We join with you in prayer and we thank you for sharing this desire of your heart with us and for asking us to pray in Jesus' name and with love, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father and it is His love that guides us.

Your desire to meet a godly woman to love and to marry is good and honorable in the sight of God, for marriage was ordained by Him from the beginning as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We affirm this desire and we pray with you for a marriage that honors God, not merely a relationship or partnership, but a holy covenant. As it is written, Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22 and also Yahweh God said, It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a helper suitable for him Genesis 2:18. We also remember Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled Hebrews 13:4.

We encourage you as you wait and pray to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33 and to delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4. This is a season to be prepared as a godly husband, growing in character, in purity, in prayer, and in service to the Lord, so that when God brings her into your life you will be ready to lead and love as Christ loved the church Ephesians 5:25. We encourage you to remain in fellowship with other believers, to be active in a local church where you can be known and where you may meet a sister in Christ through godly community, for we are to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. Courtship should be with the clear goal of discerning marriage to another Christian believer, and it should be kept pure, for you are to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to abstain from sexual immorality 1 Thessalonians 4:3, keeping yourselves pure until the marriage covenant.

We also pray for those practical ways you mentioned, that God would not only bring her across your path but would provide the time, the place, the provision, and the open doors to truly get to know one another in a godly and unhurried way, and that He would give you both wisdom and discernment. We pray for a woman who has sincere interest in knowing you and who will show steadfast, faithful love, as true love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:7. We trust that God can do miracles, for nothing is impossible with God Luke 1:37, and yet He often works through faithful daily steps, through prayer and patience and His perfect timing, for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we lift up our brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would guide him according to Your perfect will and that You would prepare him and prepare the woman You have for him to be his wife. Lord, make a way in practical ways for them to meet and to get to know one another in purity and in truth, with wise counsel and with Your peace guarding their hearts. Grant them both a deep love for You first, and then for one another, a love that is patient and kind and committed for life. Keep them from fornication and from any path that does not honor You, and lead them into a marriage that reflects Christ and His church. We ask that You would do miracles in his life as You see fit, and that You would help him to trust You and not be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let his requests be made known to You Philippians 4:6. Your request has been brought before the Lord and we have joined with you in prayer, asking in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and no other mediator through whom our prayers may come to the Father.

We thank God that your desire is set toward that which He Himself ordained from the beginning, namely holy marriage. It is not a less sacred thing to be the married wife or the married husband than to walk in any other consecrated calling, for marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, wherein the two become one flesh, a mystery which sets forth the union of Christ and His Church. The very crown of such a union is mutual delight and steadfast complacency, where each esteems the other above all others. This is the pattern God has given, and it is good and honourable in His sight, and we pray that if it be His will for you, He will lead you into it in His own time and way.

We exhort you to seek first the Lord Himself. As David set his heart upon finding the ark, so set your heart upon finding Christ and abiding in Him. It is treasure put out to interest, seed sown for a future harvest, to wait upon the Lord in prayer. Jacob when he came to Jabbok found that the angel was not easily to be conquered, and so the genuine believer knows how to tug in prayer and not let go until the blessing comes. Will you continue to pray in the years to come as you profess to do now. We pray that you may be kept in that godly sincerity which cries, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, and that your faith may grow stronger and more robust, like the lily which at first is beautiful but fragile and afterwards becomes firm by the grace of God.

Therefore we have prayed for you in this manner, that our gracious God would in His providence bring you to meet the woman whom He has prepared for you, a woman who loves the Lord Jesus and walks in His ways, and that He would make it possible in practical and orderly ways for you to come to know one another as becomes saints. We have asked that He would give you both a true and modest interest in one another, not a fleeting fancy but a sober and godly affection, and that He would grant steadfastness to cleave one to the other in love and honour until by His grace you are hers and she is yours in that one covenant before Him. We have asked that He would keep you both pure and upright, that you may not seek to live as husband and wife before you are so joined, but that all things may be done decently and in the fear of the Lord.

We do not ask for miracles after the manner of presumption, but we do ask the Lord of miracles to work in your life according to His perfect wisdom and love, to open doors which no man can shut and to close those which would lead you away from His best. Remember that the Lord often provides in rustic places and in ways we could not have expected, and that He delights to give good gifts to His children.

Walk then in the path of godly principles. Be found faithful in the house of God, diligent in the Word, earnest in prayer, active in the fellowship of the saints. There, in the ordinary means of grace and in the duties of a holy life, the Lord is pleased to direct the steps of His people. Prepare yourself to be such a husband as Christ would have you be, loving, sober, faithful and kind, for a godly wife is a helpmeet who will be the ornament and buttress of the home, hedging it about with prayer.

May the Lord hear your cry, keep you from going astray, and grant you contentment in His will whether the answer tarry or come quickly. May He cause you to find all your delight in Christ, to whom the Church is married as His own, and in that joy to wait patiently for His provision for you.
