Porn addiction, and cancer.

Beloved of All
Please help with some prayers as I wait in this situation where I am lifted up high to seek a safe place a refuge because a lot of my family died from cancer and they were all very Close to me in the death, depressions, communications, and family values were heeded.
All my friends, colleagues, and government has been working with me until I am find a place of safely where I will not be affected. Please pray that God and the Holy Spirit are still working in my life for new streets and new opportunities and buildings of structures that will not be shaken, also pray for my education and the education in the future to also be available while I am in the spaces and waiting.

We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, where our Heavenly Father sees your pain, your fear, and your struggle. You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We stand with you in prayer, believing that God is working even now to bring you to a place of safety, healing, and restoration.

First, we must address the bondage of pornography addiction with the truth of Scripture. This sin ensnares the mind, corrupts the heart, and separates us from the purity God intends for His children. Jesus said, "Everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. If the Son therefore makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:34, 36). We rebuke this addiction in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for He alone has the power to break every chain. The apostle Paul writes, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray that God will reveal the way of escape to you and grant you the strength to walk in it.

You must also guard your heart and mind against the lies of the enemy, who seeks to use this struggle to isolate you and make you feel unworthy of God’s love. But Scripture declares, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit" (Romans 8:1). If you have not already, we urge you to confess this sin to God and to a trusted, godly believer who can walk with you in accountability. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Do not let shame keep you in darkness, step into the light of Christ’s forgiveness and freedom.

Now, concerning the fear of cancer and the grief of losing loved ones, we acknowledge the deep sorrow in your heart. The loss of those close to you has left a wound that only God can heal. We pray that He will comfort you with the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and remind you that He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). The enemy may whisper that cancer is your inevitable fate, but we declare that God is your healer. He says in Exodus 15:26, "I am Yahweh who heals you." We pray for divine protection over your body, that every cell would function according to God’s design, and that no disease would take root in you.

You mentioned seeking a safe place, and we believe God is leading you to it. Psalm 91:1-2 says, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" We pray that God will guide your steps to a place where you are shielded from harm, surrounded by godly community, and able to rebuild your life on the unshakable foundation of Christ. Trust in His timing, for He makes all things beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

For your education and future opportunities, we pray that God will open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). He has plans for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Even as you wait, ask Him to prepare you for the next season of your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We must also gently remind you that your prayer request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we urge you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, repent of your sins, and receive His gift of eternal life. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This is the foundation upon which all healing, freedom, and hope are built.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is battling addiction, fear, and grief. Lord, You see the depths of his struggle, and You are near to him in this time of need. We ask that You break the chains of pornography addiction by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Cleanse his mind, renew his thoughts, and fill him with a hunger for righteousness. Lead him to accountability and godly fellowship so he may walk in freedom.

Father, we also pray for his physical health. Protect him from the fear of cancer and any disease that may seek to harm him. We declare Your healing power over his body, mind, and spirit. Comfort him in his grief, Lord, and remind him that those who have gone before him are at peace in Your presence. Surround him with Your love and give him hope for the future.

Guide him to a safe place, a refuge where he can heal and rebuild his life. Open doors for his education and future opportunities, and give him the wisdom to walk in Your will. Above all, draw him closer to You, Lord. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we pray that he would do so today. May he know the power of Your salvation and the hope that comes from being Your child.

We trust You, Father, to work all things together for his good, for he is called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen him, encourage him, and let him feel Your presence in every moment of waiting. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Waiting and wrestling alone can feel so heavy, we hear that in what you’ve shared. You’ve lost many close family members to cancer, and now you’re in a prolonged season of waiting for a safe place, holding worries about your health and your future, and carrying a hidden struggle with pornography. That’s a lot for one heart to hold. We want you to know we’re not looking away from any part of it.

When addiction meets grief and fear, it often becomes a way to escape pain or anxiety, even for a moment. You’re not broken beyond hope, and you’re not alone in this. Many men have found that freedom grows when they bring this into the light with a trusted Christian brother, a recovery group, or a wise pastor who won’t shame but will stand with you in the fight. A concrete step could be searching for a local “Celebrate Recovery” group, or asking one safe person to pray with you this week. The goal isn’t white-knuckle willpower, but letting God’s love and others’ support slowly reshape what you run to when things are hard.

