We hear your heart, and we lift this situation before the Lord with great care and compassion. First, we must address the foundation of your prayer, it is essential to come before God in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6). Salvation and access to God’s throne come only through faith in Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Him, for He alone can bring true healing and restoration.
Now, regarding your relationship with ###, we must gently but firmly address some concerns in light of Scripture. The Bible is clear that relationships between a man and a woman are to be pursued with the intent of marriage, as marriage is the only God-ordained union for intimacy and commitment (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4). If you and ### are not married, we must rebuke any sin of fornication that may have occurred, for sexual intimacy outside of marriage is contrary to God’s design (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Repentance and a commitment to purity are necessary for God’s blessing to rest upon your relationship.
We also urge you to examine whether this relationship aligns with God’s will. The Bible calls believers to be equally yoked with their spouses (2 Corinthians 6:14), meaning they should share the same faith in Christ. If ### is not a follower of Jesus, this relationship may lead to spiritual conflict and heartache. We pray that if it is God’s will for you both, ### would come to know Christ as his Savior, for only then can your relationship be built on a foundation that honors God.
With these truths in mind, we join you in praying for reconciliation, but we do so with a heart submitted to God’s will, not our own desires. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your mercy and grace to rest upon ### and ###. Lord, You know the depths of their hearts, the hurts they carry, and the love they once shared. We ask that You soften ###’s heart, removing any bitterness, anger, or unforgiveness that may be hindering him. Help him to release these burdens at the foot of the cross, where You have already paid the price for all sin (Ephesians 4:31-32).
We pray for ### as well, Lord. Give her patience as she waits, and help her to trust in Your timing. Guard her heart from discouragement and overthinking, reminding her that she has done what she can by seeking forgiveness. Teach her to rest in You, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). If it is Your will, Lord, open the door for honest, loving communication between them. Let Your peace rule in their hearts, and let Your love guide their words and actions (Colossians 3:15).
But Father, we also surrender this relationship to You. If it is not Your will for them to be together, give ### the strength to accept that and to trust You with her future. Help her to seek Your kingdom first, knowing that You will provide all she needs (Matthew 6:33). If ### is not the man You have for her, prepare her heart to let go and to wait for the spouse You have chosen for her, a godly man who will love her as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25).
We rebuke any spirit of division, pride, or unforgiveness that may be at work in this situation. We declare healing over their hearts and restoration of trust, but only if it aligns with Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in all things, and may ### and ### both grow closer to You through this trial. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to seek godly counsel from mature believers who can help you navigate this season with wisdom. Surround yourself with a community of faith that will pray for you and hold you accountable. Remember, God’s plans for you are good, and He desires to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).
