more years together in health and happiness according to His will, and to give you peace as you entrust each one to Him. For those suffering with headaches, we ask for His relief and comfort. For those facing the fear of cancer, and for your loved one going through hospital tests today, we ask for the Lord's nearness, for skill and clarity for those providing care, and for results that are used for good in God's hands. We pray that whatever the findings are, you will know His strength and peace.

We also pray for the healing of your relationship and for closeness to be restored. We ask that God would first deepen your own walk with Him, and that out of that right relationship with Him, He would shape all your other relationships. May He teach you to walk in love, with unity, compassion, kindness and courtesy toward one another, not returning evil for evil, but seeking what honors Him. We pray that this relationship would be made whole in a way that reflects His design and His holiness, for His design for intimate love is within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and every relationship is most blessed when it is surrendered to His purposes.

For your own appointment and health concerns, we ask God to open the right doors for care, to give you calm confidence in Him, and to let you rest in His love regardless of what the results show. Above all we pray that your soul would prosper in fellowship with Jesus, knowing you are fully loved and fully His through faith in Christ alone, for that is the foundation for every other blessing.

May the Lord draw you close to Himself, deepen your trust in Him, and let His love flow through you to your family and to all those you love.
