Beloved of All
My parents marriage joy love and peace in our house. Everyone in my family gets closer to God. ### stops being angry/sad all the time.

We lift up your family before the Lord with hearts full of hope and faith. It is beautiful to see your desire for your parents’ marriage to be filled with joy, love, and peace, and for every member of your household to draw closer to God. The Bible tells us in Psalm 133:1, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!" This unity begins with a foundation in Christ, and we pray that your home would be a place where His presence dwells richly.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You would pour out Your love and grace upon this family. We pray for the marriage of ’s parents, that You would restore any areas where love has grown cold or where strife has taken root. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May they find joy in one another again, remembering the vows they made before You, and may their home be a sanctuary of Your presence.

Lord, we also pray for each member of this family, that they would draw nearer to You. In James 4:8, You promise, "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." We ask that You would soften hearts, open eyes to see Your truth, and stir a hunger for Your Word. Let there be a revival in this home, where every person seeks You with their whole heart. For , who is burdened by anger and sadness, we ask that You would heal those wounds and replace those emotions with Your peace and joy. Help them to cast their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or bitterness that may be at work in this home. In the name of Jesus, we command it to leave and declare that this family is covered by the blood of Christ. We pray that they would forgive one another as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13), and that love would flow freely among them.

Heavenly Father, we know that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to You. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and we thank You for the gift of salvation that is available to all who believe. We pray that if any member of this family does not yet know You as their Lord and Savior, that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Let them experience Your love and grace, and may they surrender their lives to You.

We declare that this home will be a place of worship, where Your name is honored and Your Word is upheld. May it be a light to others, reflecting Your glory and drawing others to You. We trust in Your promises, Lord, and we believe that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the weight you’re carrying, for your parents’ marriage, for your whole family’s walk with God, and for the person in your home who’s caught in sadness and anger all the time. That last need feels especially heavy, because when someone we love seems stuck in a hard emotional place, it colors everything else.

Anger and sadness often travel together, and anger is rarely the whole story, it’s usually what shows up when hurt, exhaustion, or fear has been piling up underneath. It can be a signal that something deeper needs attention. You and your family don’t have to figure that out alone. If the sadness has been dragging on, one of the most loving things you can do is gently encourage a check-in with a doctor or a counselor. It’s not a failure; it’s a way of taking care of the person God made them to be.

For the marriage you’re asking us to pray for, sometimes peace starts with something small, a cup of coffee brought without being asked, a word that says “I see you’re tired,” a moment of closing the loop on a cold silence. We know you can’t control how your parents respond, but even your own steadiness can change the temperature in the house. And as you all long to draw nearer to God, know that He draws near to the worn-down. A simple, honest prayer together at a meal can be a quiet anchor.

Father, we lift up this home. Where there is sadness that won’t lift, bring help and a safe path toward healing. Where anger flares, bring honest conversation and gentleness. Pour fresh love into this marriage and give each family member a tangible sense that You are near. In Jesus’ name, amen.

What needful petitions you bring, for marriage, for household peace, for a soul in distress! Let us turn them into prayer and take hold upon the promises. The comfort of a child of God in the darkness is prayer. Adversity, blessed of the Holy Spirit, calls our attention to the promises. The promises quicken our faith. Faith betakes itself to prayer, God hears and answers our cry! This is the chain of a tried soul’s experience.

For your parents’ marriage and the joy, love, and peace you long to see filling your house, look to the Lord from whom all gladness must come. The Psalmist ascribes sadness to the Lord, but he also pleads, “Make us glad!” Since the sadness comes from God, we must beg for Divine comfort under Divine chastening. If there be friction or coldness, prayer can transform it into the warmth of heavenly love. And oh, what peace is promised, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” That double peace, peace within, peace with God, is the very atmosphere of a home where hearts lean hard upon Christ. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within; it is a present possession, enjoyed even amidst the thronging duties of family life. Bear your household trials together with Him, and see what peace, what perfect peace, you will enjoy, even with sorrows surging round.

