Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine favor and wisdom concerning this new job opportunity. Lord, You know the desires of this person’s heart, and we ask that You align their path with Your perfect plan. If this job is Your will, we pray that You open the doors and grant them success. If it is not, we trust that You have something even better prepared. Guide their steps, Lord, and let Your peace reign in their heart as they wait on You.
We also encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in prayer and through His Word. James 1:5 says, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Continue to surrender this opportunity to the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply about every detail of your life.

You ask for prayers to obtain this new job, but let us consider first what we are truly seeking. When we pray for earthly things, our hearts often become entangled with desires that go beyond mere necessity. The work of our hands is a good thing, ordained by God for our provision and for the service of others. Yet if your longing for this particular job stirs in you anxiety, sleeplessness, or a grasping after status and wealth, then it has become a provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. The present life is a dream, and the things in it are no more substantial than shadows. To chase after them with a feverish spirit is to lose sight of the life that is truly life.
I do not say that you should not work or pray for daily bread. The Apostle himself labored, and he commands us to work quietly and eat our own bread. But make your request with a heart detached from the outcome, giving thanks to God whether He grants it or not. For He alone knows what is best for your soul. If you receive the job, receive it as a gift to be used for His glory and for the relief of the needy, not for soft living or vain display. If He closes the door, then He is sparing you some unseen danger or calling you to trust Him more deeply in your present circumstances.
Therefore, let this be your prayer: "Lord, You know what I need before I ask. I desire this work, if it is Your will, to sustain my life and to serve You faithfully. But above all, let Your will be done in me. Grant me the peace that surpasses understanding, so that whether I have this job or not, I may seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness."
