Disciple of Prayer
I have so much doubt and hatred for all the people around me. Specifically, they are people who robbed me off peace, joy, opportunities, and restful sleep. These days all I think about is vengance. Please pray so God heals me in Jesus name Amen.

We hear the deep pain and turmoil in your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your request to the Lord. The bitterness, hatred, and desire for vengeance you describe are heavy burdens, but we know that Christ came to set the captives free, including those bound by unforgiveness and anger. The Word of God tells us, "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.' To the contrary, 'if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.' Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:19-21 WEB).

Your feelings are valid, and we do not dismiss the wrongs done to you. However, holding onto hatred and vengeance only poisons your own soul. Jesus taught us, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). Forgiveness is not about excusing their actions but about releasing yourself from the chains of bitterness. It is a choice, not a feeling, and it is a command from the Lord.

We also want to gently remind you that healing and peace come only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or made whole (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with pain, hatred, and a desire for vengeance. Lord, You see the wounds in their soul and the injustices they have endured. We ask that You would heal their heart, mind, and spirit. Replace their bitterness with Your peace, their hatred with Your love, and their desire for vengeance with a trust in Your justice. Help them to release these burdens to You, knowing that You are the ultimate Judge and Redeemer.

Father, we pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the strength to forgive those who have wronged them. Soften their heart and remind them of the forgiveness You have shown them through Christ. Help them to walk in Your ways, overcoming evil with good. Lord, we also ask that You would restore their joy, peace, and restful sleep. Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are their Comforter and Healer.

We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We speak healing over their body, mind, and emotions in the mighty name of Jesus. May they find their identity and worth in You alone, and may they walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them.

We pray all of this in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, meditating on His promises. Psalm 34:18-19 says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this battle. Lean on the Lord, seek godly counsel, and surround yourself with believers who can pray for and encourage you. The journey to healing may not be easy, but it is possible with Christ. Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He will restore what has been stolen from you.

We hear the heavy load you’re carrying, and we’re sitting with you in it. When people steal your peace, joy, and even rest, the anger that rises can feel like the only thing left that’s yours. The thoughts of vengeance make sense as a way to try to reclaim what was taken. But we’ve seen that holding onto that anger and replaying the wrongs actually deepens the wound, the bitterness grows like a root that strangles our own heart, not the ones who hurt us.

It might help to notice what’s often underneath the hatred: profound grief and hurt over experiences and opportunities that are genuinely lost. That grief deserves to be acknowledged. You don’t have to pretend it didn’t happen or rush to feel better. Healing often starts when we bring the raw hurt to God and let ourselves grieve it there.

A small, steady next step might be, each time a vengeful thought surfaces, to pause and silently hand it over: “Lord, I release this debt to You. I can’t carry it anymore. Heal this place in me.” You may have to do it a hundred times a day at first, that’s okay. It’s not about mustering forgiveness on your own, but about loosening your grip so God can do the deep mending.

We’re praying with you now.

Jesus, You see how this anger and pain have stolen rest and consumed this dear person’s thoughts. Come gently into that bruised place. Heal the memories and the loss, and quiet the craving for vengeance. Replace hatred with Your peace that doesn’t depend on others making things right. Give courage to release each wrong into Your hands, day by day, until the weight lifts. Surround with people who will listen and carry this burden alongside. In Your name, Amen.

The Christian religion is a golden chain with which the hands of men are fettered from all hatred. The spirit of Christ is love. Wherever he governs, love reigns as a necessary consequence. Thou hast no right to excrete thy hatred upon any creature, however fallen or debased, however much he may irritate thy temper, or injure thee in thy estate or reputation. The most splendid vengeance you can ever have is to do good to them that do you evil, and to speak well of them that speak ill of you.

Consider what evil has already done thee. Oh, what a world of mischief sin has brought into thy heart! Yet there is forgiveness. Let this whisper drive away despair! What a blessed whisper it is! There is forgiveness. There is forgiveness. Let it enter your soul and drive those grim ogres and hobgoblins of despair away into the sea of forgetfulness. There is forgiveness. That is a matter of certainty. Where God draws no limit, do not you draw any! However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness with God even for you.

Do as Martin Luther did, in the days of his dark distress, when a brother monk said to him, "Do you not believe in the Creed, and do you not say, 'I believe in the forgiveness of sins'? Now believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself." Believe it and go your way in peace! He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but he continues daily to forgive, for the act of forgiveness is a continuous one. This forgiveness which God has given us for Christ’s sake is an eternal forgiveness.

The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Peace, perfect peace! What a Heaven lies within! With sorrows surging round, in Jesus' keeping we are safe. There is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. It yields a calm so deep, so profound, that it can only be called the peace of God which passes all understanding. He came on earth to die, that sinners might not die, is that a cause of hatred? Ought I to hate the Saviour, because he came to quench the flames of hell for me? He came to heal, and first forgiveness, then healing. Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers. It is enough. Earth's struggles soon shall cease, and Jesus calls us to Heaven's perfect peace. There is forgiveness. Now, at this moment there is forgiveness. Doubt it not.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