It’s also wise, given your family history, to voice your cancer fears to a doctor. That’s not a lack of faith, it’s good stewardship of the body God gave you. Simply knowing what you’re dealing with (or ruling things out) can quiet the anxious “what-ifs” that feed despair and addictive escapes.

While you wait for new streets and unshaken foundations, we’re praying with you for God’s presence in the waiting itself, for his Spirit to be your refuge when no building feels safe yet. And we trust he’s making a way for your education and for the open doors you can’t yet see.

Praying with you now:

Lord Jesus, you see this child of yours, the grief, the fear, the hidden battle. Please be a very present help, a shelter in the waiting. Give courage to reach out for practical support, and break the power of anything that keeps them from wholehearted life. Guide them to a safe place and to learning that will flourish. Calm their heart with your nearness, and we ask for a clean, healthy body and spirit. In your name, amen.

The cities of refuge were appointed that the manslayer might flee and find safety; but you need not flee to a place, for Christ Himself is your Refuge, present everywhere to shelter you. Divine appointment, stronger than gates of iron, shields every soul who flees to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Flee unto Him now, and be safe.

Fear not, though cancer casts its shadow and memories of loss rise like a flood. "Fear not, thou worm Jacob; I will help thee, saith the Lord." That precept is absolute, "Fear not", not a little, not sometimes, but Fear Not at all. It is disobedience to be afraid, for He who commands it gives the strength to obey. His promise is, "I am with you; I will strengthen you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness." The curse shall not touch you, vengeance shall not reach you, for the Divine appointment shields you.

Your sin, too, that shameful addiction, there is forgiveness with Him, that He may be feared. Forgiveness is essential to true holy fear, and where pardon is received, it becomes the main motive to reverence and walk aright. Flee to Christ for mercy, and sin shall not have dominion; His grace shall dethrone obstinacy and give acquiescence in His will.

The future with its new streets and opportunities, your education and your waiting, all are appointed. Nothing floats in the atmosphere outside His superintendence. He guides by great principles infused within: avoid all evil, submit to His will, and haste not. Your path may seem hidden, but He will guide you with His counsel, and afterward receive you to glory. Fear not sickness or death, for "I will make all his bed in his sickness," and faith in Christ delivers from bondage to the fear of the grave. Believe firmly in your Lord; as faith strengthens, fear vanishes.

Safe, safe, safe, amid the wreck of matter and the crash of worlds, near our God and blessed eternally! The Holy Spirit is still working; mercy is written upon the Savior's breast. Look into that breast, away with sad doubt and anxious fear, and rest in the Refuge set before you.

The weight of grief and the fire of temptation both press upon you, but do not imagine this is a sign that God has withdrawn. When He delays to grant the request outright, it is not unwillingness to give but a divine contrivance to make you persevere. As affectionate fathers cause their little children to flee back to the mother’s bosom by allowing some fear to arise, so God permits these trials that you may continually flee for refuge unto Him and, having fled, may there abide. You seek a safe place where you will not be shaken, and rightly so, but understand that the true refuge is not first a building or a street. It is the place where the soul cries out, “Return unto thy rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee,” and “Thou art my refuge from the affliction which encompasseth me.” Do not be drunk from grief, but give careful heed to what such Psalms mean. The safe structures you pray for, new opportunities, education, a place of safety, are good to ask, but the unshaken foundation is found when you take refuge in His will, as the Apostle did in all his journeys, pressing on not to escape hardship alone but to be refreshed in the company of the faithful by the will of God.

As for the addiction that wars against you, consider the ten thousand talents you owe. We have an account to give of the commandments wherewith we have been trusted, and we are not able to pay all, no, not whatever we do. Therefore God has given us a way to repayment both ready and easy, which is able to cancel all these things: I mean, not to be revengeful. Extend this mercy to yourself as well, by fleeing to the Physician. Do not be over-curious about the worthiness of the refuge, for if Abraham had been over-curious about those who fled to him, he would not have entertained angels. He received all, and so received even angels. Receive the help God sends, however humble it seems, and cast yourself upon His mercy. The Lord Jesus, who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross, despising the shame, knows your weakness. Look to Him, and let your waiting become not a passive wasting but an active clinging to the hem of His garment. Persevere in prayer, that you may receive, and if you receive, because you have received, so that the streets you will walk are paved with gratitude and the rooms you will inhabit are filled with the Holy Spirit’s continued work.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your words carry the weight of deep grief and a cry for safety, and I want you to know that God is listening. You’ve watched cancer take those closest to you, and now you’re waiting, lifted high in the need for a place that cannot be shaken. At the same time, you’ve named a struggle that many keep hidden: the grip of pornography. That honesty matters, because there is a real refuge for both kinds of trouble, and it is found in one Person.

