Please Pray for our Baby Girl

Our ### month old baby just got admitted to tge hospital with a fever and a bacterial infection. Please pray for her recovery.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious baby girl and her family in this time of distress. Father God, we ask for Your healing hand to rest upon her. Your Word tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." Lord, we claim this promise over this little one’s life. Drive out the infection, strengthen her body, and restore her to full health.

We also pray for wisdom and peace for the doctors and nurses caring for her. Give them discernment in their treatment and compassion in their care. May they be instruments of Your healing, guided by Your perfect knowledge. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."

Father, we ask for comfort and strength for her parents during this trial. Calm their fears and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Surround them with Your love and the support of their community.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of sickness and disease in the name of Jesus. We declare that by His stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5). We stand on Your Word, believing that You are the Great Physician and that nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:27). May this family experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach You and the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

We are holding your little girl and your whole family close in our hearts right now. Watching your baby in a hospital bed while doctors work to fight an infection is a deeply wearing, anxious thing, and we will not pretend it is small. The worry and the sleeplessness are real, and we are here carrying some of that weight with you in prayer.

When the hours in a hospital room stretch long, what often helps most is knowing you are not sitting there alone. If you have not already, consider reaching out directly to a pastor or a trusted friend from your church and simply letting them know what is happening, not so they can fix it, but so they can physically show up, sit with you, and pray quietly right there in the room. That nearness of the body of Christ matters immensely. In the meantime, keep the medical team closely informed of any change you notice; they are a gift, and partnering well with them is part of your care for her, alongside prayer.

We are asking the Lord to work swiftly through the antibiotics, to break the fever, and to steady her little body. And we are asking Him to give you and your family a peace that does not depend on the monitor numbers, and the stamina to walk this path tenderly, one hour at a time.

Our Father, we lift this precious baby girl to You right now. Please grant wisdom and skill to every nurse and physician caring for her, and let this infection be fully overcome. Quiet her parents’ hearts in these exhausting waiting hours; comfort them deeply and help them to sense Your presence holding them up. Restore this little one to full health and bring her home safely, we ask in Jesus’ name.

The little one laid in a hospital cot calls to mind how our Lord Himself, as a Babe, was held in the arms of aged Simeon, God’s salvation wrapped in swaddling clothes. That same Jesus, who was once a Child of few months, now reigns as the great Physician over every sickroom. He knows the fever that burns in your infant’s frame, and He bends low to hear a parent’s cry as surely as He marked the cry of Jairus for his little daughter.

Cast this burden upon Him who took up little children in His arms and blessed them. In Christ’s Hospital there is no patient cast out as incurable; He is able to save to the uttermost, and His skill reaches the smallest sufferer. Though recovery may prove slow, as strength returns by degrees, let each improvement bind your heart more firmly to the Lord. He often picks out the most helpless case to display His power, perhaps your babe is the very one upon whom His eye is fixed in that ward of waiting ones.

Rest in this: the appearing of the Lord in our flesh and blood is the sure pledge that He cares for our flesh and blood. I join my prayers with yours, entreating the Good Physician to lay His healing hand upon your daughter, cool her fever, subdue the infection, and restore her to your bosom full of health. And when you walk out of that hospital of waiting, go down the steps singing for joy that the Lord has dealt with you after a Gospel fashion.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The fever that now grips your little girl is not hidden from the Lord who once stood beside a sickbed and with a touch not only quenched the fever but restored full strength in an instant. When He healed Peter’s mother-in-law, He left no lingering weakness, no slow recovery; He gave perfect health all at once. Bring that image to mind, and let it steady your heart. We will indeed pray for her swift recovery, asking the Great Physician to put forth that same power now.

Yet consider also what every fever teaches us. The body burns and wanes, and we are forced to see how frail this life is, how little control we truly hold. That is a grace, if we receive it well. When the soul is feverish with love of the world, with anxious clinging to things present, it grows sicker than the body ever can. But when we hold these earthly goods lightly, we find a calm that no infection can steal. The child’s suffering, painful as it is, calls you to lift your eyes higher, to trust the One who often allows such trials not to harm but to draw us closer, or to show His glory in healing.

Bear this trial thankfully, and know that even now Christ is able to restore her fully. Should He delay, He sees a greater good than immediate relief. In the end, what He restores will be more beautiful, and what He withholds only purifies our love. We will ceaselessly beseech Him for her life and for your peace.

Your little girl’s admission to the hospital weighs so heavily, and I ache with you. There is nothing quite like the grip an infant has on your heart. The first time your baby sees you and makes a sound, the way a tiny hand wraps around your finger, all of it binds you to her in a love that is fierce and protective. So this fever and infection strike at the very place where your affection runs deepest. You want to fix it, hold her through it, and make the sickness leave. The waiting, the monitors, and all the sterile surroundings can feel overwhelming.

But there is hope that stands outside of our fragile medical circumstances. In the Scriptures, we read of Peter’s mother-in-law stretched out with a great fever. The language a physician like Luke used tells us it was a severe thing, a fever that sapped her strength and filled the house with concern. They did the only truly effective thing: they brought the need to Jesus. And when He stood over her and rebuked the fever, it left. The same authority Jesus held over sickness then, He holds now. Our confidence is not in mere history but in a living Savior who hears when His people cry out.

So we join you in asking the Lord to rebuke this infection and break the fever that has your baby girl in its grip. We pray for the wisdom of the doctors and nurses, that the treatments they administer would work effectively and quickly. And while you wait, may you know the presence of Christ drawing near. He is not distant from a hospital room; He stands ready to touch, to heal, and to restore. Hold your little one, sing over her if you can, and entrust her again and again into hands that were once nailed for her sake. Your worry is real, but His mercy is deeper still. May He grant a swift recovery and fill that room with His peace.
