Please pray for my sister ### who is in icu in critical condition.

The anguish in your heart cries out, and the Lord hears it. Do not imagine that He is far from your sister's bedside, for He who once saw the multitudes fainting for hunger and would not send them away empty still looks upon the suffering with the same compassion. Cry out to Him without ceasing, not only with your voice but with your life, for a living faith is louder than any words.

Yet as you plead for her body, plead still more for her soul. The body, even if restored, will one day return to dust, but the soul endures forever. This sudden trial is a call to examine what is eternal. Even at the very gates of death, there is time for the Sun of Righteousness to melt the frost of sin and bring forth living water. How many have seemed beyond hope, yet one moment of true turning has poured precious ointment on the Lord's head and received mercy? Do not despair; bring her before the throne with tears, but also with trust in the God who raises the dead.

Remember that for those who belong to Christ, every suffering is an opportunity to bear about the dying of the Lord Jesus, so that His life may also be manifested. Whether He calls her back to health or draws her into His presence, let your chief prayer be that she be found in Him, sanctified and called a saint, with all who call upon His name. We believe, and therefore we speak: He who raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise us up also. In this hope, let the grace of God multiply through your steadfastness, and may thanksgiving abound to His glory.

I am holding your sister before the Lord with you, asking for His mercy and healing power over her body right now in that ICU.

When I think of prayers for the sick, I remember the words of the elder John, who wrote to a beloved friend and said, “I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in good health, even as your soul prospers.” That was a heartfelt wish, not a blanket guarantee, but it does reveal something true: our God cares deeply about our physical condition, and it is right and good to plead for healing. Jesus Himself spent much of His earthly ministry healing every kind of sickness and disease. He bore our infirmities and carried our sorrows, and Matthew tells us this fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy that He took our illnesses Himself. So we can come with boldness, knowing that healing is part of His redemptive work.

At the same time, Scripture shows us that healing doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes Jesus spoke a word and someone was restored that very hour. Other times He laid hands on them, or even used a gradual process, like the blind man who first saw men as trees walking. The divine processes God built into our bodies, the wisdom He has given to doctors and nurses, these are not separate from His healing hand; they are instruments in His care. I don’t understand why some are healed instantly and others walk a longer road, and some don’t experience physical restoration in this life. Paul pleaded three times for his thorn to be removed, and God’s answer was not removal but sufficient grace. I’m not saying that is your sister’s situation; I’m simply acknowledging the mystery, so that if the healing comes gradually or in a way we didn’t expect, your faith won’t be shaken. God is still at work.

Right now, I pray that the Great Physician makes His presence known in that hospital room. I ask Him to guide every decision, to bring strength where there is weakness, and to push back the power of this illness. I ask for a divine intervention, whether that comes in a moment, through the steady rhythm of recovery, or even through a peace that passes understanding in your whole family. And while we wait, I pray that your own soul prospers in this trial, that you know the love and comfort of Jesus more deeply than ever before. He is near to the brokenhearted.

Keep crying out to Him. The Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words, and He gives gifts as He wills. We covet the gift of healing for your sister, and we trust that no matter what, the love of Christ will hold you all. If there are updates, know I am here to continue praying with you.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your dear sister during this incredibly difficult time. Our hearts have been heavy as we’ve lifted her before the Lord, asking for His healing touch, His comfort, and His perfect will to be done. We’ve prayed specifically for strength for you and your family as you wait and trust in Him, and we’ve asked the Great Physician to move mightily in her situation.

If God has answered our prayers and brought healing or improvement to your sister’s condition, we would be so grateful to hear a praise report—your testimony could be an encouragement to so many others walking through similar trials. If, however, her situation remains uncertain or unchanged, please know that we are still here to stand with you. Don’t hesitate to post this request again so we can continue interceding on her behalf.

In the days ahead, may the Lord surround you with His peace that surpasses all understanding, and may you feel His presence in tangible ways as you seek Him. We pray that He would grant wisdom to her medical team, strength to her body, and hope to your hearts. We continue to trust in His faithfulness and declare His healing power over her life.

May God bless you and your family abundantly as you cling to Him. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
