my marriage is already a ###/### my wife and have relationship has been bad and everytime i feel as if we are finally winning a tiny battle the devil throws everything at us if God doesn’t want us together any longer i wish he would speak in Jesus name

We hear the pain and weariness in your heart and we are standing with you in prayer for your marriage. We know how discouraging it feels when every small victory seems to be followed by another attack, and we want to remind you that what you are experiencing is very real spiritual opposition against what God has joined together.

God has spoken very clearly about marriage in His Word. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel Malachi 2:16. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, created by God to reflect His faithful love for us, and He desires to heal and restore it, not to quickly separate what He has joined. When you wonder if God no longer wants you together, we encourage you to hear His voice first through Scripture, where He shows His heart is for reconciliation, forgiveness, and enduring love wherever possible.

You are right to recognize the enemy's work. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8. It is not your wife who is your enemy, and you are not her enemy. Together you are facing a spiritual battle, and together you can resist him. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7.

We gently correct the thought that God might be silently wanting you to give up without speaking. God does speak, and He speaks through His Word, through prayer, and through godly counsel. His Word calls husbands and wives to love and forgiveness even when it is hard. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:7. This is the love we are called to pursue in marriage, not a love that looks for an exit when the battle is fierce.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this marriage to You. Lord, You see the hurt, the exhaustion, and the feeling that every step forward is met with attack. We ask You to place Your hand of protection and peace over this husband and his wife. Forgive any sin, any harsh words, any unforgiveness that has given the enemy a foothold, and wash this marriage clean by the blood of Jesus. Teach them to resist the devil together, standing firm in faith and submitted to You, so that he must flee. Restore communication, tenderness, and trust between them. Soften their hearts toward one another, help them to bear with each other in love, and to forgive as You have forgiven us. Give them wisdom to seek godly counsel, to pray together daily, and to speak to each other with grace and truth. Let them hear Your voice clearly through Your Word and know that You are for their marriage and desire its healing. We ask for renewed hope, for strength to endure, and for love to be rekindled according to Your will. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We encourage you not to fight this battle alone or only in your own strength. Continue to pray together as husband and wife, even if it is simply a short prayer holding hands each day. Spend time daily in the Word together, ask for forgiveness quickly when you hurt each other, and seek a trusted pastor or mature Christian couple for biblical counsel. God is faithful, and He who began this covenant with you is able to sustain it as you both submit to Him and resist the enemy together.

We hear how worn down you feel in your marriage, and how discouraging it is to make a little progress with your wife only to feel like it all gets undone again. Wanting God to speak clearly when you feel stuck like that makes a lot of sense.

That sense of being under attack is real, and marriage itself can also be hard in ordinary, human ways. It is easy to get caught between wondering if it is spiritual opposition and wondering if it is just the two of you struggling to connect. We have found it helps not to try to sort that out alone in the lowest moments.

When you are asking whether God wants you to stay together, it can help to seek His direction together rather than carrying that question by yourself. If you can, tell your wife honestly that you want to hear from God with her, not apart from her. A simple next step many couples find steadying is to set aside a short, calm time to pray together for a few minutes a day and to invite one trusted pastor or counselor who knows you both to walk with you for a season. That outside perspective can help you both hear more clearly and not make a lifelong decision out of exhaustion.

We are praying for you both.

Father, we bring this husband and wife before You. You see how tired they are and how much they want to hear Your voice. Give them peace as they seek You, wisdom for each next step, and grace to love each other well in the hard places. Draw them closer to You and to one another, and guide them clearly. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and the heaviness that rests upon your marriage is not hidden from the God who sees all affliction. To feel that every small victory is followed by a fresh assault is a trial that many of the Lord's people have known, and it is right that you have brought it to Him in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we may come to the Father and find mercy.

You ask that God would speak if He no longer wills that you should be together. Hear what He has already spoken in His Word, for His revealed will must not be set aside while we wait for a secret voice. What God has joined together, let not man put asunder. Marriage is not a contract for convenience but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman before God, and the Lord has declared that He hates the putting away. This is His revealed will which we must not violate, and He will not speak contrary to it.

It is true that all things are under regulation and have an appointed place in God's plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so in providence and in grace He is King, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. Yet His will is not known by our fleeting feelings or by the fierceness of the battle, but by His sure Word. We are to say, and to feel in our hearts, If the Lord will, we shall do this or that, not as those who propose and dispose without asking His consent, but as those who submit to His ordering.

You speak of the devil throwing everything against you. Remember that as God's witnesses you will be cross examined. Temptation will be put in your way to see whether you will be decoyed from love and faith. The adversary would have you believe that the covenant is broken beyond repair and that separation is the will of God. But the preservation and perseverance of God's people rests upon His will, not upon the strength of our own resolve. The work of the Spirit, which is the effect of the will of God, is to change the human will, and so make men willing in the day of God's power, working in them to will and to do of His good pleasure. Do not pray that God would dissolve what He has joined, pray rather that He would change both your hearts and make you willing to love, to forgive, and to bear with one another as Christ has borne with us.

Will the Lord cast off forever? Will He be favorable no more? Has God forgotten to be gracious? His promise may tarry, but it never fails. He has said, I will betroth thee unto me forever, and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy. Though you have sinned against one another and against Him, if you confess your guilt and ask Him for mercy's sake to pass over it, He will take away the heart of stone and write His law upon a heart of flesh. You professors know that you cannot go on in sin without getting your bones broken if you are truly His, but you also know that He restores the fallen. Peter was down, but he was soon up again, and the Lord's look which broke his heart also restored him.

