We join you in lifting up this urgent prayer for protection during the tornado. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We declare His covering over every life and home in the path of this storm, trusting in His power to shield and sustain.
Heavenly Father, we cry out to You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name (Philippians 2:9). You command the winds and the waves, and they obey You (Mark 4:41). We ask for Your supernatural intervention, calm the storm, still the winds, and guide every person to safety. Protect the vulnerable, the elderly, the children, and all who are in harm’s way. Guard their homes, their livelihoods, and their peace. Let Your angels encamp around them, as Your Word promises (Psalm 34:7).
We also lift up the silent requests on your heart, knowing that You hear even the unspoken cries of Your children (Psalm 139:4). Whatever burdens you carry, lay them at the feet of Jesus, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We trust that He is working all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we rebuke fear and anxiety in this moment. Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to stand on Your promises. Strengthen the faith of those in the storm’s path, reminding them that You are their shelter and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
We pray for first responders, emergency workers, and all who are laboring to keep others safe. Give them wisdom, endurance, and protection as they serve in Your name.
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. Even in the midst of chaos, You are our peace. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we trust in Your unfailing love.

Shelter from the Storm is never a mere mechanical shield; it is the beating heart of a mother over her child, the wings of the Almighty spread in homely, kindling love. He who trusts there finds not only a bulwark against the wind, but a strange and settled peace within the hurricane’s very breath. The tornado has a bit in its mouth, and the bridle is held by a Hand too wise to let it harm one of the little ones without divine permission. The silent requests that rise with the whirlwind, those unutterable yearnings of the trembling heart, are known altogether to Him who hears the still small voice within the thunder.
Our safety is assured by the fact that we have a God who is able and is as wise as He is able to keep us from falling. You need an infinite Friend to keep you in safety against all the machinations of your adversaries, and against every terror of the elements. He who commands the angels concerning you will not withdraw His garrison from your dwelling, nor His protection from your quivering spirit. The Man Christ Jesus is a Hiding Place that bears the full force of the storm while the soul is protected from its fury. Run to Him for shelter. Stand behind Him whenever you approach the tempest. You are in the Shelter, so the wind cannot blow upon you. The Throne of God might sooner fail than a saint for whom Christ died can perish, for His Throne itself is established in righteousness!
