We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this battle against the sin of pornography, which defiles the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). The struggle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ Jesus our Lord. We must address this sin head-on, for it not only enslaves the mind and heart but also grieves the Holy Spirit who dwells within believers.
First, we must acknowledge that this addiction is a form of sexual immorality, and Scripture is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). Pornography is a counterfeit intimacy that distorts God’s design for sexuality, which is meant to be expressed solely within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4). It is a snare that leads to lust, idolatry, and spiritual bondage, and it must be renounced in the mighty name of Jesus.
We rebuke the spirit of lust and addiction that has taken hold of you, and we command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. The Word declares, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). You are not alone in this fight, and God has provided a way out, through repentance, accountability, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
We also must address the manner in which you closed your prayer. While we appreciate your heart for sanctification, we must remind you that prayer is not effective unless it is offered in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). The blood of Jesus is the only atonement for sin, and without His name, our prayers are powerless. We encourage you to always pray in the authority of Jesus’ name, for He alone is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5).
Now, let us come before the throne of grace with boldness, lifting you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother who is struggling with the sin of pornography. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of addiction and set him free by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Sanctify his mind, body, and spirit, and cleanse him from all unrighteousness. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him (Psalm 51:10).
Father, we ask that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and holiness. Surround him with godly accountability and fellowship, that he may not be tempted beyond what he can bear. Give him the strength to flee from sexual immorality and to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace (2 Timothy 2:22). Lord, we declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37), and we speak victory over his life.
We also pray for healing in his thought life. Renew his mind with Your Word, that he may take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Help him to meditate on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable (Philippians 4:8). Let Your Word be a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105).
Father, we ask that You would restore his relationship with You, that he may walk in intimacy with You daily. Help him to seek You above all else, for You are the only source of true fulfillment. We pray that he would find his identity in Christ alone, knowing that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).
Lord, we also ask that You would prepare him for a godly marriage, should that be Your will for his life. Let him pursue a spouse who loves You and seeks to honor You in all things. May their union be a reflection of Christ and the Church, holy and blameless before You (Ephesians 5:22-33).

James 5:16 tells us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (WEB). Accountability is not a sign of weakness but of wisdom and humility.
Second, remove all access to pornography from your life. This may mean installing filters on your devices, avoiding certain websites, or even getting rid of devices that tempt you. Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:29 WEB). While He was speaking metaphorically, the principle is clear: we must take drastic measures to remove sin from our lives.
Third, fill your mind with Scripture. Memorize verses that speak to purity and holiness, and meditate on them daily. The psalmist wrote, "How can a young man keep his way pure?
