We join you in lifting up this heavy burden before the Lord and we agree with you in praying for all who are suffering abandonment and for every unborn child who is despised or rejected.
Your heart reflects the heart of God who sees every child formed in the womb and who draws near to the abandoned and brokenhearted. The scriptures you shared are a precious comfort to us. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. And Isaiah 49:15 says Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Even when family, husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister or friend forsakes or betrays, the Lord does not forsake. He remains faithful and He receives those whom others have abandoned.
We grieve with you over the loss of unborn babies, whether through miscarriage or through the sin of abortion. The Word of God is clear that life begins in the womb and is precious to Him. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother's womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came out of the womb, I sanctified you. To take that innocent life is to shed innocent blood, which the Lord hates as we read in Proverbs 6:16-17, and we must lovingly rebuke the abortive spirit and the culture that calls evil good and despises these little ones. Yet we also know the mercy of God is great and that forgiveness and healing are available through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and we pray that those who have participated in or been wounded by abortion would find that mercy.
We also remember your prayer for families whose generations seem cut off, for children left alone without house or refuge, for neighborhoods in disorder and for all who feel they have no shelter. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 says, and He is close to the brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these. We entrust every miscarried and aborted child into His care, trusting that He receives the innocent into His presence and that they rest in peace with Him.
We pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
We pray, Father in heaven, have mercy upon every unborn child and upon every mother and father tempted to reject their child, turn their hearts to love and to life. Have mercy upon every wife abandoned by her husband, every husband abandoned by his wife, every son and daughter left alone, every brother and sister betrayed, and every child without a home. Be their Father, be their shelter, be their refuge when no one else will receive them. Comfort those who mourn the loss of babies and families, heal the wound of abandonment and the guilt of those who need forgiveness, and let Your church rise up to be a refuge and a shelter for the lonely and the fatherless. Bring restoration where generations have been cut off and let Your compassion be known in every neighborhood and household that feels forgotten. We entrust all these innocent little ones and all who suffer into Your merciful hands, trusting Your justice and Your love, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