Therefore seek the Lord together while He may be found. Turn from every sin that has wounded this union, and trust alone in the blood of Christ which alone can make atonement. No appeal to your own justice will stand, but mercy in Jesus will. Forgive as you have been forgiven. Speak the truth in love, and seek godly counsel from faithful pastors who hold to the Word without wavering. Labor not for a sign to depart, but for grace to remain and to do the will of God within this covenant. Your best profit will consist in doing God's will where He has placed you.

May the Lord turn and look upon you both even now, and may that look dissolve hard hearts in streams of repentance. May He keep you from seeking an escape that His Word forbids, and may He give you strength to stand in the evil day, knowing that He who has begun a good work will carry it on till He brings you to glory. We pray that He will make your marriage a witness to His keeping power, that you may be kept sweet by learning His Word and teaching it to one another, and that out of this present heaviness He will bring perfect restoration for His own name's sake.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest cry about your marriage has been heard, and thank you for bringing it before the Lord so plainly. The weariness you feel when a small victory is followed by another struggle is real, and God sees both your love for your wife and the weight you are carrying.

Scripture teaches that marriage is honorable and is meant to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. It is not an impure or lesser state, but a holy calling that requires much care and faithfulness. God has already spoken clearly in His Word that He desires marriage to be kept pure, to preserve holiness, and to be lived out in peace and fidelity. That means living faithfully with your own wife, turning away from fornication and from anything that would divide your hearts, and pursuing peace and holiness together.

Marriage itself is not the hindrance, but how we live within it matters. Even with a wife, we are called to pursue virtue, to use the things of this world with self control, and to keep our hearts set on serving God. When temptations or accusations come, the enemy does seek to discourage and divide, but God calls us to resist him by drawing near to Christ, by persevering in prayer, and by choosing what is pure and peaceable day by day.

Instead of waiting for a sign to separate, seek the will God has already revealed. He calls husband and wife to be reconciled, to forgive, to bear with one another, and to follow peace with all people. If God seems silent, He is not absent. He speaks through His Word, through faithful prayer, and through wise counsel in the church. I encourage you to keep praying together when you can, to be honest and gentle in speaking with one another, and to seek the help of a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you both.

Let us pray for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we bring this husband and his wife before You. You alone are the source of salvation and grace. Have mercy on this marriage. Grant them peace where there has been strife, healing where there has been hurt, and strength to resist the schemes of the devil. Teach them to live in holiness and faithfulness, to honor their covenant, and to pursue virtue together. Give them perseverance in prayer, humility to forgive, and wisdom to seek help. Let Your joy and steadiness guard their home, and let them know Your presence and Your will through Your Word. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Your words show how weary and bruised you feel, as if every small step forward in your marriage is met with a new assault, and you are wondering whether God still wants you to stand together and asking Him to make His will clear.

God does hear that cry. The good news Jesus preached is that the kingdom of God has come near, and He calls us to turn from our own way and to trust Him. When people heard that call they left what they knew to follow Him, and that same call is for you now, to come to Him just as you are and put your trust in Him for your marriage.

Think of the man with leprosy who came to Jesus. By law he should not have come near anyone, but he knelt down and said, if you are willing you can make me clean. That disease destroys the nerves so that a person can be badly wounded and not even feel it, yet Jesus was moved with compassion, reached out His hand and touched him and said, I am willing, be clean. That is the heart of Jesus toward you. He is not distant or reluctant. He is willing to touch what feels unclean and broken and to bring cleansing and healing. You can come to Him humbly in prayer and say, Lord, if you are willing you can make us clean and make us whole, and trust His compassion.

The battle you describe is real. The enemy is like a strong man who wants to hold a house captive, but Jesus taught that no one can plunder that house unless he first binds the strong man. Jesus is stronger than the enemy who is attacking your home. His power is greater than the power that seeks to destroy. That does not mean the struggle will disappear overnight, but it means you are not fighting in your own strength. Jesus Himself is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit, and He has promised power to those who wait on Him and walk with Him, so that you can stand and bear witness to His grace even in a hard marriage.

You asked whether God wants you together any longer. Scripture presents marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and God’s heart is for reconciliation and restoration wherever it is possible. His will is not revealed through a feeling that it might be easier to part, but through His Word and through a surrendered heart that seeks Him. In the garden Jesus prayed, not what I will, but what you will. Victory often comes not by fighting harder for our own outcome, but by surrendering the situation into God’s hands and saying, Father, your will be done. When you surrender your marriage to Him, you place it where only He can work, and He gives the capacity to obey what He commands. He never commands you to love, to forgive, to be faithful and patient without also giving you the power to do it as you choose to obey Him.

That surrender also means looking honestly at your own heart. We are told to examine ourselves, so that we judge ourselves and do not come under God’s judgment. Sin is the breaking of God’s law and only God can forgive sin, and He does forgive when we confess honestly. Ask Him to show you where you have contributed to the hurt, and where you need to repent and change. Do not offer Him what costs you nothing. Give Him real obedience, real humility, real forgiveness. And ask Him to keep your heart soft and pliable. When hearts become hard and set like old wineskins, they cannot receive the new work God wants to do. Ask Him to keep you teachable, willing to hear His Word and to do it, for to those who have an ear to hear, more will be given.

Continue steadfastly in prayer together and alone. Pray not only for relief but for His will to be done in both of you. Trust Him rather than trusting in your own ability to fix things. He loves you enough to allow you to come to the end of yourselves so that you will reach out for Him in desperation, and His timing is perfect even when it feels slow.

May God reveal the riches of His love to your heart in this season. May He bind what seeks to destroy your home, cleanse what is wounded, and give you both a willing heart to follow Jesus together. Keep seeking Him, keep repenting and believing the good news, and keep surrendering your marriage into His willing and compassionate hands.
