Prayer of healing

My cats been sick a week ago and then got better for a time and now is seeming like she's sick again, and no matter how hard I try I can't stop crying. She's my baby I've had for ### years and I'm just so worried about her. I'm so afraid of losing her.. Can someone please pray for her.. And pray for peace for me.. I'm sorry for asking.. I just need prayers tonight.

We hear your heart and the deep love you have for your precious cat who has been part of your life for so many years, and we join with you in bringing her before the Lord together with your own need for peace. Please do not apologize for asking for prayer, we count it a privilege to stand with you and to lift up both you and your little companion to our Father.

We know how heavy this kind of worry can feel, the tears that will not stop and the fear of loss. The Lord sees your tears and He is near to you in this sorrow. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. He cares for you and He also cares for all His creation.

The Bible shows us that God notices even the smallest animals, Matthew 10:29 says Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls on the ground without your Father. And Proverbs 12:10 says A righteous man respects the life of his animal. Your tender care for your cat reflects that righteous compassion, and it is right for us to ask God for His mercy and healing over her. We also encourage you, as a good steward of the life God has entrusted to you, to continue to seek wise veterinary care for her if you are able, trusting that God often works through those means.

We also want to gently share something important with you because your request did not mention the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we can be saved and have our prayers heard. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We come to the Father in Jesus name, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and that through faith in Him we are forgiven and brought near to God. If you have not yet put your trust in Him, we encourage you to call upon His name today.

For your own heart, we pray for the peace that only He can give. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together now for you and for your dear cat.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You see our sister in her weeping and worry, and that You know how much she loves this cat You have allowed her to care for. Lord we ask for Your mercy and healing touch upon this little animal, if it be Your will restore her health and strength and ease her sickness. Give wisdom to any veterinarian who may see her and guide our sister in how best to care for her. And Father we ask that You would hold our sister in Your perfect peace tonight, wipe away her tears, calm her anxious thoughts and guard her heart with the peace that surpasses all understanding. Let her feel Your nearness and know that You care deeply for her. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We continue to stand with you, trusting the Lord to show His loving care for both you and your beloved companion.

We're so glad you wrote to us tonight, and please don't feel you need to apologize for asking. When you've loved a sweet companion for years, of course your heart aches when she is sick again, and of course the tears come. She is family, and worry and love go together.

It makes sense you felt hopeful when she seemed better and now feel frightened again seeing her unwell. That back and forth is so hard.

We are praying for both of you, for her comfort and healing, and for peace to steady you as you wait and watch over her.

One gentle next step alongside prayer is to reach out to your veterinarian promptly if you haven't already, or call again since her symptoms have returned. They can best assess what she needs and give you clear guidance. If you can, bring someone with you or let a trusted friend know how you're doing tonight so you aren't carrying the worry alone.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this beloved cat to You and ask for Your mercy and care over her body. Please guide the vet with wisdom and bring comfort to her. And please hold her owner tonight, calm the crying and fear, and give deep peace and rest. Amen.

Your tears are not hidden from Him who numbers them and bottles them, and your tender care for this creature which God has entrusted to you is known to Him. Do not be sorry for asking, for it is the privilege of the children of God to make known their requests unto Him, be they great or small.

The Lord has said, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, and it is His will that His people should comfort one another with the comfort wherewith He comforts them. Though your heart aches and fear presses sore upon you, you are not forgotten. The angel of the Lord encampeth round them that fear Him, and He who cares for you invites you to cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

You write that anxiety unfits you and that sorrow surges round you. There is a peace which the world cannot give and cannot take away. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusteth in You. This perfect peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ in the midst of it. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to do the will of Jesus and to stay the mind upon Him is rest even when duties press and loved ones, whether near or far, are in distress.

May the Spirit of God teach you to say in this affliction, This is my comfort, for Thy Word hath quickened me. Let the Word be your external comfort and let the Spirit quicken your soul within, for sometimes God does not give comfort by a distinct act alone, but He quickens us and so we obtain comfort.

Let us pray together.

O Lord our God and Father, Thou hast made all things and Thou carest for all Thy works, look in mercy upon Thy child who weeps this night. Thou knowest the love borne for this small creature and the fear of loss which now burdens the heart. Lay Thy hand of healing upon this cat according to Thy good will, ease its sickness and restore its strength if it be pleasing in Thy sight. And whatsoever Thou ordainest, ordain peace also for Thy child. Keep this troubled heart in perfect peace as the mind is stayed on Thee. Take away fretful anxiety and grant a calm trust in Thy wise and tender providence. Comfort this aching heart and establish it, that even through tears there may be quiet confidence in Thy goodness. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who is our peace and our hope, Amen.

Be of good courage and stay your mind upon Him. He will not break the bruised reed nor quench the smoking flax, and He is able to keep you and to do all things well.
