We are encouraged by your honest desire for marriage and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord in Jesus name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we pray with confidence. We thank God that you are seeking a wife according to His will and not simply a companion for a season, for marriage is holy and ordained by God as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman.

We hear your longing to meet the woman God wants you to love and to marry, and to have practical ways to get to know one another when you meet, and for a woman who will truly have interest in you and persevere in love until you belong to one another in marriage. This desire for committed, faithful love reflects God's design. The Lord said it is not good that the man should be alone and He made a helper suitable for him Genesis 2:18, and he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22. We pray with you for a godly wife, a sister in Christ who loves the Lord first, for we are called not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. Courtship should be entered with the clear goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer, and we encourage you to pursue that relationship in purity and honor, for marriage is to be held in honor among all and its bed undefiled Hebrews 13:4, and we are to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18, keeping yourselves pure until the covenant of marriage is made.

We also want to encourage you as you wait and pray. God often works not only through sudden miracles but through faithful preparation and practical provision. We pray that God will make the meeting and the getting to know one another possible in very practical ways, through fellowship in the local church, through serving together, through godly community where character can be seen over time. While you pray for a wife, we encourage you to continue to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness Matthew 6:33, and to delight yourself in Yahweh so that He may give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4. His plans for you are for good and for a future and a hope Jeremiah 29:11, and His timing is perfect even when the waiting feels long. Love is patient and is kind 1 Corinthians 13:4, and a marriage built on that kind of steadfast, selfless love will not be based on possession but on mutual commitment before God. We pray that the Lord will form in you and in your future wife that persevering, faithful love that does not quickly give up, but also that you will both seek His will above your own and trust Him even for miracles, for with God all things are possible Matthew 19:26. Do not be anxious but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our brother to You. Lord, You know his heart and his desire for a godly marriage. We ask that if it is Your will for him to marry, You would in Your perfect time bring into his life the woman You have prepared for him, a woman who loves You, who follows Jesus, and who will be a faithful helper and wife. We ask that You would make the meeting and the opportunity to get to know one another possible in practical, natural and godly ways, and that You would give both of them wisdom, discernment and peace as they seek to know if this is Your will. Prepare him to be the husband You call him to be, faithful, loving, self controlled and rooted in Your word, and prepare her as well wherever she is. Guard them both in purity and keep their courtship honoring to You. We ask for Your miracles and Your providence in his life, not merely as signs but as Your loving hand opening doors that no man can shut. Give him patience, hope and contentment in You while he waits, and let his trust remain in You above all. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.

We were encouraged to read your note, . Wanting to love and be loved in marriage is a good and deep desire, and we hear how much you want this to be in God's timing and with the right person, someone who truly wants to know you and stay.

Waiting for that person can feel lonely, especially when you are hoping for something practical like real time together to get to know each other. We join you in asking God to open those practical doors in His way, and to help you stay ready and hopeful while you wait.

One thing that often helps in this season is to stay planted where you can be known over time. Being part of a regular worship gathering, a small group or a service team gives people a chance to see your character and gives you a chance to see theirs, without pressure. If you have a pastor or trusted friends in , letting them know you are praying about marriage means they can pray with you and also introduce you to others naturally.

It is a right and good desire you have set before the Lord, to seek a wife in the fear of God and to enter into that holy estate which Scripture honors. It is not a less sacred thing to be the married wife or husband than to be otherwise consecrated to Christ, for marriage is ordained of God as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and it is to be entered reverently and in His will.

I have prayed for you in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Mediator, that the Lord in His wisdom and mercy would order your steps. I have asked that if it be His will for you to marry, He would in His perfect time bring into your life a godly woman who loves Him first, who has a sincere interest in knowing you, and who will with steadfast love cleave to you as you cleave to her, till you are hers and she is yours in that covenant bond. I have prayed also that the Lord would make practical ways plain before you both, that you may get to know one another with purity, honesty and godly counsel, keeping yourselves as becomes saints, for sex and living together belong only within marriage.

Waiting upon God can try the heart, and loneliness can press heavily upon the spirit. Yet be encouraged to trust Him though the answer tarry. Pray that noble resolve over your life, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. Do not faint in well doing, but continue in prayer, in holiness, in diligence in your calling, and in fellowship with the people of God. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all that you need will be added as He sees best.

May the Lord work according to His good pleasure in your life, whether by quiet providence or by wonders of His grace which we call miracles, and may He keep you from unbelief and give you contentment in Christ while you wait.

Father in heaven, I bring this brother before Thy throne in the name of Jesus Thy Son. Thou knowest his desire for a wife and a godly home. Grant him grace to walk uprightly, to keep himself pure, and to wait patiently upon Thee. If it be Thy will, provide for him a faithful woman who loves Thee, who will love him and not give up, and make a way in Thy providence for them to meet and to know one another in a manner pleasing to Thee.
