Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family and the teen who is struggling with an addiction to video games. Lord, we know that addiction can be a powerful force, but we also know that Your power is greater. Your Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." We stand on this promise today, asking for Your intervention.
Father, we ask that You break the chains of addiction that have bound this child. We pray for the spirit of addiction to be cast out in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare freedom over this household, knowing that "if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).
Lord, grant wisdom and strength to the parents, who have been tirelessly praying and seeking solutions. Help them to continue to lean on Your strength and guidance. Your Word in James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." We pray for divine wisdom to navigate this challenging situation.
We also ask for Your peace to fill this home. Philippians 4:7 reminds us, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." May Your peace replace any anxiety or fear.
Lord, we pray for the child to realize the importance of rest and balance in life. Help this child to understand the value of sleep and the necessity of stepping away from screens to engage with the world around. We ask that You open the eyes of this child’s heart, so they may see the beauty of Your creation and the joy of real-life interactions.
Finally, we pray for any evil influences to be banished from this home. In Ephesians 6:11, we are reminded to "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." We pray for this family to be clothed in Your armor, protected and strengthened by Your mighty hand.
We trust in Your unfailing love and mercy, Lord. May Your will be done in this situation. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