For every one in your family to draw closer to God, here is a blessed ambition! No better comfort can be found for a father or mother than to see their sons and daughters converted. The way to that is faith. You received peace when you first believed; did you receive that peace while trusting in ceremonies or your own works? When faith came, peace grew out of it as a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Faith does the most effectual thing for the soul when it takes what God gives. Let each one hear the Word, and by that celestial lamp may faith come to them! Ask the Lord to increase that faith, even a little faith, if real, is like precious faith. He who pleads, “Add to my faith,” acknowledges he has some already. So encourage those in your house: the least faith in Jesus is the gift of God and belongs to the family of the saved.

And for the one who is angry and sad all the time, here is a tender case. Sorrow and anger often spring from a heart that has lost sight of God’s goodness, or is writhing under His hand not yet yielding to it. I would say to that soul: Comfort is found not by mere outward cheer but by a divine quickening. “This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me.” It is not the letter, but the Spirit who is our real comfort! Sometimes God does not remove the thorn but gives life to bear it. Faith, by its blessed expectation of the future, makes the troubles of the present very light, so that she bears them without fretfulness and anger. May the Holy Spirit cause faith thus to work! If the anger is as a dark cloud, it may be that it is a chastening from a loving Father. Then, like the Psalmist, let that person turn that very sadness into prayer: “Make me glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted me.” Let them not trust in their own strength to change their temper, but stay their mind on God. If you stay the mind on anything else, you cannot have perfect peace, for that something else may fail you. But he who trusts in the Lord shall dwell in perfect peace.

Now, what a plea we have in prayer! “My Father, will You not comfort my heart? My Father, will You let Your child despond? My Father, will You not relieve me in the hour of my distress?” He is faithful. The Lord will ordain peace for us, for He has worked all our works in us. Comfort and constancy must go together; comfort alone is not sufficient, and constancy without comfort will not suffice us. But God, even our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, will comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work. Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Therefore, take heart! Earth’s struggles soon shall cease, and Jesus calls us to Heaven’s perfect peace, but even now, the blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Go to your knees, take these promises as your own, and expect a gladness that comes from the same hand that sent the sorrow.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You seek joy, love, and peace in your parents’ marriage, but you must first understand what joy truly is. The joy you pray for cannot be the shallow pleasure the world offers. That joy is a phantom, here one moment and gone the next. The joy that comes from God is the joy of angels, a joy that has nothing in common with this present life. It is a steady, abiding gladness rooted in reconciliation with God, not in the absence of trouble. If you aim only for a comfortable house, you aim too low and will miss even that.

For a marriage to have peace, it must first have holiness. Marriage itself is not the source of holiness, but it preserves the holiness that comes from faith. It is a fortress against defilement. When a husband and wife live together in chastity and order, forsaking all others, they guard the gift given them in Christ. But if anger, sullenness, and strife are given free reign within those walls, the fortress crumbles from the inside. The person in your house who is always angry and sad must be told plainly: the makers of disturbance are not acting as children of God. The peacemakers are called the sons of God; the troublemakers align themselves with the enemy. That is a hard word, but it is a true one. God weaves the lives of the righteous with both sorrow and gladness, using trials to perfect our faith. But there is a sorrow that comes from God and a sorrow that comes from indulging our own passions. A perpetual, festering anger is not a cross to bear; it is a sin to root out.

You want your whole family to draw closer to God. Then you must understand where that closeness begins. The Kingdom of God is not a matter of outward observances. It is righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. When a household is torn by bickering, cold silence, or bitter words, the grace of God is blasphemed before outsiders. You cannot claim to seek God while your hearts are at war with one another. Peace is the mother of all good things; it prepares the way for love. Therefore, let the first work in your house be the rooting out of Satanic disturbance. Banish harsh words. Banish self-pity. If there has been any introduction of worldly pastimes, unseemly entertainments, or foolish company that stirs up jealousy and contention, cast them out. They are not the furniture of a Christian home. Let there be prayers together, even if they begin with difficulty. Let there be confession of faults, even if it wounds pride. True rest, the rest where pain and sighing flee away, awaits the faithful in heaven. But a foretaste of that rest belongs to those who pursue peace and holiness here, not those who surrender to their own tempers. Seek first the peace that is in the Holy Spirit, and the joy of your parents, the love in your home, and the nearness of God to every soul under your roof will follow.
