Beloved of All
Your burden over this injustice is heard, and it is right to bring it to the Lord. To watch opportunities taken away in your own land, to see power used to favor one group while others are pushed aside, and to feel that those who should protect workers have not acted, is a heavy oppression. God sees what is done in secret and in the open, and He does not overlook the cries of those who are treated unfairly.
The psalmist knew this kind of mourning and prayed, why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy, and why do you hide your face and forget our affliction. In that same place he prayed, send out your light and your truth, let them lead me. That is a good prayer for you now. Ask God to send His light and His truth into these workplaces, into the decisions of managers and owners, and into the governing authorities who are responsible for justice. Ask Him to expose what is hidden, to correct what is crooked, and to lead you and your community in His way even while you wait for answers.
Do not put God in a box in this situation. In the law God even made a way for a leper to be declared clean, though leprosy was considered incurable. He left room for Himself to work a miracle if He desired. In the same way, do not conclude that this pattern of favoritism and retrenchment is beyond His reach. What looks fixed and incurable to us is not beyond the Lord. Give Him room to work according to His wisdom, whether by opening another door of provision for you, by changing hearts in authority, or by bringing justice in His timing.
At the same time, guard your own heart. Scripture warns not to make provision for the flesh to fulfill its desires, and to put on the Lord Jesus Christ instead. When injustice continues, it is easy to give place to strife, envying, bitterness, or hatred toward a whole group of people. Make no provision for those things. Do not let them take root. Choose to walk in purity, holiness, and truth, and to commit your cause to God who judges righteously. Pray for those in power, even those who have acted unjustly, that they would act with fairness and fear of God.
Above all, remember that God has made only one provision for our deepest need, the forgiveness of sins, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. As those who looked at the bronze serpent in the wilderness lived, so all who look in faith to Jesus lifted up on the cross receive new life and have His righteousness counted as their own. If you have not already, place your trust fully in Him. If you have, rest in the witness of the Holy Spirit that you are forgiven and accounted righteous by faith.
I pray for you now that the Lord would provide for your daily needs, that He would grant you favor and wisdom as you seek work, that He would move upon employers and leaders to act justly without partiality, and that He would keep you from discouragement. May He send His light and truth to lead you, defend you for His mercy's sake, and give you peace as you trust Him to work in His way and time.
