We join you in this deep burden and we lift up with you all those who are suffering abandonment, the loss of family, and the heartbreak of children lost before birth. Our hearts are moved by the pain of neighbors who have lost unborn babies, by families broken and scattered, by wives and husbands forsaken, by sons and daughters left alone, and by little ones who have no house or refuge or shelter. We bring all of this before the Lord together in Jesus name, knowing He sees every tear and hears every cry.
We agree with you that every unborn life is precious in the sight of God. Scripture tells us Psalm 139:13 For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. and Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Children are not despised by God, even when they are despised or rejected by man, for Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward. We must speak clearly that to take innocent life in the womb is to shed innocent blood which God forbids, for Exodus 20:13 You shall not murder. and Proverbs 6:16-17 tells us that hands that shed innocent blood are an abomination to Yahweh. Abortion is not merely a choice but the taking of a human life made in the image of God, and we rebuke that spirit of death and call it what it is. Yet we also know there is mercy and forgiveness for those who repent and turn to Christ, for 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. and Isaiah 1:18 Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
We also lift up every person who knows abandonment and betrayal, who has lost a sister or brother, a friend or family, and who feels alone with no one to take them in. You quoted truly Psalm 27:10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. and Isaiah 49:15 Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. We cling to that promise with you. God has not forgotten the abandoned child, the forsaken spouse, or the lonely parent. He is Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. and Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. He is near to those whose families have been torn apart and whose generations seem cut off, for Psalm 34:18 Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
We pray together now for these things. Father in heaven, we come before You only through the name of Jesus Christ, for John 14:6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. and Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We thank You that You have made a way through Jesus to receive mercy. Lord, we entrust to Your care every innocent child who was aborted or miscarried or died unborn. We ask that in Your mercy You receive them, for Jesus said Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. Comfort the mothers and fathers who mourn, bring conviction and repentance where there has been hardness of heart toward these little ones, and heal the deep wound in our neighborhoods and families where life has been despised. Lord, break the cycle of death and extermination and let life and hope for the next generation be restored. For those who are abandoned and betrayed, for wives without husbands, husbands without wives, children without parents, and all who wander without house or shelter or friend to refuge them, be their dwelling place. Provide for them tangible shelter, godly community, and a family of faith to take them in. Expose and drive back every disorder and bewitching influence and spiritual darkness that oppresses neighborhoods, for we know our struggle is not against flesh and blood and You have given us power to resist the enemy as we submit to You. Restore marriages to reflect Your covenant love, let courtship be pursued with purity toward holy marriage between a man and a woman, and let families be strengthened to honor You. We ask for Your mercy upon every abortive family and every grieving neighbor, that they may find rest and peace in You and one day rejoice in Your heavenly presence. We entrust all the suffering, the lonely, and the unborn to Your compassionate hands and pray for Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap with prayer and with practical love, to be a refuge where you can, to point the brokenhearted to the church as family, and to share the hope that no one is truly forsaken when they belong to Christ, for Hebrews 13:5 he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you. Keep bringing these burdens to Him, for He hears and He will answer according to His perfect mercy.