In the Old Testament, God set up cities of refuge where someone who had caused a death accidentally could flee and be safe from the avenger. That arrangement was never for the one who acted out of premeditated malice; those who were guilty of willful sin found no protection even within those walls. Yet for the person whose fault was not rooted in settled rebellion, the city became a true shelter. As long as he remained inside, he was secure. If he wandered outside the border, he was exposed to the avenger’s judgment. There is a picture here of Jesus Christ. He is the refuge to whom we flee. And just as the Israelite had to stay in that physical city, we are safe only as we abide in Him. He said, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”

Pornography is not an accident. It is a repeated choice that pulls the heart away from true shelter. But if you are weary of it, if you hate what it does and long to be free, then Christ does not turn you away. The refuge is for those who flee to Him, not for those who love their sin and plan to keep returning to it. When you confess it honestly before God, you step inside the border of His mercy. And there you are called to remain: not merely asking for forgiveness while keeping a secret exit open, but staying close, letting His Spirit reshape your desires. The compulsion may feel overwhelming, but safety is not in distance from temptation alone; it is in the presence of a Person. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Jacob was a man full of failure and fear, yet God bound Himself to him. That same God binds Himself to you in Christ.

About the cancer that has ravaged your family and the fear that now hovers over your own waiting: Grief has a way of making everything feel permanent and unbearable. The psalmist cried out, “My life is spent with grief,” and when you are in it, even a few days can feel like a lifetime of sorrow. You torment yourself with what-ifs, wondering if things could have been different. But pain and grief are also chisels in the hand of God, carving away what does not belong so that His image might be seen more clearly in you. That does not make it easy, but it gives it meaning. The same Lord who is a refuge for the oppressed is a very present help in trouble. He does not stand far off; He draws near.

Your request for new streets, new opportunities, and an education that won’t be taken from you is really a prayer for a future that holds firm. And that stability begins inside. You can talk yourself into deeper depression by fixing your mind only on what you’ve lost and how hard things are. Or you can talk yourself out of despondency by preaching truth to your own soul: “God is my refuge and strength. Therefore I will not fear, though the earth gives way.” The mountains may be cast into the sea, but if He is your shelter, you are still secure. Right now, while you wait for a physical place of safety, learn to stay inside the borders of your true refuge. As the territory expanded for Israel, God commanded more cities of refuge so that one was always within reach. His provision is never too far.

So I will pray with you: that you would flee to Christ daily, leaving the false intimacy of pornography behind not just in guilt but in genuine turning, and abiding in the forgiveness and strength He offers. That He would be near in the shadow of cancer, holding you steady when grief threatens to consume you. That He would open doors for your education and establish the work of your hands in a place where you can thrive. And that through this season of waiting, you would discover that the God of Jacob, the God who redeems broken people, has been your refuge all along.

We want you to know how deeply we’ve been praying for you since you shared your heavy burdens with us. Your struggle with pornography addiction, the weight of cancer’s shadow over your family, and the grief of losing those so dear to you have been lifted before the Lord day and night. We’ve asked Him to break every chain of addiction, to heal every wound of loss, and to surround you with His peace that surpasses understanding.

We’ve also stood in faith with you for the safe refuge you’re seeking—a place untouched by the storms of fear and instability. We’ve prayed for new streets, new opportunities, and unshakable foundations to rise in your life, just as you asked. We’ve interceded for your education, that doors would open wide and provision would flow even as you wait in the in-between places. The Holy Spirit has been our guide in these prayers, and we trust He is actively working on your behalf.

If God has already moved in any of these areas—whether through deliverance, comfort, or a breakthrough in your circumstances—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Your testimony could strengthen others walking similar paths. But if the answers still feel distant, or if the battle rages on, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you, lifting you up in prayer until you see the victory only Christ can bring.

May the Father continue to draw near to you, filling the empty spaces with His presence and replacing every lie with His truth. May Jesus, your Redeemer and Strong Tower, be your refuge in this season, and may the Holy Spirit lead you into all wisdom, peace, and restoration. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
