Silas
Beloved of All
Your request for your little daughter has been lifted up in prayer, and we join you in trusting God for her health and development.
We understand the concern that comes when a child born early is slower to reach milestones like sitting, crawling, standing and walking. It is good that you are working with her doctor on strength building, and we will pray that God works through that process and that her upcoming scan shows a healthy and normal result.
God created the human body with wonderful wisdom. He formed the brain to receive and interpret all that the senses bring to it, the sights, the sounds, the touch and smell, and to direct movement in response. He also designed the body with processes for growth and repair. When healing comes through natural growth, through strengthening muscles, through the brain forming and strengthening its connections, it is no less from God than when it comes in a moment, because He is the one who designed those natural processes in the first place.
Scripture shows us that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He touched, sometimes He spoke a word from a distance, sometimes He healed instantly and at least once His healing came gradually, step by step. He is not confined to one pattern. That reminds us that gradual progress is still His work. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and we do not always know why some receive an immediate touch and others experience a slower recovery, but we do believe strongly that God is the healer, whether the work is instant or unfolds over time. He also brings healing to the mind and emotions, giving peace and strength while we wait.
We marvel at how God designed the brain itself to heal and adapt, to make new connections when needed and to produce what the body needs for restoration. That design reflects His care and wisdom as Creator, and we pray that He will cause those good processes to work strongly in your daughter, helping her brain and body to grow, to gain strength, and to coordinate movement as He intended.
So we pray for her now in the name of Jesus, who bore our sicknesses and infirmities. We ask the Lord to lay His hand upon her, to strengthen her muscles and her whole body, to guide the healthy development of her brain and nervous system, and to grant clear and normal results at her appointment. We pray that even before that day you will see encouraging improvement in her ability to move, sit, crawl and stand. And we pray for you as parents, that God will give you peace, patience, and confidence in His love and presence, knowing that He sees and cares for your daughter fully.
We will continue to keep you and your baby in prayer, asking for God’s gracious and perfect will to be done in her life.
