Your willingness to bring this longing before God is a good and honest step, and the ache of waiting while not knowing what another person is thinking is very real. The desire to hear from him, to have hurt or distance removed, and to have fear quieted are all understandable, and God invites you to bring them to Him as Father.
Scripture speaks often about the patience of hope. It is learning to wait upon God and upon His timing, confident that He is at work even when we cannot see it. We are told in Hebrews that we have need of patience, that after we have done the will of God we might receive the promise, and that others through faith and patience inherited what God had promised. James encourages us to be patient and to establish our hearts, because the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the harvest. God Himself is the God of patience. Peter reminds us that what can feel like slowness is actually His patience, for He is not willing that any should perish but is giving time for His purposes to be fulfilled. The Scriptures were given to give us that same patience and comfort, so that hope can grow while we wait.
That waiting is not meant to be lived in fear. Scripture contrasts a spirit of bondage that leads back to fear with the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba, Father. God does not want a distant, merely legal relationship with you. He wants a close, loving, intimate relationship where you know you are His child and He is your Father. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, because that nearness is what He desires for you. When that vertical relationship is right, it becomes the center that steadies every other relationship. If our fellowship with God is out of balance, our relationships with others will be as well, but when we walk closely with Him, He brings perspective and balance to the rest of life.
In this season of uncertainty, it helps to place your desire for reconciliation fully in His hands and to ask first for His will to be done. God loves you and wants what is best for you, and His design for romantic love is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, with intimacy reserved for within that covenant. Rather than asking Him simply to bring about what we want, we can ask Him to lead both of you into what is holy, wise, and good, whether that is a restored and God honoring path forward together or a gracious and clear path forward apart. You can pray that any misunderstanding or hurt would be healed, and also ask Him to search your own heart, to show you what is right before Him, and to help you follow it.
May the Lord give you patience as you wait, comfort from His Word, and peace that guards your heart from fear. May He deepen your confidence as His daughter, help you to rest in His love, and make His guidance clear step by step. If reconciliation is in keeping with His will and would be good for both of you in His sight, ask Him to open that door in His way and time. If not, ask Him to close it gently and to lead you into the hope and wholeness that comes from waiting for His Son from heaven, Jesus who was raised from the dead and who delivers us from the wrath to come. Trust that He hears you, that He is patient and faithful, and that He will provide the strength to trust Him even while you wait.
