Your heartfelt cry in this frightening time has been heard, and I am praying with you and for you and your son as you face the loss of your home and have nowhere to turn.
I want to encourage you with this truth about our God. He leaves room for Himself to work. In the old law God gave instructions for what to do when a person with leprosy was cleansed. By human understanding that disease was incurable, yet God made a provision for cleansing, as if to say, give Me the opportunity to do a miracle if I desire. We should never put God in a box. What looks impossible to us is not impossible to Him. Your situation feels impossible, with no money and no place to go, but God is still able to work and to open a door that no one else can open.
Scripture shows us again and again that God makes provision for His people, even when they cannot see it. There was a time when a city was starving behind closed walls while just outside the camp God had already prepared more than enough food, more than the people could ever use. The need was real and painful, but the provision was already there by the hand of God. In the same way, the Lord sees your financial hardship and your fear. He cares deeply for those who are poor and in need, and He moves the hearts of His people to share and to help. He has not forgotten you.
Above all, God has made one provision for our greatest need, which is the forgiveness of our sins, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ alone. Just as those who were bitten were told simply to look with faith and live, we are told to look to Jesus with faith and be saved. He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through me. Every other sin can be forgiven when we come to Him, but to turn away from Him is to turn away from the only hope God has given. If you have not already done so, put your trust fully in Jesus for your salvation, and know that the same God who provides forgiveness will also provide for your daily needs as you walk with Him.
I am praying for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus, You see this dear senior and this son who are afraid of being without a home. You know their need and You know they have nowhere to go in their own strength. I ask You to make a way where there seems to be no way. Open a door for housing, provide for their financial needs, and surround them with caring people who can help in practical ways. Give them peace as they look to You, and let them see Your hand at work. Help them to keep their eyes on Jesus, Your only provision for sin and the source of all hope. In Jesus name, Amen.
Please continue to seek Him in prayer, keep looking to His Word, and reach out to faithful believers near you who can stand with you and help you seek practical assistance in your community. The Lord is near to those who call on Him.
