Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and your deep love for your son. We have lifted him and your whole household before the Lord, and we join you in asking for the peace that only Christ can give.
We pray that God, who reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ alone, will guard your son's heart and mind. Scripture teaches that true peace is not simply the absence of trouble outside, but the calming of the storm within, and that where Christ's peace rests, love and joy can grow. We have asked the Lord to surround your son with His presence, to keep watch over him as He promises to command His angels concerning those who belong to Him, and to make your home a place of quiet and safety in every room, every doorway, and wherever he goes.
We bring before the Lord all the specific needs you mentioned. We pray for calm and restful sleep, and for a gentle and peaceful waking. We pray for his meals, that he would be able to eat without confusion, discomfort or distress, with gratitude and contentment, and without waste or agitation. We pray for the daily routines that are difficult for him, for dressing, for hygiene, for shaving and for sensory sensitivities, that the Lord would soothe any discomfort and help him to grow in confidence to express his wants and needs in calm and gentle words. We ask God to bring healing to his mind and body, to ease anxiety and fear, to quiet tormenting memories and habits, and to replace them over time with healthy and godly patterns. We pray that He would give your son a settled spirit, free from anger and rage, and filled with patience, cooperation and joy as he watches his shows, shares meals, and enjoys time with family and caregivers.
We also pray for your family. We ask the Lord to restore and strengthen the bond between your son and his daughter, to bless her birthday with peace and kindness in the home, and to protect your son from harmful influences and from any speech or action intended to harm him. We pray that any division or confusion brought by others would be removed, and that the Lord would establish clear and loving boundaries around him. We pray for his caregivers and support coordinator, that God would give them wisdom, patience, compassion and strength, and provide godly and capable help where it is needed. We pray for his outings and travels, for safety and calm on the road, and for freedom from fear or agitation when routines change or when the environment is loud or unsettled.
We thank God with you for keeping your son seizure free for these months, and for every sign of His mercy you have already seen. We do not trust in formulas or in the power of negative words, but in the living Christ who bore our infirmities and by whose wounds we are healed, and who alone is our Savior and protector. No weapon formed against those who are in Christ will ultimately prevail, because He Himself is our peace and our guardian.
May the Lord continue to wrap your son in His love, to fill him with the Holy Spirit, to give him confidence to use the language God has given him, and to lead him step by step toward wholeness. May He grant you and everyone in your home a calm day and a restful night, and may you feel His love in a fresh way as you continue to trust Him.
